We had a very disappointing experience with this moving company. We were quoted approximately 5 hours, and the move ultimately took nearly 9 hours, creating significant and unexpected cost and stress. We moved from Indiana to Alabama using a 26-ft truck, and all of our belongings were already consolidated into one storage unit. The owner did not ask to see the contents or request an inventory-only asked for the size of the unit. Every mover I've used in the past came to see the contents in person to give an accurate quote. We were very clear that we did NOT want small items moved and that the priority was large, heavy items such as bed frames and furniture. Additionally, all items were already wrapped and padded in the storage unit from our previous move. No additional blanket wrapping or prep was required. This was meant to be a straightforward transfer from the storage unit to the truck. Despite these instructions, the crew loaded the truck with small items first, filled it completely, and left the large items behind. As a result, they ran out of space. The company is now refusing to return for the remaining items unless we pay additional money, which defeats the purpose of hiring movers in the first place. They also insisted it was "impossible" for our belongings to have fit in a single 26-ft truck-despite the fact that another moving crew successfully moved the same contents in one truck... across four states, nonetheless! The issue was clearly inefficient packing and poor planning, not the volume of our belongings. Because of this, we now have to rent another truck and personally move the heavy items we specifically hired movers to handle. We are incurring extra cost and lost wages because now we have to take off work to finish the job they were hired to do. This experience shows a lack of organization, communication, and accountability. I would not recommend this company, especially for long-distance or carefully planned moves. read more

They were talking in front of the doorway I said excuse me and they proceeded to cuss me out saying all this f***ing space and you want us to move. Upon hiring a different company last minute and not remembering L&L until now. I regret not using L&L this time. My move with L&L was well priced, and my move with this other company last week charged me 3x as much as Lee did. Yes, moving companies may show up late; they have many moves during the day. Many people lie about what they've "packed". People are attached to their stuff. And they WILL come back the next day! I regret not using L&L this past week. When our movers cancelled 5 days before our move from San Diego to Fairhope, we were panicked! The only option that short notice was for my husband and I (at almost 9 mo pregnant) to drive a Penske truck and have movers load and unload on both ends. I called L and L and spoke to Lee. He was very reassuring and accommodating. We made better time than anticipated, so I called him two days before we were scheduled and asked if we could move up the time in the day. He said no problem. Josh, CJ and Tim helped us get everything out of the Penske and up our very steep driveway on a very hot morning, and we could not have been more grateful for their help! L & L moved us about 10 miles from our townhouse in Daphne to our new home in Daphne. We had moved almost everything ourselves other than furniture and some heavy boxes. The guys were right on time and had everything loaded in about 3 hours. Having drawn my furniture layout earlier, everything was placed perfectly. There were some bolts missing on my tester bed and the owner bought new hardware and dropped by a couple of days later to assemble the piece. He also sent a furniture repairman the following week to repair a couple of small nicks on a buffet. I was impressed by his commitment to the repairs. The fee was based on hours worked and was very reasonable.As a satisfied customer, I happily recommend L & L for your moving needs and would engage them again if needed. read more

