We had fillet mignons, ribeye steaks, chicken pops,soup,steak tartare, taco sushi risotto and fish. All the food was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. I don't mind occasionally having an expensive steak dinner, and I saw this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I got a menu and saw that it was very expensive. I told the waiter that I was from New Orleans and at these prices the food should be really good. I ordered a boneless ribeye $83.00 and mashed potatoes $16.00. The food came out and looked good. The waiter asked me how the food was. I told him that if he wanted a great steak that were really great steakhouses nearby. This was no prime aged steak. It was tough with very little marbeling. The potatoes were like a very thick vichyssoise. I should mention that the restaurant is a Kosher Steakhouse. That is no excuse for mediocre quality food. I used to pay for the sampler $39.99 I have receipts for proof and it came with much more stuff the quantity was big enough for 3 or 4 people they lowered the quantity and the quality after covid they jacked up the price of talking just about sampler not addressing other items to $59 And I just ordered again from them take out and guess how much I was charged for the same item?!?!? $64!!!! Had a really good experience here. Dining room was clean, modern, and nice. I was suspect that they had sushi here but the actual sushi was very good quality and well prepared. I also ordered the bone in rib eye. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly and even though this wasn't a steakhouse, it was one of the better ribeye steaks I've had. Came here for a team lunch last week. This location has a great upscale modern ambiance with a touch of comfort and relaxation. The portions are relatively generous. Steaks, sushi, Americana and etc. The prices are steep but there are not many high end kosher restaurant choices in this area of midtown. Came here with our VIP client for lunch. For the 4 of us, we ordered Sushi platter for appetizers, a Chirashi, a Tuna Nicoise salad, a filet mignon and a prime rib plate. No alcohol and the bill was $325 not including tip. The sushi/chirashi taste and quality was average to below average, certainly does not warrant the price. The filet mignon I did not try but the ribeye was pretty good. I ordered the Cobb Salad , Peppercorn Prime Filet , the Whipped garlic Mashed potatoes, and a apple tart for dessert. The salad was ok tasted like it had a little bit of lime in it. Horrible experience last night (Valentine's Day) Drove 4 hours to NYC to try this place out. Arrived for my reservation was told it was gonna be a hour... How if I have a reservation? Then the host said to me " I don't know what to tell you if you wanna wait you can wait... About an hour later we're finally seated... Took 20 mins to get water another 20 minutes for silverware. Finally the waiter with the pony comes to the table no hello no introduction of himself just "What do you want?" We put our food order then the water finally arrived at the table. Ordered a glass of wine and a ginger ale 40 mins later it still hadn't arrived. May I have the check I put have cash and my card... The nerve of this guy to think he had a $90 tip and charged it all to my card. I asked the MGR why did everything get charged to my card if I gave you half cash. She walks to the waiter and said what happened... Come the find out this guy pocketed my cash and never applied it to the bill... Crazy right? I'll never visit this establishment if a customer service failure from start to finish had a face this would be it... My girlfriend and I had a Valentine's Day reservation for 8:30 PM. Upon arriving at 8:30 PM we discovered that they double booked and overbooked all of their reservations and didn't honor most of the reservations they came through open table. We did however notice that the dining room was predominantly Caucasian and they were leading others in who were also Caucasian (probably regulars) in and seating them without asking for a reservation. After almost an hour wait they found seating for us which happened to be in a storage closet in the attic of the restaurant with no waitstaff, poor lighting and no music. Also, Servers, mangers and hostesses weren't wearing masks. Dining room was at 100% capacity. We arrive to find the room filled with people of color and myself a Caucasian Jew with an Asian girlfriend. One of the ladies sitting with her date pointed out The same thing that I mentioned earlier about Caucasian Jews being sat downstairs and people of color forced to wait. As a Jew, I felt extremely embarrassed and apologized on behalf of Jews saying most of us are nice people actually. I hate this restaurant. After sitting there for 20 minutes we found out another couple who is supposed to be there at 6:30 has been waiting for three hours and has not yet received their check at 9:30 PM. I stormed out of this place in a fury and will never give them my business again and I encourage others to not give their patronage to this business as well. They are blatantly racist and have no professionalism whatsoever for a restaurant that charges $50 or more per dish. Absolutely disgusting behavior. read more

In a nutshell, worth every penny. As we all know, kosher food is pricey and La Brochette is no exception. However, this sushi steakhouse is a midtown east gem. It is conveniently located on Lexington Avenue, not too far away from Grand Central Station and many midtown offices. The ambience is dim and quiet, which is nice if you want to have a conversation. Service was attentive, helpful, polite but without being overly effusive. Our waiter provided us with the daily specials and made helpful suggestions. My friend and I each had the grilled watermelon salad. It may sound odd but it was heavenly.... The watermelon had the texture of a filet mignon. If I could recreate that myself, I could almost become a vegan, almost. He had an order of edamame and I had the CC roll. The sushi was fresh and it was a delicious. Next, dessert. I had the cheesecake and he had the apple crumble. Both were totally yummy and a great way to end lunch. Overall, La Brochette has a very inventive menu, great service, and provides a lovely setting to enjoy a good meal. Second visit, very pleased. Comfortable white table cloth restaurant, with warm and capable service. Very good food - wife's Caesar salad was chopped fine at her request. Both her Poulet Marseille with wine and mushroom sauce and my Poulet Roti were done well and flavorful. The parve Napoleon for dessert was ok. This place is an amazing restaurant. They have two private rooms that are elevated on opposite ends of the restaurant and high ceilings in the middle. In the back of the restaurant they have another fishbowl private dining area. They have a small bar up front when you walk in, to your right. I was greeted very nicely at the front door and they confirmed my reservation, took my coat and even though I came earlier than my wife and early for the reservation, I was seated promptly. I ordered a glass of wine and the waiter came by and chatted a bit about the specials. My wife came about 20 minutes later and the service was great. Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Tomahawk steak that everyone raves about, since I figured it must be good. HOLY COW!.. yes, pun intended! What a freaking steak! I ordered it medium and it came medium.. The bone was about 12 inches long and a bit awkward, but I really didn't care. Now mind you, its a 21 ounce steak, without the bone. Damn, I ate the whole thing to the bone. My wife ordered the branzino and loved it as well. She didn't want any starches so they accommodated with vegetables. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that they didn't mention how much the steak was.. even though it was so worth it. It was a $100 steak. No wonder it had to be amazing. At least offer something to your guests to convenience them for the time wasted. And on Valentine's Day at that?! They even had my personal contact info, at which point they should have reached out to let me know what was happening, which they did not. The menu was less than 1/2 of what was advertised and the service was less than satisfactory.
