Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

It happened to be happy hour so I was able to take advantage of some great drink deals. For my dinner, I ordered the duck with vegetables, potatoes, and added a side of ratatouille. It was all very good and the portions were large for the price. The orange sauce was unique and it seemed to have orange peels in it as well. While this might be more of a touristy spot with this location, it was a true French menu, which was my goal. The food and service were very good and I'll come back.

Tip: Over and above the fabulous pasta, we tried several fish dishes, and they were all excellent and fresh :-) Yes, the food here is phenomenal, but I suggest you make an effort to save room for dessert; their Tiramisu is out-of-this-World good - it's one of the best I've had in recent memory :-)

The pricing is higher than some local spots but that's what you get for eating on the main tourist road. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was fresh, flavourful, and served in very generous portions. The service was fast, attentive, and very clever at convincing us to get desserts (without being pushy). We all felt satisfied and very happy with our meals. Highly recommend any of the pasta dishes, we had four different pastas and all were good. It got busy quickly with a waiting list. Prefix dinners - I got the famous chicken and my wife got the fish. It came with a generous appetizer, see pictures. My wife also got the chocolate mousse dessert. Overall the food was okay. My wife's entree was probably the better of the two. Ambiance - Small local restaurant. Tables squeezed next to each other with very little space in between. One unisex restroom. I did not use it, as our hotel was very close. I washed my hands at the hotel before coming here. Service - Okay, not good or bad. Price - 56 Euros, $65 US; expensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.
