Food is ok, I been coming here since they open, due to my son like it so much. But the service is awful, when i needed drinks the waitress make me wait about 5 to 8 minutes, i have gone up my self to get my drinks for a party of 5, and couple of times straws where missing and when i asked for them she makes me wait again and then finally she comes back and throws then on the table, she does not talk or do an eye contact. She walks between tables serving waiting on other customers or asking if they need drinks, and she passes me and ignore when i asked dor more drinks or even see the cups are empty and by the edge of table. when im.done with my meal she does not bring cookies either. So therefore i dont live a tip. read more

Chinese buffet with the usual options. Very clean and well stocked. The staff and service was fast and friendly. Restrooms were clean. All in all, a pretty good experience. read more

My first time ever eating here was a couple of days ago with my boyfriend and his two female friends. The food was good. It was extremely busy. The service was fast and the noise was quite loud because it was really busy inside the restaurant the place had a lot of options to pick different foods from. I tried new things. The eggroll was gross. I don't recommend the eggrolls. It was gross other than that, I had a first time experience that was really good and that was fun and entertaining. I do recommend going back to this restaurant in the future because it was cheap and good and delicious. read more

I've been eating there for years. Some days are better than others but nothing in Sioux City beats it for price and variety.

Mr. Stir fry is a good place to have lunch or dinner if you are near Sioux City, IA. Parking is ample in the shopping center. The wait to purchase your meal and secure your seating may take a while if they are low on staffing, especially when there are several takeout orders that require weighing and bagging. Once you are seated, your drinks are brought to your table while you can peruse the lines of food or choose to head to the hibachi line. The sushi selection is okay for Iowa, don't expect anything fancy or super fresh seafood. The staff will clear off your used plates and refill your drinks, upon request. I'm glad the ice cream is individually packaged. At other Asian buffets, the ice cream is in bucket containers and I have seen kids dip their hands/fingers into the bucket just for a taste test, not good. Overall, a good stop for a quick lunch at Mr. Stir fry. read more

It's a buffet, front help was rude (Ophelia). I asked for her name , and she refused to give it at first. Then said manager wasn't available and claimed I was trying to get her fired. Lol. Waitress was nice. Food is decent. read more

Good food good service would eat there again bathroom is not handicap accessible easy to find

Everything was cold, especially the stuff that should have been hot. Luke warm mussels? Cold honey chicken. Lo mein greasy and Luke warm. We stopped eating after the first few bites--frankly I was afraid the stuff that was barely warm was a hot bed of bacteria. Lots of choices but nothing I'd feel safe eating given the room temperature food. Amazing how busy it was for really bad food. read more

Food was good, staff were very friendly, the place could be a bit cleaner. Needs updated decor and fresh coat of paint. The buffet area could be refilled faster. I waited for some of the dishes to be filled and finished two plates before they were the filled. read more

Mr. Stirfry is my favorite buffet in town. Hubby and I go about once a month. Some of my favorite staples include the rice noodles, butter shrimp, (baked salmon is surprisingly good), sushi selection, peanut butter pie, those Chinese doughnut things that taste like you're eating a cloud, and the general chicken. I don't care much for their 'American' foods (moss sticks, pizza, chicken nuggets) because it's typically very bland, but I'm not going to an Asian buffet and looking for pizza. My husband always goes for the hibachi grill. I fill-up enough on the sushi, so I rarely do. I also like the cherry bananas, wonton soup, pork skewers, and fried rice. Drinks are not included in the meal price, but I usually order water anyways. They do have chopsticks! I love using chopsticks. It gets REALLY busy on Sundays, but their seafood always seems to be a little better on Sundays. Bathrooms are usually pretty clean and the workers keep your table bussed pretty well. I usually tip a couple bucks. It's a teeny bit expensive. For example it was $26.75 for me and my husband to eat on a Sunday evening and we had waters, but it is all-you-can-eat. So, that's not THAT bad of a price. They do offer to-go. Not sure if it's by weight or container. I've never to-go-ed. read more

Mr Stirfry - I mainly get seafood. Always seems to be extra good on Sunday evenings. - Seafood Near Me - Sioux City, Iowa

