Two hours before we were due to check in, they called and told us they had overbooked and could not honor our reservation! They did help to find us other accommodations: for the same price they found a place that was in absolutely no way comparable 20 miles away. The poor desk clerk was left to deal with us. The "Director" at Auburge do Joli Vent would not make eye contact with us or speak to us. We had traveled all the way across the continent to be in Knowlton and our vacation plans were totally destroyed. We lost half a day just arguing with them and getting other vastly inferior accommodations. The compensation for our trouble: They offered us a cup of coffee!

It's such a lovely area and in case you forget your cell phone, there's a handy Bell phone booth on the premises before you go into the restaurant. Having grown up in Montreal, this was like going home and entering the warm and welcoming Quebequois eatery. The big screen tv was on, and above it were Montreal Canadiens' hockey shirts. I saw they had an extra room off to the left of the entrance for additional customers. We were immediately seated at a bench in the main part of the restaurant facing the kitchen and provided menus.
