Decent dinner. I really liked the snails and I tried the frog legs. The French onion soup was ok, decently flavorful. I had the spicy mussels for dinner. They could have been more flavorful to be honest. I liked the duck breast with orange sauce. The tiramisu was delicious as was the lemon sorbet. We were a little skeptical about eating in Grand Place but this place got rated decent online so we decided to try it out. Mainly we wanted to eat and have a great view, even mediocre food would have been ok for us. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that everything we had was delicious. We ordered beers (Leffe Brun) for me, mussels in garlic sauce and also the traditional beef stew. I would recommend both those dishes. Mussels smelled amazing when they came out. The beef stew was thick and hearty, and a sweeter flavor than I am used to but I really enjoyed it. Frites and something mashed came with it. Service was good, menus were in English so it was easy. Of all the restaurants in the square, I would definitely come back to this one the next time here. read more

Hello Tourist! Great city choice! Maybe you are planning your visit, or maybe you happened across this terrific corner in the central square and thought "everything else has been a home run. How bad could it be?" If you peek inside, it likely feels way more legit. Bad news. This food was not good. The dishes, though resembling Belgian fare, is not indicative of all the great dishes you are about to enjoy everywhere else. Mussels-salty (not briny), tasteless broth. Pate- meh, and weird presentation Chicken- kids not a fan Beef in Trappist sauce- no thank you I've erased a final dish from my mind... The beer- soso selection. We went here after weighing all of the tourist trap options and decided that décor was going to win out in the event that every restaurant on the plaza was bad. Nice atmosphere and experience. Service was very attentive. I had the rabbit dish in the beer cream reduction. It was nicely cooked and falling off the bone with a pleasant flavor. There were probably fancier versions of the dish somewhere in the city, but we weren't there Convenience, attentive service, and free WiFi along with the atmosphere really made the experience. read more

Hey if you want to eat in a cave, look no further. It was a cool experience. The service was great, the salmon delicious as were the mussels. We were one of four tables on the inside, the outside patio was packed. It might have been better to eat outside to enjoy the view, but that was our choice. The reason for 3 stars is that because the kitchen is in the cave, it gets pretty toasty hot down there. read more

Located at the Grand Place in Brussels you would think its a tourist trap. Which may be the case, but the food is decent and the location is amazing. Its very cozy and intimate, great for a romantic dinner with someone while visiting Brussels. The food menu was a bit intimidating as i am unfamiliar with traditional Belgian food, but one thing is for sure, if you order beer, it'll be fine as there is no such thing as bad beer in Belgium. 4 stars for location, an underground cave that definitely adds to the experience. read more

I got the cream of mussel soup and the orange duck, at a friends recommendation, as I am not normally a duck person. But this was fantastic. The ambiance here is so nice and relaxing, and fit my mood perfectly. The creme of mussels soup was thick and rich, with a good amount of mussels to enjoy. The duck was the perfect size, very tender, and the orange sauce wasn't overwhelming, but added value to the flavor. read more

Given the location, this place should be a tourist trap: it's right in the Grand Place market square. But there was no salesman trying to lure us in and it's a really low key ambiance. We went downstairs and were promptly seated. We shared two of my favorite things: mussels and rabbit. The rabbit was perfectly cooked and SO tender. The mussels were hands down the best I've had anywhere. I can never eat mussels in the U.S. again! It will never be as good as Cave du Roy. The service was good. The underground restaurant was really cool. This is a great place for a romantic evening. read more

I stopped in here for lunch. It is a cave off of the main square. You go down a set of steps into the windowless restaurant. It was built in the 1940s and is very beautiful with brickwork and chandeliers. I had cheese and onion soup and a glass of wine. All were good and the service was nice. They have a resident cat. I would recommend coming here for the interesting architecture and has a nice break from the crowded Square. read more

We stopped in here for dinner during one of our nights in Brussels. It was a fantastic experience. We sat next to a couple gentlemen who were residents of Brussels but spoke perfect English. They talked with us the entire night about their favorite parts of the city and of Belgium as a whole. It was great to get a local's perspective. The atmosphere was great, it is in a 300 year old underground cellar. The website claims that this is where you can "get to know the soul of Brussels" and it really feels true. People were so friendly. The food was fantastic. We shared cheese croquet and mussels ("mussels in brussels"!) The mussels were as plump as I've ever had...cooked in a garlic butter sauce with shallots and mushrooms. The beer, as in every restaurant in Belgium, was fantastic. We were among the last to leave for the night, just enjoying the incredible ambiance and talking to our new friends. read more

Four stars for interior , it really does resemble a cave and 4 stars for the moules in garlic and white wine sauce. I could've devoured just 3 pots of those babies and even after the last shell was picked clean I was drinking the soup. If only I had ordered the 3 pots.... server recommend a beef stew and Belgian sausage - two Belgian staples I know but the beef stew was not good. Beef was chewy and old not at all juicy and the sauce tasted too much of flour. The sausage was just soso, the bacon not so great but the puréed potatoes weren't so bad. Good location with a cool setup in a cave-like atmosphere. That's really the only positive. Painfully overpriced with mediocre food. I get the feeling they pay off local tour guides to bring massive groups here after viewing the buildings in the city center. Definitely avoid. read more

When we went to this restaurant we got there our waiter asked us what we would like so like every restaurant we said drinks he said no food what would you like to eat it was very confusing and then 6 other people come in and the same thing happened but they left. Our waiter just paced up and down it took us 15 minutes to eat and 1 hour later we got the check I would not recommend this restaurant. But when other people come in who are from this town he is very nice to them. And rude to us. read more

Pretty good Mussels. Got the one with White Wine sauce. Some good taste veggies in the broth. It is right in Grand Place so lots of people around. It's probably a tourist spot to eat, so the price is probably on the high end for mussels, but the food won't disappoint. It's a must try. read more

So good! I was hesitant to enter through the spooky stairwell entrance just off the Grand Palace but I'm so happy I did! The place is cozy and decorated with very traditional Belgian bits and pieces.
