They've cycled through a few food vendors and projects, and I'm hoping it helps bring some real traffic through again. I think JCP and the sewing shop may be the strongest parts right now and, of course, Sarku Japan is still out here thriving. Overall, I'm hopeful for Oakview, you can see the effort, but it'll be tough to find its footing with Village Pointe, not far away, and the Westroads trending in the right direction.

It's time they decided to gut this shopping mall and put in some new flooring and other fixtures for a place that's nearly 45 years old. The floor tiles have been showing signs of age and not up to today's standards. Many other shopping malls across the country have had them ripped out and redone over the years, this one is unfortunately off the radar. This should be next on the list for renovation projects.

I think the food and shopping scene are a good match for this area--higher end places focused on quality, and with higher price points to match the west Omaha/Elkhorn clientele. There is also a strong focus on athletic stores--probably because Scheels draws that crowd here. Parking is always an issue so plan accordingly! There are several lots, but you will often find yourself driving around for a few minutes and walking a bit more, so plan ahead. All in all the variety of stores makes for a fun outdoor shopping day, and there are plenty of quick or fancy dine in spots to choose from as you fuel up in between stores!
