italiene bene
Godwin L.

I came here on the recommendation of my airbnb host. As soon as I walked in I was offered an English menu as they noticed I was struggling in French. I ordered the Italian eggs Benedict, comes with sausage, hollandaise sauce, cheese, peppers and onions, portions were very big and tasty. A little pricey at 16.50$ but definately worth it.

I came here for breakfast with a friend from out of town. Finding parking here was the hardest thing to do. Most of streets are closed off for construction so regardless of where you park, you'll have to walk to the resto. Also it's a zoning area so there are a lot restrictions. This place was jam packed on a Saturday morning, so we had to wait a little to get a table. They have a patio that is now covered in a tent but you can sit inside as well. The resto is fairly small and felt very stuffy. There wasn't much room to walk. We asked for an English menu. Our server could barely speak a full sentence in English nor understood simple words like "butter." It was a struggle but we made it through. I ordered waffles with fruits and ice cream. It was pretty good nothing spectacular. I wasn't able to finish it. My friend ordered eggs and chocolate chip pancakes. The potatoes that came with the eggs were really good. They were more like chips. We asked for English cream to go with the pancakes, sadly they brought us pure liquid. The server said they didn't have firm cream. It wasn't the best experience but it wasn't terrible either. For that I would definitely go back but probably to a different location

Fantastic breakfast so many choices on the menu had a hard time deciding before settling on banana strawberry nutella crepe with egg, sausage, potatoes and bacon. Delicious!!! Worth the wait outside.

I'm not much a fan of eggs however I'm glad I didn't judge this brunch location simply by their name! This has got to be my favourite brunch restaurant that I've been to in Montréal or anywhere else for that matter. Location: only a few blocks from Crémazie Métro Station and a few minutes of a TransCanada Hwy exit if you're coming from afar. However this restaurant clearly is representing for the residents of Villeray. Atmosphere: with a bright a fairly large dining area it easy to notice the popularity of this place as it still seems full inside. However don't let that discourage you if you're looking for a quite brunch because it didn't get loud in there. It seems it attracts an respectful crowd of people or maybe sound just doesn't travel much in there. In addition to the indoor dining area, there is a covered patio that allows a lot of sunshine in plus there are heaters well positioned to separate you from the Montréal winter. Food: First of all, they have english menus so that's a big plus for us Anglophones who are visiting. The menu was stacked with egg inspired dishes however there was still a number of options for anyone who might not be a fan of eggs (or am I the only one?). I ordered a Tuna Grilled Cheese Sandwich with the pan fries & Caesar salad. This comes with coffee or herbal tea and a dessert. I must say that the Caesar salad was pretty amazing. For my personal taste maybe it could have used a bit more dressing but the croutons were perfect and it had real piece bacon in it. As for the sandwich, I think a bit more cheese would have made the it to die for but really no complaints. It was perfectly grilled and tuna was of a good texture. Staff: Despite how busy it was, they were quick to take our order and serve the food. And each waiter/waitress on the floor kept an eye on each table. While we did have a main waiter, often the others stepped up to satisfy our concerns or questions. There was never a time where we felt we were waiting on them. Great work team! Overall: I happy to be spending my time in the Villeray community of Montréal and I hope to visit this place again for brunch before I leave. Next time I'll be sure to try one their smoothies.

This place was delicious! I love how they have English menus to accommodate those who don't speak French (AKA me). I loved my meal here and service was great.

the St-Laurent poutine !!

Damn , What an amazing brunch. I had le st-Laurent poutine , which was amazing. This is because both cheese were melting along the smoke meat, which was a really unique taste. As for the fries aka freaking amazing HOMEMADE POTATOES they are to die for. The eggs on top just adds extra points :p My gf had Patati Patata, and she loved it. The portion were huge enough and the bread that came along with it from Moisson was amazing. It's definitely a good brunch place, clean and in a good neighbourhood l. Service is excellent, although it was not really busy at the time I came . 4 stars out of 5 , because 5 stars for me is really hard to give !!

