I wanted another go at a steak but I didn't want to travel far from my hotel so I seen an Argentinian restaurant not too far that served steak so I decided to check it out. It was early in the day so I caught the lunch menu and it was fairly empty. I ordered my usual, medium ribeye and fries. It didn't take long to come out. The fries (chips) were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and perfectly salted. The ribeye looked pretty good upon initial inspection. I took a few bites from the end and it was delicious! Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked in the middle. I sent it back... ate all my fries because they were so good and ordered some more lol. When the new steak arrived it lacked everything the other steak had in regard to flavor but it was cooked properly. I was starving so I finished it but I was kind of wishing that I kept the first steak. I'd give them another shot if I'm ever around

Look at that crap! Who BURNS hard boiled eggs? The same people who are making your steak and forgetting to refill your waters.

I'd like to start by listing all the positives about this place. And now that that's over, let's get to the reality. I've never seen anyone manage to burn a hard boiled egg. Not just one, but in this case, the entire batch. I Shiites have realized that this is the level of attention they put into their entire operation. In fact, it's approached with the same lackluster attention to the customers. The food is awful, and the service is even worse. You don't quite know who your server is, which I suppose is a positive. I imagine if we knew who our server actually was, I'd make witness drown in their own pool of tears. Unfortunately, there's nothing else close for families, you less you want to take a $10-$15 (each-way) cab ride or 1 mile walk to someplace with food that's human consumable.

I happened to be staying at a nearby hotel and rather than order something random off the room service menu I walked over to this gem to get some authentic Argentinian food. The full menu was not available since it was three pm but I made do with an express menu order of steak and rosemary sea salt fries with an extra meat order of the pork belly on the side. I was starving and this meal hit the spot. Presentation was on point, flavors were well developed and the beef was tender. It literally melted in my mouth. The pork belly came with a perfectly crispy crackling on top and layers of flavorful pork. The meal came with a sauce on the side. I chose the au jus but the flavors were so well developed and everything was so tender that I didn't use any of it. The express meals runs a mere $15 although I paid an additional $5 for the extra side of pork belly (which was pretty generous for that price). I'm determined to return in the future in order to try out the full menu. I washed everything done with a pint of bulmers cider which this place carries on tap. At $12 a pint I might pass on the cider next time around. Although other reviewers were not happy with the service I didn't have any issues.

Waiting for a flight, at a loose end mid Monday arve. Wander into this place and order a Carlton draught from a monotone bartender with the people skills of Trump. Okay I didn't check the price list and let's just say I bloody should have, 11.50!! Pants pulled down on the price of that "not quite an actual" schooner. ANYWAY Ordered the pork belly lunch special with slaw and chimichurra sauce. $15. Mind blown and all forgiven. Perfect melting meat with great crackling, fresh tasty slaw and zesty sauce. Only took 15 min too. Get in there, skip the bar and dig into the signature meats!!!

