Great place!! Food is delicious and margaritas are damn good!! Churros are yummy! Friendly service

Zero rating for zero service this day. Ordered fajita sizzling plate and asked for no onions or tortillas and received burnt tortillas on bottom of plate which was so burnt the food on top tasted scorched. I complained to so called manager and was told that's how that plate is served when you ask for no onions...wth?? I've NEVER had a sizzling plate anywhere w/o onions that served burnt tortillas on bottom. So called manager proceeded to argue and then asked me if I wanted another meal (of course not) I told him to just compensate because I hadn't eaten 1/4 of the nasty plate. He leaves, brings tab and the meal was on there! My coworker tried to explain why it should be removed and he proceeded to tell her same BS and then went to speak to his boss and they came up with half off because that's how the plate is served there and I should've known or asked for a cold plate. I haven't eaten at this restaurant in about 10 years and have eaten at several others who don't serve burnt food when you ask for no onions. It was not busy and we had one ticket sooooo there's NO excuse! Maybe today was a bad day for the cook but anyone with half a brain and that can boil water should know burnt food on a hot plate will make all the food taste burnt! Tip for cook...put the bell peppers on bottom of plate in lieu of the onions! And managers need to accept a table full of diners who all agreed the plate was unacceptable especially when they ate their food which was different than mine!! read more

Go early. This place gets super crowded. We have a lot of Mexican restaurants in our area and you have to be pretty spectacular to stand out. I normal judge a Mexican or I should say a Texmex restaurant by their cheese enchiladas. If they are good, the rest is probably good as well. This place makes some decent enchiladas. They are soft with the perfect amount of cheese. The gravy is very tasty. Overall a decent place. read more

My go-to for quick, delicious and reasonably priced Mexican food! My usual is the enchiladas dinner with cheese, and it comes with 3 generously sized enchiladas and delicious sides. But my family has also tried the fajitas and burgers and loved them too. Doesn't take a long time for the food and love how they include free queso with every meal. Highly recommend! read more

This place is HUGE! Service was very pleasant and they draw quite a crowd. Pros: Even when busy, it didn't feel crowded. They have a great menu, including lunch specials on the weekend. Cons: Would have loved if the food had more flavor and spicy flavors. Also, the bill was a surprise - the margaritas were much pricier than expected. We have eaten here many times, but this was the worst overall experience we have had in a long time. Arrived about 4pm for a early dinner, there was only about 5 or 6 other parties dining and we were seated rite away. The only positive of the evening. It took them over 20 minutes to take our order .it was over an hour before we got most of the food. Witch most of it was over cooked or cold, my nachos were burned on the ends and soggy in the middle, when you tried to pick one up it fell apart. Meat was dry chips wet. Fajita were dry and tasted old, it was another 5 or 6 minutes to get the tortillas to eat them. Tasted like a dirty grill. Enchiladas came with the wrong sause,and nasty. Didn't send anything back because it took so long to get the food in the first place. No one finished their food and no one asked for a doggy bag. The check was brought to the table 5 minutes after the food showed up.. oh by the way they charge $6.50 for half a bowl of queso. The bill was almost $140.00 with out any alcohol. 2 stars for extremely rigid hostesses. We had a party of approximately 35 for a birthday party, we (2) arrived about an hour early to set up. Petty girls at the front refused to sit us until half our party arrived. Ended up standing around for 45 minutes in the cold with many elderly in our party. Why they could not bend the rules is beyond me. Food and drink were excellent however. read more

The food is good and cheap; however the service sucks. I went in with my mother & son. I ordered a corona for my son and the waiter said he could not serve my son because he is underage. I explained that he is 18 and could be served so long as I gave my consent. The server then went and got the manager and he told me that if my last name did not match my sons, he could not serve my son. I told the manager, "Do you have the same last name as your mother?" He smiled and shook his head. ( I do have the same last name as my son, I just felt like the manager was being difficult.) I then asked how he really knew if someone was someone's mother if that information is not disclosed on a license. He continued to make up excuses as to why my son could not have a corona. Ok, whatever. Once, the server returns I ask him for another server since he had refused to serve my son. He said there were no other servers. After he took our order, two other servers came out. When our server returned, I said, "You said there were no other servers but there are two more." He mumbled something in spanish, which I could not understand. While we were eating, other employees would congregate in the corner, just looking at us. I did not finish my food, as this was very unsettling. We paid & left and will not be returning. read more

I have been coming to La Casona for years and it has the BEST FOOD, SERVICE and PRICE for your money. I had a party of 40 people for a graduation party once and the food was perfect temperature, the drinks were cold and our chips & salsa were always being refilled. The atmosphere is also great as was the speed of service. This place is OFF THE CHAIN....I would definitely recommend to everyone!!! read more

This place is AWESOME. I was so happy when I found out that La Casona hadn't closed, they just moved locations. Food is awesome and you can't beat the price. The only issue is that sometimes the service can be slow (it's almost always packed when I go there) and it's still worth the visit. Also, free queso (you have to ask for it) with your chips and salsa. read more

The only thing I can find decent at La Casona is the Enchiladas Americana. The problems with their other food are: 1) the ground beef used in enchiladas, crispy tacos, etc. has absolutely zero seasoning in it 2) melted cheese on their food is some sort of heavily processed American cheese that comes pre-shredded in a 20 lb box 3) their carne asada/beef fajita/skirt steak is very thin and tough as a boot 4) frijoles refritos are not home made, my guess is they are bought in 5lb cans by Gebhardt's In light of item #1 above, the enchiladas americanas are OK only due to the fact the chili con carne on top has some seasoning to compensate for the tasteless meat in the enchilada. When the cashier asks "how was everything ?" don't bother to answer. She will either get very upset that you did not say "great" or "wonderful" but she doesn't ask you why you weren't satisfied; or more likely she will completely turn her attention back to her cell phone before you can answer. With the many more authentic taquerias in Richmond/Rosenberg, don't bother with this chain restaurant. read more

When La Casona was by Ace Hardware, their food was good and usually consistent. Every now and then the chicken fajitas jalapeno were a little overcooked, but still edible. Since they're moved off of Hwy 36, the food has gone downhill, the cheese dip is watered down and the prices increased. We've tried them numerous times and we don't care to go back again. Guanajuato is much better! Food quality is very good and prices are better too. read more

Ordered fajitas for 2 and only received 2 tortillas. Waiter said he would bring more. The tortillas didn't show up for a long time and food was cold by the time they did. When I complained to the waiter he gave the oh well impression. The guy filling drinks was very apologetic and polite. The waiter not so much. Left the cold food on the table and paid the check. Second time coming here and both times was charged more than I was supposed to. First time I was charged 2.95 for a bean and cheese. Charged 12.95 for a 9.95 plate. I hope both times were just accidents but something tells me they were not. Not coming back read more

I went to la Casona recently was not impressed the waiter greeted me one time and then came back to take my order and then when my order came didn't even bothered to come and check on me to see how is everything or fill my drink. Instead I see him all around helping other people out with their food and drinks but not mine was not pleased and I felt like I wasted money on something that did not treat me right!! Will not be coming back to this place and will tell all my friends the same thing sorry La Casona you just lost a customer. read more
