Delicioso. All the food was really good and the service was great. I recommend the empanadas and the guava pastry. Very Colombian and cute.

We decided to start our day by taking a walk at Baldwin Harbor Park, we usually frequent a bagel place near us for a quick breakfast, but we decided to go see what other places there were to get breakfast in Baldwin. I saw on Yelp that this place has gotten many great reviews. I was also excited that it was a little Columbian bakery and restaurant to give us something else to eat than our usual. When we were driving down the street to get to this location, the whole street smelled amazing. We will have to come back to try the other restaurants nearby. This place was very clean with signage reminding customers to wear a mask, and the interior was decorated nicely with Christmas decorations and a tree. They have limited indoor dining and takeout available. We saw that they had really good looking pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and Columbian breakfast platters. I saw that they had pineapple and guava turnovers in addition to the typical apple turnover you see at bakeries. We also saw the huge mound of hot chicken empanadas in a case to our right on top of the display case with the baked goods. So without hesitation we ordered 2 chicken empanadas, 2 guava empanadas, a pineapple turnover and a large coffee. Everything came to about $11. The chicken empanadas were really crispy and flavorful with lots of filling. The guava empanadas were very refreshing and sweet, and the coffee was good. We didn't try the pineapple turnover yet, but I'm sure it's good. After we returned home I found a small thing of sauce that I assume was meant for the chicken empanada, it tasted spicy, sweet and sour and probably would have made the chicken empanadas taste even better! We will have to return again to try ore of their food. I really want to try the arepas and pupusas.

A friend of mine has been raving about this Colombian bakery for weeks so I finally caved in and said let's go for brunch. Man I wish I came here sooner. It's a fairly small shop but has a wide range of baked goods. After we sat and I looked at the menu, I realized wow this place is basically a Colombian diner. After contemplating between breakfast or lunch.. I went with the bandeja paisa (typical dish). This famous Colombian dish comes with rice, baked beans, eggs, sweet plantains, arepa, avocado, steak and chicharron (crispy pork). The rice and beans were delicious. The steak was well seasoned and not dry. Plantains were cooked just right. And of course the best part was the chicharron... it was crispy with a lot of flavor and not rock hard either like some places. All this costs about $15! I was super happy with the meal AND the kind price that came king with it. I will definitely be back and next time I must try their empanadas as well as their baked goods! Yum!!

Nothing is better than a fresh bunelo, pan de queso and/or coffee. La Calidad bring all freshness together with many other baked goods. In addition to their fresh baked goods they have a good restaurant menu. I tend to come here for their fresh breakfast which consist of eggs, arepas Colombian sausage, chicharron, etc...... portions are big and prices are good. I'm a fan and La Calidad is def one of my favorite Shankar restaurants to visit.

Real pandebono and almojábana. I take the LIRR just to get the pandebono. If you're wondering what it tastes like, it's like pao de queijo (that Brazilian cheesy bread (if you've been to a Brazilian restaurant)), but more delicious. Very soft, fluffy, and made well. Overall, very authentic if you're looking for Colombian pastries.

No servicio. Was completely ignored. The workers were too busy gossiping behind the counter.

While she was waiting she asked if they could give her one of her empanadas to eat while there and she sat at an empty table to wait. When her food was ready they charged her 18% gratuity on her whole order for sitting and eating her empanadas while she waited. She demanded to know why considering all she ate there was an empanada and everything else is was to go. They refused but she insisted. They also charge you for the containers of your to go order. That's ridiculous! We will be complaining because they can't mandate an 18% tip for food to go.

The food portion of the menu is made fresh so definitely order ahead. I almost trying all the different items from the bakery and candy section as well. This spot is unique because it's open late and will satisfy any type of craving from salty to sweet. My favorite thing to get is any of the typical platters so much food! Lasts about 2/3 meals mattering how much you can eat haha. The service is nice but sometimes they do mess an order up here and there so just check your food before you leave. Hidden gem! I came here for the first time last week and was excited to try this location as arepas…read moreare evidently their specialty. I ordered one of their signature arepas: The Joint and it was great. It was juicy, packed with a good amount of food and was a nice combination of flavors. As a plantain enthusiast this was the perfect arepa for me. 1 arepa would be filling for the average person. My boyfriend ordered the El Poco Loco for us to split which I wasn't too crazy about - it reminded me of a crispy chicken sandwich and I didn't care for the sauce on this. I didn't bother to eat this after the first bite. Additionally I got to try the tres leches and this was better than I expected. I'm always hesitant to try tres leches because there are so many ways to prepare it. This way was more classic and simple with just the cake and the 3 milks at the bottom. It came served in a square dessert cup. It felt a little small for the price but the taste was worth it. My only constructive feedback for the cake is that the cake would be even better if it was a little less dry as far as texture but that can be hard to balance as you don't want the cake to become too wet over time due to it soaking in the milk. I can't wait to revisit: I'll be getting the tres leches again and would love to try the El Guey.

As a trial I ordered the minis and got one of each. The bread is light and fluffy and the meats sufficient with nothing special about the cheese. They come with different dips of 3. Id say by the color, hot sauce, russian dressing and maybe green guacamole. Also on the menu and purchased was noted sweet plaintains. They were well cooked and just ok for the sweetness. Now the Empanada of ham and cheese was perfectly cooked and fresh. They have a variety of specialty drinks and of course bottled water. (see pix) Their food is Columbian and or Venezuelan and was made fresh. They do not have desserts of which there is an icecream place in their shopping strip and a deli, the later having various puddings for sale.
