The service is amazing and the food is wonderful. I always enjoy mussels or steak when in Magog.

Nice place. The food was good but one meal was not. When we sat the drink and appetizers were served quickly, then we sat....some seated after us were finished before our meal arrived. Our waiter promised to look into why but no reply. A simple salad with chicken was way overcooked. The rest of the meals were good. Quite disappointed. read more

We weren't sure the reviews would hold up - many restaurants on our trip seem to be over rated - but Pinocchio really was delightful and we would return. We had leek soup - super delicious. Then the mussels, which weren't in a traditional white wine broth but instead a bit spicier cumin (we think) - but delicious nonetheless. Dessert was included and a chocolate cake which was so tasty. There is a lot of value for what you get - helpful and friendly service, and delicious food. read more

I'm glad that our hotel concierge recommended Pinocchio. They have a good and affordable lunch menu! You pay for the entree and get bread, soup or salad, dessert, and coffee or tea with your meal. I got the $19 mussels in wine broth and fries and it's the largest mussel dish I've ever received. I also got the octopus with hummus appetizer which was only $5 extra at lunch - a delicious steal! My partner got the $14 pasta of the day which was a macaroni in spicy meat sauce; it was slightly bland but better after you mix in the sauce that settled on the bottom of the plate. The meal included their dessert of the day which was a caramel chocolate mousse cake that was good! You can also pay extra for other desserts. read more

This is a wonderful classic spot, it is in the middle of a construction site, but in the evening you would never know that and you don't have to go deep into the area which is being reconstructed to get to the restaurant. The service was excellent and the wait staff was courteous and very professional. They have an excellent wine list and menu with a lot of variety. My wife had chicken paillard which she loved. However, there was some pink in it despite her asking for them to over cook it (just the way she likes chicken), and there was little flavor to it. She loved it but I'm not sure everyone else would have. I had lamb shanks which were excellent. read more

Best dinner we've had this trip - Montreal, Magog, Quebec City, Charlevoix and Saguenay. Best to have reservations otherwise you're eating inside which was fine with us. Ordered the duck breast - excellent sauce, scallops - huge!!!, seafood w/ rice( 30 min cooking time) - so much seafood!!!! and steak and we were all satisfied with our choices. The calamari entree was also excellent- nice sauce that's good for bread dipping. You have to ask for the bread. Our waitress was very helpful w/ the translation and refilled our water glasses and always made sure we had a bottle on the table. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!!! read more

Came here on Friday because the line on Thursday night told us that this place was probably good and it did not disappoint. Posh atmosphere, nice outdoor seating, comfortable chairs, excellent service, great wine list. We had the blood pudding, salmon tartare appetizer, Beef tartare, and lamb chop with Israeli cous cous special with an extraordinary bottle wine (which was half off because it was Friday!) The beef tartare was the best I've ever had in my life. The lamb chops were black and blue which my husband normally hates, but they were so delicious that he ate them all anyway. Base on previous reviews, my girlfriend and I decided to celebrate our special event with supper at Pinocchio. I called on Friday at 6:30 pm requesting reservations for Saturday at 6:30 pm. No one picked the phone up, but a message instructed me to leave the information for my reservation. The next day, we showed up on time to be told by a young lady that they didn't have reservation in my name. She got a senior staff who verified and confirmed that we didn't have a reservation. I told her that I did my reservation by phone. She informed me their phone reservation didn't work properly and never answer the phone. I asked her if we could get in only to be told they were full and they could only accomodate us late in the evening. That lady didn't offer any apologies and didn't seem to be concerned with out predicament. In my opinion, it is very rude from a business to behave in this fashion specially considering the present financial situation resulting from the Covid and also knowing there is only a few weeks left in the tourist season. The owner must be filty rich to turn customers away. From what I have observed, the only thing that is true about this place is that Pinocchio's nose is growing. My score is a big fat 0 star, but this site doesn't allow it. Change your phone message. read more

My husband and i love to stay at an inn in nearby Hatley. They recommended Pinocchio to us... think they have an arrangement with the restaurant, but no matter. Pinocchio was great. Very modern, sleek decor, attentive staff, delicious food. We will go back! read more

We drove through Magog by chance on our way to Quebec city once , and were so surprised by the quality of restaurants in this small town that it has a become a destination escape for us, a very easy and beautiful 4 hour drive from Boston. Pinocchio is a must for oyster fanatics - with rare offerings like oysters from iles de la Madeline which you will never see in Boston/Portland. Quebecois restaurants often incorporate apples, duck and foie gras, so you will not be disappointed with anything on the menu that has those ingredients. There are many B&B's in town that are walking distance to Pinocchio. read more

Absolutely amazing food. Their calf liver was perfectly cooked-- tender on the inside, without any of that off-putting "liver" taste from badly prepared liver dishes, and beefy on the outside. Their seafood stew had a very rich, tomato-based broth, and they were very generous with all of the different types of seafood they added. When the waiter came to pack away the leftover stew (there was so much we couldn't finish it!) we offhandedly mentioned that there didn't seem to have been any octopus or squid... and when we got the packed dish back from the kitchen, the chef had added some octopus and squid for us! read more

We are from Massachusetts, USA, traveling to Quebec. We stopped in Magog overnight, and ate at Pinocchio on a Monday night in March, not the busy season. The food and service were superb. We both had steak, I the top sirloin, and my wife the filet, both tender and cooked perfectly. The soup (potato and carrot) and salad (plain greens with balsamic dressing) also were good. The beef tartare and the octupus (calamari) were OK. Prepared well, but not quite to our taste. We recommend it highly.
