I'm starting to get a little board with all of the Irish Pubs scattered about, but then again when you have options such as yet get here in Brussels then an Irish Pub is, well, going to be rather boring. However, this pub was across the road from where I was staying, so I really couldn't stay in Brussels without actually going and checking this place out, which is what I ended up doing. Well, this pub was okay, but the problem was not so much the pub but rather the competition that it had to deal with. The other thing was that it really wasn't my scene, though the crowds that seemed to regularly find themselves outside obviously told a different story. One thing I did notice was that about about 9:00 pm the pub basically became a nightclub, and all of the outdoor tables were removed to be replaced with a couple of bouncers. read more

Well, for my two cents I liked Celtica when I was studying abroad in Brussels. Other reviewers have complained about the music, the crowds, and the tourists. The good news is that if you ARE a tourist the latter won't bother you! Celtica is an Irish pub with good drink specials (beers for 1 or 2€ I believe). The place has two floors: the first floor is a typical pub with tables and lots of people. One time we were there and they had a guy singing cover songs. The other floor is the dance floor and it's crazy crowded, so it's kind of nice to be able to choose between the two floors/atmospheres. I agree with the other reviewer who said that single ladies probably shouldn't venture here alone. On one visit a few guys came up, sat right down at our table, made themselves at home, and were harassing some girls in our group to the point where we actually had to leave. "Hey guys where are we going tonight?.....CELTICA" I don't even care that this place was swarming with tourists! If you go any time between May and August everyone's on holiday so don't get pissed off about the lack of locals. Cheap beers 2 euro before 9 or 10 if my memory serves me right. I like to dance my ass off so after I took advantage of the specials, I met a beautiful man and we danced the night away to house music! Can you say fairy tale?! Ok, that was an over-exaggeration, but the guy and I are still friends and keep up with each other via FB. My friends went here probably 3 nights a week, it's that cool. On our last night in Brussels, I sang karaoke (acapella) to the music of a lone guitarist!! Best night of my life!! The bar and karaoke are on the first floor, and the clubby dance place is on the second floor. I love me some Irish pubs!!! If you're ever in Brussels, you MUST come here. It's dirty and fun!! Celtica - Dance Clubs Near Me - Brussels, BRU

Like marmite: Cheap and cheerful to some, disgusting and skanky to others. Celtica's become a bit of a Brussels institution, mostly with tourists and teenage expats, because it's cheap, loud, and to be fair, can be fun if you're with a group and intent on getting trashed. Beers are €2 (compared with an average of €5 everywhere else), and there's a large smoking room inside where it's impossible not to strike up a conversation with strangers. Plus the music they play is generally pretty good. Lots of crowd-pleasers and sing-along favourites. However, if you're over 25, prefer to drink out of glass than plastic, and don't really like having beer spilt on you, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

I was originally drawn to this bar for the 1€ beer, but was disappointed to discover that there was only one option and it was a very diluted light beer in a smaller glass. This bar is definitely not a scene for young people as the crowd was a majority middle-aged men. The dance floor on the second floor grew more lively as the night progressed, but it was still filled with swarms of creepy men that would come after you if you even tried to dance. read more

Afternoon into evening it was great! Friendly bartenders, GREAT drink prices and soccer on tv. Music was awesome with tons of crowd favorites from all decades. Music too loud, amazing drinks offer (bought two rounds at €4 each), decent cider choice, by 8pm on a Monday it became a middle aged persons pub, toilets were one of the grottiest I've seen - it was like being in prison. read more

Celtica, when you absolutely positively have to drink every penny and brain cell left in your body except no substitute. Always great craic, bartenders and good security. It's in the heart of town and is pretty much the Alamo for drinkers during the summer (I've crawled outta there at 7am) great range of music from trad-rock downstairs to dance rave and hip hop upstairs. Located centrally near the stunning Grand Place. The celtica appears to be always busy,large music bar playing good tunes all day with d.j. at night .Opens 13.00-0500 weedays and later at weekends. Great selection of bottled and draft belgian beers mostly at 2 euros from 1300-0000. Excellent for sky and setanta sports .Nice friendly staff and customers. Best value bar in the city. read more

It's a bit of a dive, if I'm honest. That said, some great music, brilliant atmosphere and cheap drinks! If you're after class, sophistication and elegance this isn't the place for you.