There is Argentinian Asado in Sydney. This can be found at La Boca Restaurant inside the Airport Stamford Hotel, Sydney. This provided us with fond memories of our visit to Argentina last year, which was a culinary highlight for us and Asado became our favourite food. This is where the meats are cooked on the Asado or Parilla grill (meat mounted on a rack, cooked over an open flame) by the Asador (BBQ Chef/meat master) and this stuff is next level. Whilst we're not all going to Argentina for this, we can experience it in Australia, through the Stamford Hotel and at their Hotel Restaurant, La Boca.La Boca is named after the suburb in Buenos Aires, the area filled with colourful houses which has inspired the decor of this restaurant. The walls are draped in a vibrant print reflecting the colours of La Boca. However, the big draw card and main attraction is the Asado, with flames roaring and the meat neatly sitting above cooking and taking on flavour from the method of cooking, it is impressive and something to behold. The restaurant also has a fully stocked bar, with the bar staff preparing a range of cocktails and they also have a range of wine and craft beer on offer. We have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions but returned for a dining event with some fellow foodies. We sampled Argentinian wine - Malbec, paired with the traditional Argentinian cuisine.Empanadas are common fare throughout South America and the La Boca version have a nice crisp doughy outer casing and have a tasty filling of corn, beef and lamb. The only problem, we were left wanting more, but knew the feast had only just begun. We have already mentioned the Asadors are meat masters and this technique was on show and translated into seafood too, with their amazing squid. Beautifully tender and marinated in a lime dressing, with capers and chives. The Traditional sausage sampler is another insight into the Argentinian passion for preparing and cooking carnivorous delights. The sausages are juicy and have plenty of flavour. The last of our entrees was the delicious Provolone Croquette. The mains we shared were all mouthwatering quality meat based dishes. They use locally sourced 100% grass-fed, choice Australian meats. The use of Asado and Parilla based cooking Is designed to enhance the flavours of the meat through the grill over Australian redgum and Argentinean charcoal. To sample a bit of everything the La Boca Signature Fire Grill is a good option. A mixed share platter of meat lovingly cooked over open flame for 8 hours, including the free range pork belly and lamb asador. This also comes with skirt steak, pork sausage, salt bush lamb sausage and chicken.Cooked on the Parilla Grill was the Entrana skirt steak, which was a favourite (and the favourite of all other diners too). It was a thin cut, which was super succulent and served with a chimichurri sauce. This also features on the Laboca $15 express lunch menu, well worth stopping in for.A higher grade steak on the menu was the 42 day dry aged steak sirloin. A lovely cut of meat with plenty of flavour, also grilled on the Parilla and cooked to order. We also got an Argentinian corn cake - traditional corn and pumpkin hot cake with grilled mushrooms and salad. The group finished off with dessert which included a soft flan type dish - the Pear clafoutis (red wine and poached pear almond cake), a slice of the chocolatey and coffee flavoured traditional espresso caramel cake which was rich and decadent. A must order is their Churros with caramel fondue, another Argentinian Specialty. These light and fluffy doughy sticks of goodness add freshly fried and perfect to dip in a pot of dulce de leche (caramel). The meal here is unreal and we absolutely loved it. We would highly recommend coming to try their Adado and authentic Argentinian fare.

The 850 gram of medium-rare steak presentation looked really nice in its simplicity. Immediately on the first bite, The steak was soooo flavorful and beefy. And the right amount of saltiness came through. Just the exact salt on the crusts for our taste. The crust was heavenly too. Can't describe how good the "just right amount of salt" added to the flavor. I found myself keep eating the steak just like that, without any add-ons or sauce, and still didn't get tired of it after the 3rd or even the 4th strip. We did order a bone marrow sauce, but we didn't like the sauce (thought it tasted fishy), and just kept eating the steak like that. Occasionally cleaned our palate with some salads and wine. Such juicy and beefy steak! The fat on the rib eye was so juicy as well, changing up the taste nicely. The amount of steak was just right for us 2. It was so good we almost were still craving for more at the end.

The vibe here was laid back sports bar with a focus on beers, wine and simple drinks. Sadly, the beer list was short and standard (Australian macrobrews like VB, Carlton, etc.) The short food list was actually better than I expected, with a selection of apps (wings, meatballs), entrees (burgers, steak, salmon) and desserts. It was certainly enough to suit me, so I ate here for dinner and watched some local sports (continuing my increasing fascination with cricket). My burger and fries were pretty good, and just what I wanted. But after a few mediocre beers I decided to test the bar by ordering something basic. Specifically, I asked for an Old Fashioned (It's a never-ending quest). The young bartender got busy, muddling some fruit, adding sugar and bitters, before finally adding the liquor (which I couldn't see). The result tasted familiar, but strange...REALLY strange. I sipped slowly, but it never got any better. After about 15 minutes, the bartender proudly showed me the single malt scotch he made it with... [Insert Forehead Slap here]. No wonder it tasted strange - This drink is made with Rye or Bourbon only; and what a waste of a single malt! Dear management- you might want to think about training your bartenders to do something more than pour wine and beer.

