At the end of our trip to Spain I was starting to feel the effects of too much fried food and…read morejamon. So I sought out something different and came up with Barganzo. They had just moved next door so I nearly missed them, luckily an employee outside set me straight. Went inside to a very sleek, modern interior. We did not have a reservation so we ate at the bar. It was comfortable enough and the service was super quick. The menu was online so I will not be able to give the official names to the dishes, but just a description. Shared all these dishes with my husband. We had the zatar swirled bread with labneh and puréed tomatoes. The bread had a slightly sweet flavor, the labneh and tomatoes were perfect compliments. I would have liked the bread to be just a tad warmer, but otherwise delish 9/10. The garbanzo salad was just what the doctor ordered. Fresh, yummy veggies and just a hint of tahini. 10/10 My husband ordered the raviolis Shishparak- which were served with spinach, pine nuts, and warm yogurt. These were off the charts delicious. Super unique flavor, that I will be craving from here on out. 10/10 At the start of the meal we pre-ordered the knafe desert, which was warm cheese wrapped in angel hair phyllo(?) and topped with syrup/honey and pistachios. I have never had anything like it. It was rich, creamy, gooey, crunchy and sweetness all wrapped in one. We were also given a sweet lemon arak shot called arakcito that was a fun digestif. Amazing lunch in a unique restaurant. Absolutely loved our meal here!

However, when we realized it is vegetarian they kindly told us they won't charge us if we leave but they strongly believed we will love it if we stay so we stayed. The starter was truly amazing. It was 4 pancakes with some pumpkin, beets, hummus and nut paste that was unbelievable But the main courses were only ok. Maybe because we really craved meat I mean don't get me wrong hummus is nice but it's not steak The tortellini was good but the mushroom really was just meh. The place had a beautiful ambiance, clean and friendly.

Coming from a full-born Middle Eastern, Falafeleria had some of the best falafel and my favorite…read moresabich ever. You have the option between a bowl and a pita for both, and all the proper accoutrements for a proper falafel. The hummus is exactly what you want and the tahini is to die for. The vibes here are great too, grab a beer with whatever you order. My only complaint would be that they do not give enough fries for the price. other than that, if you are looking for a good falafel or sabich, make sure to give Falafelria a chance.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

This is a veryyyy small cafe/breakfast spot. Make sure to get reservations or go at a not busy time…read morein order to get a seat. There were probably only 20 or so in the whole place. What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)
