Went for lunch on a Sunday. While service is a little slow, the food is bang-on and flavorful. For apps, got the crispy conch and accra (fried malanga root) - these were surprisingly good. Fried well and they both came with accompaniments of sauces and salads that really paired well with the fried foods and made the dishes pop. We were a group of three and for mains got the jerk chicken plate, griyo pasta, and braised oxtail. They know what they're doing with meats - chicken, pork, and oxtail were all super tender. Stopped by for Mother's Day brunch. Drinks were on point. Tasty and you could tell there's alcohol. Not cheap tasting either. Just how I like it! Accra and kibbeh were the chosen appetizers. Both very delicious. I do wish the breading for the Accra was a bit lighter but oh man the flavors were A1. Pikliz was everything. The only thing I would say is we didn't enjoy the mayo spread on the bottom. It didnt compliment the dishes. I got the griot which was well seasoned. I didn't like the rice. It tasted cheap. I so wanted to love this place. After looking at the menu, I knew my girlfriend would really like this place, especially because they have oxtail which is an item I have been searching for quite some time. I checked the rest of the menu to see if there was something I might like, finding something I decided to give them a try. As soon as you walk in the restaurant is beautiful, you literally feel like you are walking into a high end hotel lobby. The bar area and lounge are really nice with a gas fire place as well. The dining area is very nicely lit and with plenty of space between you and the next table. I did not get a chance to visit but the se one floor looked like private dining rooms for groups to use-it looked really nice. The staff was quick to take care of you and did their best to give you a good experience. The unfortunate part of the experience was the food did not meet the expectations of everything else we experienced. We first ordered the sweet plantains wrapped in bacon, they unfortunately were not too memorable. They say bacon makes everything better but I just didn't get it. The bacon did not do anything for the appetizer. For our entrees my girlfriend had the oxtail which was served over rice. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, she send it was tender and flavorful, I am glad she loved it because essentially this was the reason why we were there. My order was the mango flavored bbq ribs. It was served with a slaw and French fries. The highlight of the dish was the slaw. It was crisp, fresh and had a bit of a bite which made all the tastebuds tingle. Unfortunately, my ribs were covered in the mango barbecue sauce which was way too heavy handed. On top of the sauce was the fact the ribs were overcooked hence making them very dry. They were flavorful but not tender and fall of the bone. The portions were quite generous which is a plus. First time trying their food, and it wasn't good. Specifically, I had the chicken and waffles. Pretty straightforward but the taste was simply not there. This place was amazing! I would definitely recommend. The atmosphere is nice but also casual. The waitress was so nice and the service was top notch. 20% gratuity was included but we added in a little extra on top of that. The food was so good! The coconut shrimp dip was delicious. The coconut flavor wasn't super strong, but my wife isn't a huge fan of coconut so it was perfect! We weren't expecting it to be so cheesy but that was a pleasant surprise! The drinks are strong and delicious. I got the Pearle Runner and one drink was good enough for me. I slept well that night lol. The oxtail pasta was delicious! Very rich in flavor and the oxtail was super tender and without an ounce of fat. Let it cool a bit to really enjoy the full flavor. The vegetarian stew with shrimp was delicious too! Food was OK...servings were not consistent I was there with 4 others 2 people ordered the same dish and the serving for 1 was at least twice the size of the other :) Service was below par, server arguing with the folks about what they ordered and what came with the meal even though the menu showed we were correct...what ever happened to the customer is always right...LOL...they were out of some of the food @ 2.00 in the afternoon on Saturday...seems like a tend for this place as this is the 3dr time being there, not by my choice, And it is the same old story...one time we tried to go there for restaurant week and they decided they were not participating that day even though they were advertised as participating...lol...I will not be going back that is for sure read more

