Meeehhhhhh. It gets 2 stars because of the stellar location. Great view Of the square. It was otherwise so underwhelming. We stopped in for a coffee and a bite. I wanted a flat white but the waiter didn't know what that was. So I ordered a cappuccino. For food we got a croissant and some toast and bacon. The coffee and food came out quickly, which was nice. But my cappuccino was....not good. If I had to guess it came out of a machine and was not hand prepared. There was almost no foam. The toast? Only toasted on one side. That was kinda odd. When we were done eating we had to request the check three times. We had to walk inside twice to talk to him because he hadn't come out in so long. As we were putting money on the table to simply leave, he came by. Overall, I wouldn't want to have another coffee here - but maybe a beer if I can get a good table to people watch.

While staying nearby with friends for a few days, we found this was one of the few places open very early that we can have a nice breakfast before going on a tour. Prices are reasonable, food is good and the service was quick and pleasant.

We came here mostly for the view and it didn't disappoint! I tried the Belgium sampler, which was a great way to get my feet wet with Belgium cuisine. I will definitely be trying the beef stew and meatballs elsewhere. The chicken dish isn't something that I'd order elsewhere. All in all, a good first stop in Brussels!

Nice location, food is good, service is lousy. I called to book, should have suspected when they didn't take my name. No table was booked, of course. Getting a waiter's attention is a challenge, when they do come, they are nice enough, mostly in French.

This place is in a great location. I expect it would be even better to visit in summer when you could sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the Grand Place while people watching. Since we visited in November we opted to sit inside instead. Inside it was busy, we just about managed to get a table. We were really only there for a hot drink to warm up while we planned our day, so we didn't mind the squeeze too much. What was kind of rubbish was the service. We sat for age before anyone acknowledged us, but when my partner went up to the bar, thinking maybe they didn't do table service, he got sent back to his seat. Eventually, after a very long wait, we managed to get a couple of passable hot chocolates. I don't know whether it's always like this but I'm not sure I'd come again, unless it looked a lot quieter. Given it's location, though, I'd be surprised if it's ever quiet.

The location is the real selling point of this place. Sit in the window and you can soak up the magnificence of the Grand Place while you eat. Food here was pretty solid, not mind blowing michelin star cuisine but not shabby either. I was a little disconcerted by how quickly my food arrived after ordering it, it didn't seem possible that it had been made to order but it tasted good so no big deal. Our waiter wasn't the most attentive I've ever encountered. I asked for a 500ml glass of beer and was given 330ml, when I questioned this he simply told me he had plenty more he could get me should I so desire. However, when it came to bill time he had managed to find the button on the till for a 500ml glass! An oversight I'm sure, it was soon rectified.

We arrived here on a cool, rainy Saturday after a very hot Tomorrowland Music Festival the day before, so the rain and cool temperatures were welcome. This place is quaint and due to the fact that it was cooler outside the window we were seated next to was open, which was nice. Our party of three arrived a few minutes before the rest of our party of four arrived, total of seven. The three of us decided to order as we waited for everyone else. They arrived about ten minutes after us and then placed their order. Some of us just had drinks and some of us ordered food. I had the club sandwich. It was very bland and dry even with the added mayo, but the espresso that I had with it was excellent. Hamburgers were also very good. However the hamburger on the second order never came, but the waiter arrived with the check anyway. When we asked him about the second hamburger he said "oh, I forgot"! We said "never mind then". The second problem was there was only one check. When we asked him to split it he refused, got rude and then just walked off! Well if tourists are your business you really should think about catering to them instead of ticking them off. Just sayin'.

They've got so many offerings, quaint decor on every floor, various places to sit, including a rooftop. It's definitely a touristy thing to do but with over 2,000 beers to choose from, who cares? I loved every minute of it. It's crazy busy at times especially when live music events are taking place. We shared a Yard Stick which were multiple beers (smaller taster sizes). See my pics for exactly how many. Service was exceptional.

They're known for having one of the biggest beer selections in the world, and you can literally spend hours just reading the menu. We ordered their famous beer flight that comes with 10 different types of beers. Each one was completely unique, different flavors, colors, and strengths. It was such a fun way to try a variety without committing to just one. Some were light and refreshing, others were strong and bold. I loved that every glass felt like a new experience. The service was great! The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. They also have a photobooth inside, which was such a fun surprise. Perfect spot to make memories with friends. If you're in Brussels and want the full Belgian beer experience, this spot is a must-visit. So worth it!

Oh where are you Green Fairy? Have you gotten lost or have I failed to find you again?…read more ...it's been years since I've first had absinthe, but hot damn- if there was going to be another time I try this spirit, it was going to be here at Floris. Situated right across from Delirium and next to miss Jeanneke Pis, Floris is the quintessential absinthe bar that everyone should visit in Brussels. If you've never had absinthe (or tasted the watered down variation that the States sells), this is a MUST. It's hard to describe what absinthe is supposed to do to you but it'll come in due time. The bartender we had was extremely friendly and knowledgable about absinthe. They probably get questions all the time so don't fret if you're new. They'll make a recommendation for you based on your taste preference, tolerance level, etc. If you've never made an absinthe drink before, you're in luck. It's a lot of fun dripping water over the sugar cube and distilling it. If you're a brave (or naive) soul, you can simply take it as a shot, but be warned that the effects may come quicker than you can handle. I absolutely loved Floris and will be back the next time I'm in Brussels. (Fitting Yelp review for my birthday post)

Super friendly bartenders, hundreds, yes hundreds of various absinthe bottles from all over the world - including (drum roll) Seattle. Floris offers a unique atmosphere and a memorable experience. Knowledgeable staff is privy to many absinthe fun facts and will gladly share tidbits with you. Now for the main course: we sampled 3 kinds of this infamous spirit. Compete with sugar cubes and flames of course. I can honestly tell you, it tastes like @%&, but gives you a very different yet quick buzz. Eager to get the full experience, one of our rounds included absinthe with the highest concentration of worm wood available these days, which is 35%. P.S. Totally worth a visit, and this is a full bar, so other spirits are available if you so desire.
