Amazing experience! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Definitely a 5-star spot--I'll be back!

A customer noticed that my brother and I looked lost so she asked us if we wanted to order. The amazingly nice lady made some recommendations and told us about all of the wonderful dishes available. She was so nice. She treated us like family and brought the busy chef out to introduce to us. I think the chef's name was Flor. The food was great. I would come back just because the other customers were so friendly. The chef seemed a bit shy but had a nice smile and was very welcoming. I really felt I had been invited to my aunties kitchen for dinner. Such a lovely restaurant and great customers. Please support this place and give them your business. They are new to the business so please be patient. Come down and take some great Haitian food home to your house to enjoy with your loved ones. I'll be back for the beef patties and soup as recommended by the lovely auntie in purple. I forgot to ask her name, but she was a darling.

I did take 1 star away bc my dad called way in advance to place the order. They said it would be 20-25 min but when we got there they told us it would still be an additional 25 min. How does that even make sense when we got there after 30-45 min which was purposefully done just to avoid this. He then asked if he could add on to the order and the wait increased so he just said never mind. We got the large griot which was plentiful. Griot pieces were not all fatty. Pikliz was good could be spicier but overall a decent meal

My husband happened to see a van with the logo for Akra Haitian Deli when we were driving in Queens…read moreand we saw they are located in Huntington area. We are looking to live out east and decided to take the drive to see how the Haitian food was! Honestly, we have tons of Caribbean food in Queens/New Hyde Park area, but Akra was well worth the drive! We ordered the Jerk Chicken with Duriz Djon Djon- 10/10 recommend. The jerk chicken wasn't too spicy, it was juicy and flavorful. They also gave three big pieces! The rice was also well cooked and not too salty. We also ordered Griot with Bannan peze- it's a requirement if you're going to eat at any Haitian establishment. The woman dishing out food out said "this meat is a little dry. Sorry." We ordered it anyway and it turned out to be pretty good! The bannan was a little soggy, but really that's part of ordering takeout for certain food items. Lastly, we bought two bottles of their lemonade and it was delicious! A great balance of sweet and tangy! We would definitely come back!

I've tried Akra Deli multiple times, and while the food itself is delicious, the customer service…read morehas consistently been disappointing. On my first visit, everything was great. However, my next two experiences were extremely frustrating. During my boyfriend's early-morning visit, he was initially told there was no food available--even though the restaurant had just opened. Only after insisting did they offer limited options. Most recently, I ordered through Uber Eats and spent about $70. The containers were small and arrived half-filled. When I called to address the issue, the manager explained that because they pay Uber Eats fees, they don't provide full portions for delivery orders. That is not something any customer wants to hear, nor was any solution (like a coupon or replacement) offered. The food at Akra Deli tastes great, but the lack of consistency, poor customer service, and reduced portions for online orders make it hard to recommend. If you do choose to order, I strongly suggest going in person, otherwise you will likely not receive the amount of food you paid for. Overpriced and poor customer service!

Their customer service is impeccable. It's not easy to find Caribbean restaurants that put a cashier that is actually nice and humble. They're usually mean. The gentleman and lady are charismatic, they joke with you, they put you at ease and arrange the food to go. They listen to what you want to order and sometimes help you decide what you want if you're indecisive like I am. The guy is patient. Even the cook is nice. They quickly acknowledge you as soon as you step into their establishment. The food is good. My favorite dish there so far is the fried red snapper. I love how crispy and well seasoned it is. I wish they improve the pate kòde though. They need to have a better farin (flour) done overnight and more ingredients in the pate instead of so much dough. Other than that, I recommend these guys a 100%. I hope their business booms and they add another restaurant by Wood ave or Fairfield ave? One can only wish.

I did happen to eat here once before and I enjoyed the food, but recently I was treated badly and we were hung up on a few times. Talk about reverse racism.