UPDATE. After seeing L&L owners response to my post,I felt the need to respond. Let me clear up some things. 1) I didn't start the conversation by "cussing" at you. That only happened when you interrupted me and gave me the standard no accountability answer about the release I signed 2) we offered your workers cold water because it was so hot out,we didn't offer snacks. 3) I advised the guys I had 2 whole rolls of plastic wrap they could use. Since they had no tape(they used all I had purchased) they had no plastic wrap or tools. In fact they waited for someone to show up with some tools because they had none. 4) so you want people to think that I made up a story about someone having a cat named "QUEEF"? You're employee is a liar and you must be delusional if you think a retired couple would make up a F@@king story involving the word QUEEF !! 5) true, I did not have enough blankets, I said I would go up to U-Haul and grab more it's 3 minutes away. I was told,"don't worry,I got you". And was asked "trust me?" 6) I did tip the guys because I had no way of seeing behind everything to see that the stuff was just jammed between and on top of other items. 7) I only explained the problem with the previous movers because I told them I wanted them to not use their dirty gloves when it was time to carry the white couch. I wrapped it in plastic for that reason. The guys decided to rewrap it and when it was time to unload,all the plastic wrap slid down and wasn't even covering the couch. Anyway,I'm sure people get the picture.I didn't call asking for a refund or anything,I simply called to try to discuss my displeasure at the job that was done. I hired L&L to move me from Daphne to Fairhope I called on a Monday with the request to move on the following Friday. I was told that this would be a difficult request to satisfy but she would try. I gave my name and number and she told me that she'd call me back. Within an hour she called and told me they could arrange the move on Friday. On Friday, Luis, Chris and Quin showed up on time and took care of everything. They were professional and courteous. Furniture was wrapped. They stayed until 7pm to get all of the beds put together. What a joke for a so called Professional Moving Company! They didn't do anything but throw my items in a 10 x 10 unit that should have been bigger, or at least actually packed! They brought the wrong size truck to pick up my items after assuring me they were going to do me a great job of taking care of everything! Then threw everything in this tiny unit! We moved from a second floor apartment in Spanish Fort to a house in Loxley. Tyler, Ryan, and Marquell arrived a little early, which was great for us! They were VERY respectful when handling our items, and nothing was damaged. They were all EXTREMELY friendly, and made the move so easy! We couldn't have asked for a better moving experience! I want to start by letting you know about my experience with L&L moving in Daphne, Alabama.  Between my daughter and I, we have used them 4 times over the last 4 years.  The first time I used them they were great.  The second time I used them, it was a disaster.  I am a 71 year old widow and I just made a Huge move from Alabama to Ohio.  I had several L&L movers helping me and made sure to tell each person not to touch anything in my closet.  They ignored me and packed some very important items on the truck, including my direct tv equipment.  I had to pay extra for this equipment as my stuff sat in storage for two months until may house was ready.  Upon opening my storage truck, several things were broken.  The guys forgot to put on a several hundred pound ramp and threw it onto my washing machine, breaking it.  I had an extremely sentimental China cabinet with broken glass everywhere.  My coffee table was broken into 6 pieces.  I reached out to Lee to ask about replacing these items with his companies insurance and he said since his guys did not drive the truck, he was not responsible.  He is currently not returning any calls, emails, or text from me.  My daughter had a horrible experience also.  We have all the photos of the trucks and how they packed them to show how poorly they packed our things.  I would definitely use a moving company that stands behind their work.  This company does not stand behind their services.  I gave Lee many chances to make it right and he refused to help.  His way of dealing with this situation, it to ignore me.  Please use a different company I have pictures too if interested read more

We hired L and L Moving to move us from Loxley to Magnolia Springs. When Lee came out to give us an estimate we showed him everything that would be packed and moved. I repeatedly expressed that my collection of ironstone was important to me and that I wanted to make sure it was well packed. He even moved some of the boxes out of the storage upstairs so that he could see what was involved. He left us the estimate and we agreed to have them PACK and move our belongings. When packing day came, his crew came to pack our home. One girl had some experience, the others had no packing experience. They brought the supplies and got started. They didn't bring enough to pack the house, frequently they had to stop and get more supplies delivered. They used the boxes we had bought and the wrapping paper that we had purchased. I had gift wrapping tissue paper and they even used all of that! I was looking for a set of keys and when I went to the drawer where they were kept, one of the packers had dumped the entire contents into a box. Like turned the drawer upside down on top of items that were in the box already. I collect white ironstone and when I started looking for the keys, I moved some things and found that he had dumped the drawer on top of items that were breakable. Needless to say, this was a bad day for me. I realize that the guys packing had no concept of what was important but they should know if it's breakable, to wrap it carefully and take care of it. They couldn't have cared less about breakables. One of them packed the cabinet that held spices and condiments, they just dumped it all into a large box. Most of the glass bottles broke because they weren't protected. Therefore, most of the dry food was wasted. We had to replace most of the food in that box. They moved 4 beds for us. Not the first mattress was wrapped or protected at all. They were all filthy because they just slid them into the back of a U-haul truck. Lee did send a company to "clean" them but they are all stained, so I had to go purchase new mattress pads to cover the stains. Several pieces of furniture was damaged but Lee did have those repaired. I have called Lee and asked him how we file a claim for the broken items. He told me that he was "finished with us" and hung up the phone. Just last week, I called his office and asked the lady there how we would go about filing a claim. She was going to check and call me back, I've never heard from her. Lee claims to be licensed and insured but I doubt that is true. I have given Lee plenty opportunities to correct this and he refuses to do so. I do NOT recommend this company. read more

