While my wife and I stayed at the Hotel de l'Alma on Rue de l'Exposition back in 2009, we strolled by this small obscure restaurant located just a few steps from our hotel. We decided to give a try and were not disappointed. Albeit, the decor and ambiance was very dated, the food was really, really good.
Just a week ago, while in Paris again, my wife and I were looking forward to dining at our favorite restaurant, Restaurant De la Tour, but were turned away because we did not have reservations, we were really bummed and decided to walk down Avenue Saint Dominique where Christian Constant has 3 eating establishments on this street. There was a 45 minute wait, so we deferred back to L'Auberge on Rue de l'Exposition. As we walked in, we were very pleasantly greeted with a renovated restaurant that was modernly chic and classy. As we sat down, we were handed an updated menu with very modern choices.
The owners, Michele & Philippe have done a tremendous makeover of their restaurant both with the decor and especially with the food!
In a city that rivals and maybe even exceeds that of NYC in restaurant choices, it is definitely necessary to be on the cutting edge of both ambiance and quality of food.
If you are in the 7th, you definitely need try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed! read more