I am typically not a big fan of sushi on a buffet but I feel like Mr. Stir fry does it. It's always fresh and you always watch them making it right in front of you. The Place is always relatively clean and organized. They have a nice selection but could use more vegetarian options. All around not a bad stop for an Asian buffet. They claim to not use MSG - which is great! read more

Mr Stirfry is a great restaurant to take the whole family. I recommend going for dinner. They have an entire seafood section. The service is nice. And the food is all stocked. I would recommend stirring the food before adding to your plate as it can cool off a on the steam tables. The tables and chairs are not all that comfortable and people are seated pretty close to each other. Desserts are limited but, by the time you get to it, you're pretty full. I give Mr. Stirfry 4 stars. read more

I've always liked it here and got excited when i was told we were coming but this last trip was not ideal. The staff was a tad bit rude and i got very very sick. typically the staff is nice and the food is good but in this instance it was not. Food was mediocre and staff was NOT good. While it is a beautiful restaurant it definitely needs fixing undoubtedly. it was nice and quiet though and that was pretty nice. I definitely wont actively choose to go there again anytime soon read more

I usually find Chinese buffets completely inedible, but Mr. Stirfry is a pleasant surprise: the food is so-so, perhaps even pretty decent. It's hands down the best Chinese buffet you'll find in Sioux City, at least. (It's also the third best Chinese restaurant in town, but that says far more about the lack of quality restaurants in the area than it does about Mr. Stirfry.) It's quite a large establishment and I've never had trouble getting a table even during traditional busy hours. You pay upfront and order drinks at the counter. Once you're seated, the waitstaff only stops by the table to clear dirty plates, bring drink refills, and drop off fortune cookies at the end of the meal. The staff isn't outgoing -- don't expect small talk or to even catch their names -- but they've never been rude to me; they're just doing their jobs quickly and efficiently. The buffet has a large assortment of dishes, such as a sushi bar, some American fare, a hibachi grill, and of course a large area dedicated to the standard Chinese dishes like beef broccoli and General Tso's chicken. It's all restocked regularly, so the food is usually fresh and the trays are rarely empty for long. The secret to having a decent meal at Mr. Stirfry is to make careful judgment and sometimes start with small portions on your first plate. For instance, some days the hot and sour soup is a decent side dish, other days the broth comes out closer to glop than liquid. It's probably best to just steer clear of the American fare altogether; it looks like something thrown together for parties with a picky eater who will only eat pizza and chicken nuggets. The sushi is okay, but only by Sioux City standards. When it comes to the safe bets, I'd say the pepper chicken, honey chicken, beef broccoli, General Tso's, and other standards you expect to find at a Chinese restaurant are all consistently cooked well. The flavors won't blow you away, but it's quite tasty -- far better than the Chinese food you'll find at a mall food court or the like. It satisfies my craving for fastfood-style Chinese nicely. If you're looking for top quality Chinese dining, well, you probably shouldn't be looking at a buffet to begin with. But for a quick, easy lunch with many options for filling up, Mr. Stirfry fits the bill. read more

Not my favorite place to eat but I do go on occasion. Some items are good , if not very good BUT some need to be throw out before they kill someone . This trip was less then disappointing . Heck , I would rate it as Stupid at Best . You MUST ( MUST I Say ) wear a mask when going thru the food service lines and a glove to touch the serving spoon . I guess some people find comfort in that ...... . But no social distancing in the seating area at all . Only thing I can think is : Like WOW Man . Be a long time before I make a trip to this Bacterial trap . PS : I seen cleaner Spot-a-pots then their bathroom read more

I was starving, so went for the all-you-can-eat after being recommended by my son. Service was average. It's a buffet. The food looked better than it tasted. The fried shrimp was raw on the inside The beef broccoli the beef was to tough I couldn't chew it Baked salmon was bland Coconut shrimp over cooked but sauce was tasty Never got our water Spoon was still soiled with food wrapped in clean napkin Craw fish only so so. Egg rolls tasty but cold to touch Yucky cheese mushroom. I thought $25.00 for 2 people and drink was high considering the quality of the food I won't be back read more