We had Vaughn, Nick and Trey S. show up to move everything. Those guys are professional, polite and took great care in moving her furniture. They wrapped everything, asked where and how we wanted it arranged when they arrived at my house. They worked continuously with no breaks. It was one of the best moving jobs that I have had done. I confirmed three times before the move date on 6/28/24 and told them exactly what they would be moving I also did it in writing. On the 6/28/24 moving day they showed up 45 minutes late and complained that they did not have a big enough truck. This was a three-bedroom apartment, and they had three guys for the move. I labeled and organized each box and container for which room they were going in. I found kitchen stuff in the master bedroom closet. I was told it would take between four and five hours it ended up taking almost eight hours. The damaged multiple pieces of furniture scuffed up walls and floors. They were hounding me for my wifi password, asking for cups of water and on their phones constantly. The final straw was they put the legs on the large and very heavy dining-room table and did not turn the table upright. Me and my 81-year-old father had to turn it upright. Very disorganized and unprofessional. Stay far away do not use! read more

This was the worst experience with this incompetent company. Please do not use them to pack/move or store your furniture. They packed the boxes without paper, often tossing mirrors and lamps in boxes to rattle around and break. I took photos of the poorly packed boxes and when I asked the owner to look at them and send experienced packers back his only comment was that they looked fine to him. And to threaten me if I sent him further photos. They were told specific things not to pack or move as these antiques were to delicate and that I would prefer to transport. No one listened and thus They wrapped my antique chandelier (against specific orders) in a blanket and tossed into the truck were it was broken and splintered in 3 places. Response to physically showing them what they had done was for the owner to blame my husband and say it was his fault!!! Never once did this owner ask us how they could make things right or that he was sorry or heaven forbid: we didn't follow your instructions and we will make this right. I was threatened with the police being called on me, intimidation tactics, abuse and denial and lies told to my face. Please do not use this company. They don't stand behind their work and are unscrupulous and unprofessional. I'm not writing this as sour grapes...it was so horrific that I pray no one else has this experience at any level. Yikes. I just submitted a review, but if I had bothered toblook at the photos, I would not have bothered becsuse theylooked like my mashed boxes I recovered when the van was unpacked. Fragile boces were very clearly marked. I can only advise against using this company. My new Christmas tree was missing, a large framed photo a famous baseball player was missing. The reviews I read for L&L moving were great prior to use. They showed up to move my family late, my price doubled due to the fact that there was no organization or sense of urgency the day of the move (which led to an extra day). Numerous items were broken and damaged during the move that could not be fixed or replaced. They can not be trusted seeing how a few "high priced" items did not make it from my old home to the new one including a brand new pair of "Nike Air Jordans", limited edition that were $500. When it was brought up I never received a response, which is even more unprofessional, no masks were worn and they left all their personal trash all over the outside of the home for me to clean-up. My bill price had to be reduced due to extensive damages and the stolen or "misplaced items" were never found or reconciled! This is hands down the worst moving company I have ever used and I refuse to recommend them to anyone. I needed help unloading a full shipping container. And I could not pinpoint the exact day or hour my goods would be cleared. The L and L team exactly meet every need. I had them on standby for days then they responded immediately when my goods were cleared for storage. They sent over a great team of guys and they did a perfect job helping me get every item organised into my store room. Without a perfect execution it could not have all fit. this company actually came highly recommended by a friend -- they had moved her 2/2 house quickly and efficiently. My experience was not great. The older gentleman seemed irritated with my requests to move things as they were brought in as the original plans I had made did not work once the furniture arrived. i had gone to the delivery location before the movers, and received a test they were leaving the other house. Great, no issues. However it took them 30+ minutes to go a 10 minute drive -- and their time they stopped to grab food and drinks was not deducted from my moving time. Had I known they would be stopping it would have been a different story. But leaving me waiting with no info that they were stopping was weird to me considering they had everything I owned with them. The biggest red flag I had was when another "worker" "pulled up" on the unload location looking incredibly strung out on drugs & started talking to the older gentleman about wanting work. It made me VERY uncomfortable. And lastly, the movers were instructed to get things from the attic, including Christmas decorations. They left 3+ boxes of decorations at the old house, but don't worry -- they grabbed the hurricane shutters that should have stayed at the old house. For the $800 it cost, I am not impressed & I am still moving furniture from my kids rooms that they were instructed to get, including toy boxes. Furniture was damaged & my sons bed was left "Put together" with not a single screw holding it into place. Honestly I'm still disgusted that Lee, the owner, hung up on me not once, but TWICE and told me that it wasnt the 1920's and my 3 year old didn't weigh enough to fall through a toddler bed.