Great food, friendly service, big portions and a great atmosphere. No complaints at all. There was a 20-30 wait around noon on a Saturday so the owner had set up a thermos of coffee to stay warm while we waited. A small point but the mark of a restaurant that cares about their clients and puts thought into every detail.

Such a cute place! I really wanted to try the Mac and cheese skillet, but they were out of cheese the day I was in town. I got an alternate skillet along with an oreo shake and both were delicious! The staff were all super friendly, we had a month old puppy with us who was allowed in and all the food was AMAZING! Definitely planning a trip back to try the Mac and cheese

Juices are an expertise

Great brunch location. They do specialize in the juices, so I highly suggest you make sure to have space for that. Also, the menu is fully loaded with protein, breakfast sweets, and everything a good brunch should have. My group and I were highly satisfied.

Le Consulat Portugais à Montreal

I was in Montreal for a bachelorette party, and had a flight out much later than everyone else. I walked around the block, and found this place. There was a line of people waiting to be seated, but they were very organized and it went very quickly. The waiters were bilingual and didn't have a problem with my lack of french ability. They handed me a menu that was in English and french. I don't like eggs, but they had a lot of breakfast/brunch choices that were eggless. I ended up getting a smoothie as that is what they were known for - I got the Je Pars A Cuba and it was delicious. I normally don't drinks smoothies because I'm very picky, but I really enjoyed this one. The texture and flavor was great. To eat I got Le consulat portugais a Montreal which was a grilled cheese with chorizo and potatoes in it, served wth a side of potatoes. This was so indulgent, rich and creamy while the chorizo was soft not chewy. I really enjoyed it. The potatoes they served on the side were cooked so perfectly. I would recommend this place for anyone alone or in a group to enjoy a great breakfast or brunch. My only regret is that the rest of the bachelorette party didn't get to try their delicious food.

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

We learned from the Two Gay Expats on YouTube that this was the place to try based on the charismatic chef Michael Tozzi and his renowned ricotta pancakes. Jamie W and I got here late on a weekday morning. Sure enough there was a queue. Dame fortune must've smiled upon us because we moved to the head of the line as a party of two. Even though the threat of rain hung over us, we were seated in the front parklet and quite happily since the dining room inside looked packed. We started with a couple of C$6.25 Iced Maple Lattes because it felt like the Canadian thing to do. They provided a welcome caramel-like sweetness to our refreshment (Photo 9). Jamie was more conscientious about his entree and ordered the C$26.99 Crunchy Sesame Chicken Salad, quite a mound of delights: romaine, cabbage, carrot, celery, shredded chicken breast, cashews, cilantro, fried wontons, and sesame chicken (Photo 8). Both the textures and flavors meshed really well together. Of course you can guess what I ordered, the C$27 Ricotta Pancakes with brown butter maple sauce, lemon cream, and Quebec strawberries (Photo 10). Light and nicely aerated, the fluffy ricotta pancakes absorbed all the complimentary flavors really well. Dandy was indeed dandy. I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The exterior is this new building, but inside, it feels like you're in an old building with rustic textures and colours. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a brunch spot!

The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.

Yet somehow, despite living on the Upper East Side myself, I have never been taken there. Interesting. We will address this upon our return to New York. The Griffintown location has a really nice outdoor seating area running alongside the building, with blue café tables, big wooden pergolas and planters. Under normal circumstances, this would have been perfect for me. Unfortunately, it was raining. The staff very kindly told Mom and Dad that I could come inside as long as I remained in my carrier. Terms accepted. After an entire morning of adventuring, I had absolutely no objection to being carried around like important cargo. Mom ordered eggs Benedict and an iced latte. Dad went with scrambled eggs, bacon and toast plus a Diet Coke. I stayed tucked inside my carrier and monitored the bacon situation. Very closely. No further comment at this time.
