They were able to take us with no prior reservation which was great! Really authentic ambiance, it feels like the place has been there for a long time. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and spoke both French and English. The menu also was in both languages which was uber convenient. We went with combo dinner that included (1) a choice of an appetizer, (2) a soup or small salad, (3) main course, and (4) coffee/tea. The pricing for the whole thing was very affordable - 38 to 52 Canadian dollars which is a steal if you are in the US. The desserts are at extra cost - 7-9 Canadian dollars... Both my friend and I enjoyed our food. The highlight was the melon with blue cheese appetizer - very elegant and eclectic dish that doesn't compare to anything I tried before. The rabbit leg with prune sauce was also unusual and a must-try. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area next time.

Sadly, this place seemed well beyond its expiration date. The word "tired" comes to mind. The beef…read moredishes were non-descript. Onion soup was just OK. The vegetables were boiled to insipidness. Our waiter was up-beat and very attentive, describing the menu in glowing terms and making a valiant effort to raise our dining experience from the dead. But when you're dead, you're dead. We really wanted to like this place as a friend, who knows food, had recommended it. He enjoyed a meal there several years ago. I hope that they rediscover their glory days.

I honestly wish I could remove the yelp minimum 1 star and give this place a very solid zero…read more The food was awful. I could have been mistaken but it seemed that the only food available was one of four dishes, this was evidenced by The menu identifying either "repas de midi" (noon meals) or "repas du soire" (evening meals). The four evening meal dishes were Lamb merguez with couscous, vegetable couscous, Duck confit and salmon. I ordered the lamb, wife ordered duck confit. We ordered a bottle of wine to share Our server sat down at a desk to put our order, already placed with the kitchen, into their PoS, when an older lady approached her the, two were in earshot and I was clearly able to hear her say, in french, "I told you earlier we were out of the couscous". I braced for the inevitable but didn't think anything of it as The waitress didn't say anything about it when she delivered my wife's salad. I felt relieved. Until fifteen minutes later she came back with the news she'd had for at least twenty minutes. And said " do you want to order something else". In retrospect, I should have said no. I don't like fish or duck...duck is my preferred evil. She disappeared behind the wall and came back about a minute later with our two meals. 1- Confit duck with cranberry sauce. 2- veggies: string beans, zucchini, red peppers 3- scoop of parboiled basmati rise 1 - duck confit A solid quarter inch of fat on top of the meat absolutely drowning in cranberry sauce. The confit looks as though it came directly out of the bag and onto the plate, it wasn't crisped up, no Maillard reaction, just boiled in fat. Cranberry sauce was overly bitter. Meat was so painfully salty that it took three or four glasses of water just to get through it. 2 - veggies The string beans were over cooked and mushy. The zucchini was the star of the whole meal. 3 - parboiled rice. I don't know if I really need to say any more than this side would have been improved if it was served with an ice cream scoop. Old french music playing in the back ground does not a fine dining experience make. Several other reviews have said they have an excellent wine list. There were 5 reds, 5 whites, one sparkling, 2 rose. I've seen more extensive lists at Boston Pizza. This was the worst meal of my life, and I've eaten hot dog soup. I honestly wish we had celebrated my 35th birthday at a McDonald's.

Nostalgic music playing in the background, against the backdrop of a beautiful home and hostess from Brittany, France let you know you have found the real deal when it comes to buckwheat and sweet crêpes! Sipping traditional Bretagne cider and eating homemade cheese, ham and egg and Catalan crêpes, alongside a organic and locally grown salad out on Marie's porch, was pure bliss! The sweet banana and chocolate crêpe, and sweet fruit crêpe with fresh ice cream put the cherry on the cake, so to speak. I look forward to having the opportunity of dining here again. It will forever be one of my favorite memories with my family!

The restaurant is pretty spacious and like other reviews mentioned, is quite dimly lit. Knowing that, I asked to be seated where there was lighting (Oh the better to see you with, my dear...food) and the waiter willingly obliged. I loved the artwork in the resto by Marie-Lyse Beaudoin. The two to three separated dining areas gave the place a real intimate feel. We had the two colored soup of the day: half beet and half broccoli and oh boy was it delicious! It's kind of fun trying to take the soup without letting it mix together. Then came the smoked trout with a small side of salad. The trout was so smooth and salted just right but it was a small piece and I wanted more!! When you're in the Eastern Townships, you simply cannot NOT eat duck! I ordered the Duck Duo and I'm about to shed a tear it was flavored so nicely with maple and balsamic on half and parmentier of duck confit on the other. I gobbled it up like a hungry woman :) Other reviews said to try the lamb from the classic menu so we said what heck, bring me some lamb. That crispy coated lamb chops are so well seasoned, you'll even want to nibble it off the frenched ribs. I know I did. I'm a fan of crème brûlée so whenever I see it on the menu, my stomach tells me I gotta order it to try. This one did not disappoint. Overall, this was such a lovely, memorable experience. I would love to go back again!

Our server, Gibelle, was professional, welcoming, and provided us (along with her team) a smooth dining experience from start to finish. She also made sure that there was excellent timing on service throughout the meal. The food was outstanding. My husband ordered Steak Frites. I had the Tartelette de Champignons. Both dishes were delicious (I got to share a bite of the Stake Frites) The Tartelette was rich with the medley of mushrooms, beautiful pastry crust, and a rich blend of of eggs and cream to hold it all together. For dessert we shared Mousse au Chocolate and Taste au Citrion en Verrin. The only downside was we were so full, we could not finish them, The space is open and light with tables spaced out and benches around the outside. The whole space was clean, modern and airy. This is the sort of restaurant I would come back to Burlington just to have dinner here! Yes - I would include this restaurant on my "I would drive out of my way to eat here" criteria.
