I used to go here and would always get the enchiladas and over time I have decided that a lot of the food that other people have ordered with me are also lacking in flavor. However the one thing my partner and I have decided that we like are the fajitas and I enjoy one of their large burritos. You will always leave full which is awesome! Our family restaurant when we go out together. Has been for years. The staff recognizes regular customers. Mexican music, Mexican decor, Mexican staff. Good choice of items on menu. Salsa and chips, large portions, usually take some home. Prices average. The place is open late. The only negative thing I can say is that the lady there is kinda rude, running a carpet sweeper by your table and under your table from previous clients while you're trying to eat, and often you have to put up with some usually hispanic kids running all over the place. In that culture it seems to be an okay thing. So if that is what "Kid Friendly" means, it's real kid friendly. Tends to be noisy there. read more

I've been here twice. Once a few years ago (it was very busy), and again today. Both times the servers were nice and polite (although they speak in a heavy Spanish accent, and mostly speak it), and both times the service was quick. Most meals are under $7.00, and are pretty good (you also get a free cup of ice cream with every meal, which the kids will enjoy). The place also has nice decor and an open feel, so you don't feel too claustrophobic, even on busy days. The absolute worst service I have ever gotten. The bartenders drinks are all the same and shitty. I ordered a cazuela and my friend ordered a tequila sunrise and they were the same drink just different prices... The food is bad quality and is served fast which means is pre prepared. Really would you like to eat fly salsa dude? We had to wait almost an hour and half for our food. The portions were big it would have been great if the food tasted good. Gross Mexican food, that no real Mexican would love. For starters the salsa is the extremely mild watered down tomato sauce type. I LOVE Chile Rellenos. So that is what I ordered. The perfect Chile Relleno has a whole Chile Pablano, stuffed with a high quality Mexican cheese, dipped in a light egg batter, topped with a medium spicy sauce. This is NOT what I got. I got a blob of egg, I mean BLOB. The ratio of egg batter to chile was 5 to 1. To add insult, they used boring strips of anaheim chile, in a flavorless sauce. My dining partners ordered cheese enchiladas, but got a boring hamburger stuffed one. No spice. If you want 1960's style Mexican featuring MILD and bland food designed to serve non-Mexican people who don't know any better, this is the place for you. Food is definitely ZERO stars. I just left the restaurant 5 minutes ago, so this review is legitimate. First off let me say I was born and raised in California, and to say this place was good, would be an insult to the true Authentic Mexican restaurants that exsist. So, those who believe this is authentic Mexican, need to get out and smell the real tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tortas and sopes cause this place doesn't have them! If a so called Mexican restaurant offers you Taco Bell taco shells, run! If they offer you ground beef, shredded beef, and/or shredded chicken for you're only fillings option, run! If they offer you more yellow shredded cheese and lettuce than rice, run! A true authentic place should offer meats such as but not limited to; asada, al pastor, carnitas, tripas, lengua, and Pollo asado ect... not ground beef... my goodness! Over all this is a definite no, no in my book. I'm Mexican - American and if I ever brought my mom, abuela, tia, and even my cousin here, I'd earn a slap in the face! You should get the point by now! Anyways the server was nice, but slow to get us our check! Please take my advise and go elsewhere, or better yet open you're own Mexican restaurant, a real one, not like this one who claims it is! Went here for the first time today...and loved it! Started out with the chips and salsa..delish. My fiance had the chimichanga plate and I had the combination fajitas. He is not a real fan of mexican food but he liked his chimi...and had a load of rice and beans along with coleslaw. I could NOT believe the amount of food I got for my fajitas. a plate with rice, beans, sour cream and pico de gallo. Two burrito sized tortillas in a warmer...and a HUGE pile of chicken and steak..onion etc sizzling on a hot iron pan. I would say it was triple the amount of fajita meat I have had at some other places. The combo fajitas are $12.50 and with what I brought home we will be able to share a meal tomorrow! Loved the flavor so what a deal! I was very impressed with the service...like a well oiled machine I watched the servers and bus staff filling salsa bowls and water pitchers before you even knew they were empty. You will not eat this food and think you are Mexico, but it is really good Yankee Doodle Mexican food! read more

Went there for lunch today and it was very disappointing. I ordered the fish combo "fish tacos", and they were horrible. The "fish" inside the taco was piping hot as if it had just come out of the microwave, had no taste at all, and the tacos were excessively SMOTHERED in their "white sauce" which tasted like thousand island dressing, but it was white. My family has been coming here since they opened, in fact tomorrow will mark 23 years for us (we came on our son's 1st birthday for the first time). The food is good and consistent, service rocks and the waitstaff, owner and manager are very friendly and will make sure your visit is outstanding. Drinks are excellent and well priced. The fajitas, tortilla soup, taco salads, chips & salsa and seafood burrito are the bomb!! We come for almost every celebration and birthday ... usually eat here 8-10 times a month. Prices are great. Went with my dad who I haven't seen in some time. We ordered food to go and had a drink in the bar. My dad didn't tip for the food so I was going to make up for that on my own. Ordered one drink which my dad insisted on paying for. Noone was at the bar at all after that Until 20 min later when I asked for one more...he was not at the bar at that time either...he was running around the resraurant helping everyone else except us. He came up to me and told me it was obvious I had been drinking and I needed to leave..he was very rude about it. I wish I had been drinking prior cause I just would have laughed and gone elsewhere. But since I was sober I was shocked. It's obvious they were upset that my dad (who's an old guy) didn't tip them....but what they didn't know, is that I was going to make up for that on my card which I was trying to use for my 2nd drink. I wanted to do it without my father knowing. So...I won't go there again. I've been going there since I was a kid. Sad. Since I'm irritated and sober, I thought I would write this review. So they received no tip and I know many who will not go there after this. Treat everyone with respect. Be sure that you are correct when you choose to be aggressive in your delivery of accusing someone of drinking to excess before entering your place of business. If someone is wasted, you don't need to be rude to them either. Unnecessary and very unprofessional. They most definitely did not earn a tip today. And you lost multiple regular customers. My family has been going here for 20 years and the best thing about this place, outside of food is the staff. So kind and courteous.