If you drive, make you go early as it can be difficult to get a parking spot, though the owner informed us of a parking station across the road at a $10 flat rate. It is a great meet up spot for a quick bite to eat if seated at the train, or a dinner with friends near the airport. It is basically the concept of a sushi train, but serving Lebanese cuisine. There are plenty of options on the train, but you can also order hot foods from the grill. You can also have made to order. All seatings come with a basket of pita bread and crispy fried pita bread to be used with the dips. We tried all the dips on offer; including hummus 'lord of the chickpeas' (chickpea with tahini and garlic), baba ghannouj (smoked eggplant with tahini, garlic, and lemon), and labne (strained yoghurt with olive oil). They were all a nice consistency and very tasty. From the cold mezza plates, we tried the 'shanklish' which was a salad; seasoned and served with diced tomato as described by them 'the goods' and it certainly was. We also had the 'arnabeet' - fried cauliflower, always delicious, as was the Haloumi. You can't go wrong with fried anything. These were also a Vegan and Gluten free option. From the warm mezza plate options we tried the sambousek and kibbeh - minced beef in pastry shells with onion and lightly fried. My husband tasted the warn enab; similar to dolmades: vine leaves wrapped around rice, tomato, parsley. As great combination to try with the dips. There are numerous vegetarian and vegan options to try including the falafel (my personal favourite) as well as gluten free selections. From the grill, the Lebanese barbeque, this was cooked hot to serve. It included shwarma chicken served with garlic sauce which was a favourite of my husband. There was also shwarma lamb. The maanet were mini beef sausages, also very tasty. The Kafta was very nice - lamb mince with parsley, onion and garlic. There were more options; which made good accompiaments for the meat including the fattoush which is a tomato salad, tabouli and the kabees pickled vegetables. There are so many choices but we couldn't try them all - so full but my husband did make room for some sweets. He tried the baklava which was very tasty but his favourite was the knafeh - a semolina mixture with melted cheese, crushed pistachio drizzled with orange blossom syrup. A different version to the bearded brothers, but just as tasty. Because the dishes are small plates, it gives you the opportunity to try many things which is great. Will have to definitely come again sometime. There are a wide range of alcoholic choices; wine, beers and cocktails as well as soft drinks and juices. The owner and staff there were very informative and hospitable. He tells us that the food is just as good as his mothers, as many of his guests would agree. Just don't tell their mums ;) A great experience to dine here and we'll definitely be back for a revisit.

So i loved the idea that that its sushi train but with Lebanese food :D!! Place wasn't so busy probably only cause not many people have found out about the place yet. They had heaps of dips, sweets and warm food circling around.. they had 5 different plate prices, dips being the cheapest and meat being the most to pay. Overall the dips, soft & crisp bread, falafel, some sweets and everything else apart from the meat was what was expected.. tasty :). The meat was not bad but not the best tasting. I guess when I've been to other Lebanese Restaurants like Jasmin or Al Aseel you compare every other Lebanese Restaurant to them.. Also when it came to ordering meat dishes of the menu or drinks it was only 1 girl taking those orders down for the whole place.. when you ask any of the other people running around they apologise and point to the 1 girl to ask her to take the order. All in all i loved the Lebanese Train Idea and the extremely friendly staff, I did leave with a full stomach & it ended up costing about the $50 mark or a bit more per person to be well fed.

The bar has plenty of seats and tables to sit at. We came in for drinks and food prior to checking into our room. We decided to go with the biggles, all beef hamburger and steak fries, and also the fried calamari. For drinks, we had local Australian draft beer. The bartender was nice and welcoming and answered any questions we had. The burger and calamari came out fairly quick, and the bell was rung to pick up our order. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the cheese melted perfectly. The bread was big and beautiful and slightly toasted while the fries were golden brown. They had a condiment pump dispenser pumping out tomato sauce or also know and ketchup with mayonnaise and BBQ sauce. The calamari wasn't the greatest, but the sweet and sour sauce was quite tasty. Overall, it was a great place inside a hotel to have drinks and sit back and relax after a long day in Sydney. The food and customer service were on point, and I'll gladly come here again if ever in the area.