It is very rare that I get angry about food, even mediocre food, but after my dinner with my mother at Mr. Stirfry I was angry squared. We arrived about an hour after their dinner service started and noted that a few items had not been refilled. No worries, we were sure that they would get on it. We went through the line, I got beef and broccoli, calamari, grilled shrimp, cold shrimp, steamed mussels and sat down to eat. The Calamari was like leather and inedible, the beef and broccoli which should have a lovely rich brown sauce was instead served in a tasteless brown colored gelatin, the meat was easy enough to chew, but it also had no flavor and the broccoli was...mush and also without flavor. The other items were similarly tasteless. So round one was completely inedible. I decided to try the Hibachi since it's generally hard to screw that up. The ingredients seemed fresh so I chose some beef, baby corn, broccoli, mushrooms, bean sprouts and green onions. Five minutes later I had shoe leather with no flavor, the veggies were cooked properly but also with no flavor. How do you screw up Hibachi????? My mother, who generally doesn't complain was similarly dismayed with the quality of a buffet that she used to love. We decided to try dessert...the best thing in that area were the bananas with strawberry sauce...which, tasted like bananas and strawberries. The cream puffs were also flavorless, the chocolate cake was a coffee cake in chocolate clothing...seriously there was not one item that we tried that rose to the great height of mediocrity. I am angry because the food was terrible, but also because it was terrible experience in an otherwise lovely day with my mother. The owners and management of Mr. Stirfry should be ashamed for putting out such universally terrible food. What a waste of money and time! read more

It is a buffet. Don't expect super high quality every dish is hit or miss. Most of the food is ultra greasy. Every hibachi gets a scoop of butter and and extra heavy amount of oil. It's fresh, but is going to hurt your tummy. You get what you get. read more

At first it was skeptical from the outside but was surprised when I went inside. The place is pretty big and decorative glow like lights almost like you're in food club lol. For the price of $10/12, this buffet has a BIG variety with all you can eat Chinese, American, Sushi, and Hibachi. That includes bbq ribs, pizza, wings, sushi bar, shrimp, crawfish, frog legs, calamari, clams, mussels, lo mien, fried rice, stir fry, and plenty more plus side dishes and desserts( love the wafer banana creme)! I would say this is an easy pick/fix for when you and your family or friends can't decide on where to eat at in town. Food has lots of flavors, I'll say average for my taste and trays usually gets filled up right away once it's empty. It is super busy majority of the time and sometimes there's a line in front but it goes through fast. Service is okay I know they're doing the best they can for a very fast paced restaurant. Friendly but could improve. Go in, pay first up front, seated, devour food, and you're out of there full for the rest of the day! read more

Everything on the buffet was cold. Chicken was raw in the middle. Service was poor and hostess was rude.

They have a wide variety of Chinese food. And they have a decent selection of American food. The hibachi grill is very good. But the selection does not change much at all. The sushi is very good. I enjoyed getting some hibachi grill and some of the buffet. The noodles and rice are cooked very well. Nice place to take a group of people. Clean nice restraint. Huge selection but obviously a lot of Asian choices. Plenty to choose from even if you don't like or can't eat Asian food, see food or fish. I loved the fresh fruit. The hibachi grill looked great but due to allergies, I did not try. There were a lot of people that did though. read more

Man oh man. Where to begin with all of these options. Maybe I'll start will some words of advice: try to avoid starting with sushi. I made this mistake and couldn't eat anything after the third plate of sampling everything. Favorites: honey chicken, Mongolian beef and chicken, string beans, and most of all, the peanut butter chicken which, unfortunately, I tried last. I had just enough room for dessert and went with everything as well. Cheese cake crust is perfect and the tapioca pudding was amazing. This place is well worth it. I hope to be back. read more

We stopped there on our way from Souix City back home to Omaha, looked at the reviews & thought we'd give it a try. Family of 5, 3 hungry kids craving sushi. All I can say is GROSS!!! Food taste like dirty dish water, rice, noodles, shrimp. Everything we ate had a weird taste to it. Staff was rude & doesn't speak English or they use that as an excuse to be rude. I have gone to so many super buffets and this one was the only one I actually enjoyed. The price is amazing. The best part was choosing your raw foods and taking it to the chef to cook it in front of you. It came out so delicious, I wanted to eat just that, it was so hard to try everything else because it was that good. There is so much food, it's hard to try every single thing in one visit.
