Found this place after missing two places traveling through Knoxville. So happy we did…read more It's a small rustic place, very casual. It actually has a small grocery store in the back. The service is amazing and the staff is very friendly. Gives you a family owned feeling. We started with the Papusa's. So fresh and tasty. The masa was delicious and they were very cheesy. I could've ate this for the entire meal. I had the fried chicken on top of plantains covered in cabbage and tomatoes with salsa and drenched in a fantastic tangy crema. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Jacob had the same as I, but with beef. The ground beef was so tasty. I could eat here every week. I have never had Honduran food before, so I don't know if I can say the following statement. But, I felt like grandma was in the back making a real authentic family meal.

This place is a mix between a sparse convenience store and a hole in the wall restaurant. But, if…read moreone looks past the informality, one would see a place where workers and families stop on for some tasty, home style South American food. I picked up a burritas hondureñas, which was like a corn tortillas sandwich filled with meat, eggs, beans, cheese, and avocado. It was good but the hot sauce on the table kicked it up a notch. The papusas were everything one could want and more. Cheesy, thick, and topped with a tangy curtido. I left feeling pleasantly plump and happy to see a place like this on my quick trip through Knoxville.

We finally got to try it out a bit ago. It was great! I asked afterwards if they had a Yelp, and they said no, but they'd try. I see they still don't have one, so I made a page for them. They deserve more business! I do see they have google reviews - Great reviews w more pictures. The food was great! We rolled into the Woodstock Christian Church parking lot- where their bus parks daily (Tues-Sat). And we parked and looked at their menu pictures on the bus. I do wish they'd put descriptions of each food item so it's easy to understand what's in things. I had to ask about each item, and she told me. As well as prices- not listed w pic menu. FOOD: We ordered the Baleada Especial-- homemade baleada tortillas (so good!), grilled steak, eggs, cheese, refried beans/ puréed beans of some sort, sour cream maybe, avocado, spices. A mix between a bigger taco and quesadilla. It came with two in an order, for about $10. But she said I could order just one also if we wanted. We got two to share and they were very tasty and the handmade tortillas were amazing. I'd love to try other items next time, like the 'Tacos de pollo' -- they look like big taquitos loaded w good stuff on top. Their other items all look good as well (see my pics). The lady was very nice and helpful. Bilingual. The lady cooking was very sweet, always smiling. They also have breakfast. Honduran food is different from Mexican food, or other types of Latin food, for those new to it. Very delicious and something new to try! They had one picnic table outside by the bus. I loved the art painted on the bus as well. I hope they get more noticed!