Fantastic food, generous portions, great ambiance, solid customer service (most of the times). I debated between 4 or 5 stars because there's one thing that always grates on my nerves. I've ordered from here at least 3 times. So the thing is, you can only order over the phone for pickup, and the person taking the orders does not even know creole. I, myself, do not, but I know some words and the menu has them. This made ordering awkward as they knew the food only by descriptions, and I struggled trying to get them to understand their own menu and describe food to them. Then, pickup time comes and the food is usually late. I always usually wait quite sometime, too. This would be OK, but then they always seem to mess up one item of mine. That's frustrating as their prices as on the higher end, and so you want the food you ordered. Regardless, the Mac and cheese is to die for, the Caribbean Caesar salad is an absolute winner, and their bacon wrapped plantain are also fantastic. Black rice is always a hit, and I will never complain about their food as it's cooked impeccably, bursting with flavor, and very unique among Stanford's offerings. My second time having the lobster Mac and cheeses and I still think it's 1 of the best I've ever had. My son ordered the half jerk chicken and needed some milk lol because this dish is hot. The decor is very elegant. I just missed the brunch crowd, so it was practically empty when I arrived. Peter one of the owners came over to us to greet us and checked in, which I thought was great. Our waitress was also great too (Prinscella). As for the dishes/drinks: Mojito: 10/10. Not too strong, just the right balance., Lambi: 6/10: an acquired taste Chicken Pasta: 10/10. I then start ordering for the kids and it seems they are not kid friendly, since the only chicken meal on the menu is the jerk, I ask is it spicy can a child eat it? He replies, "it's not that spicy, I believe a child can eat it", so I order two and it went to waste because the kids could not eat it, didn't even past the oldest, he turned it down immediately. Not to mention the time I ordered a particular rice and it was not fully cooked, with a smile. I do not understand Haitians trying to create the authenticity of Haiti and cannot create an essence of responsibility which we are known for. They need to get it together. Mind you this is not my first, second or third horrah with this restaurant, I have hoped over ten times they would show me different and they have not. She had been telling me about La Perle for a few months but we hadn't find the time to head out for a try... after our dinner we both realized we found an amazing place! She had the oxtail penne and I had the coconut seafood stew!! Great meals and the passion fruit margaritas were amazing. The restaurant itself is upscale but with a comfortable twist. We've been waiting for a GNO to try this place and finally got together on a Tuesday. They offered a special that included an appetizer, main course and dessert for $30 and at the bar half off most cocktails. We each ordered the wedge salad and red velvet cake, I ordered the red snapper as my main. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my entree... the snapper was not even full grown! I've seen a red snapper so tiny... barely any meat. The rice & peas was dry... I did enjoy the wedge salad and the red velvet cake was moist. Walking through downtown Stamford a few weeks back, I came across this hidden gem that could easily be passed over but don't sleep on this chic "pearl" located on Bank Street. Pre COVID , this double bar, cosmopolitan decor restaurant looks to have been one of the more sophisticated dining experiences in CT however tonight it was every bit as sophisticated with much less of a crowd. Tonight a friend and I looking for great food and a new experience went to Le Perle where we were not disappointed. For starters, we shared one of the best calamari I can honestly say I've had in a very long time. Extremely full of flavor and the batter was crispy. For our entrées I had the fried red snapper with veggies and pikliz cabbage with a side of rice and beans. My friend had the conch stew (Haitian: Lambí nan sos) with black rice and plantains (tostones). Both dishes were extremely flavorful! The fish was flaky with the bone in and an amazing taste. The conch was fresh and so tasty. The entire meal was five star-perfection. Wait Staff: Ashanti made sure we enjoyed our overall experience as well as others. Went to La Perle while on vacation and must say it was the best meal we had the entire week we were traveling. Everything was great about the restaurant, safety, food, portion size, drinks and service. Roberta was our server and was extremely helpful to our family, both my son and husband have food allergens and she ensured we selected the appropriate dishes. Everyone in my family was pleased with their entree and time there. We all agreed we will dine at La Perle when we are in the area.
