Lots of issues. They broke the handle on one of the bedside tables, did not put our roll top desk back together, and most importantly shattered the glass on an antique curious cabinet. We were told by the delivery team that they would return a with wood glue to repair the handle and their office was going to send someone out to replace the glass in the cabinet. None of this happened. Our quote for the move was far less than what we were charged. I would avoid this company completely. Three men came to move a 3 bedroom house they had no idea how to take apart our 2 sleep number beds. Everything was already boxed and ready for them to load the truck. My experience was also awful. 3 men to move a full 3 Bedroom house, and a grand piano. Took until 8-9 PM to have everything in my new home. (From Destin to Pensacola). THEN - there was still a truck full of stuff they could not fit on their truck - I had to rent a truck - drive back to Destin @ 9 PM. Get all that stuff, unpack, return rental truck. That day went until about 1 AM. My final bill was also several hundred dollars higher than my quote. The did reimburse me for the rental truck and gas used, as it should be. THEY are the moving company - they did a terrible job estimating - and they came and Looked at everything that was planned to me moved. NOT to mention what I took in 5 personal vehicles (friends) during various trips. The movers were great, worked hard.........just not a big enough truck or enough help. Never again. read more

The guys that moved me had a great attitude, but it takes more than a great attitude to be a great company. They left everything in plastic with the exception of the grand piano and my bed. They didn't have enough blankets to properly protect my furniture. The main tier of my fountain was busted during the move because it was just placed in the back of one of the trucks. As I have unwrapped the other items, many dents, knicks, scrapes, stains, and a fabric tear was discovered. Josh ignored my calls for two weeks following the move and has made no effort to respond to my emails or honor his end of the contract. Out of 11 moves, All About the Move is tied for being the absolute worst experience. The other company is now out of business. They won't last long if Josh doesn't start being more attentive to customers when problems arise. Hire another, more professional company that doesn't ignore you after they have broken and damaged your possessions.Unfortunately, my experience has proven they only answer the phone and provide responsive customer service prior to the actual move. Seriously unacceptable. I've attached some of the photos of my damages. I sent Josh an email on 2/22/23 giving him the opportunity to take care of this prior to filing complaints and leaving reviews. I moved 2 months ago so he's had plenty of time to work this out. He apparently would rather have complaints and bad reviews than honor his contract. Two friendly, courteous, and hard working young men (Sherman and Hunter) unloaded a u-pack trailer for me. They were efficient and never complained (as I had experienced with other movers). They did not try to waste time to extend the hourly rate and were never idle...in fact, I had to force them to drink something cold for a moment's break in the terrible heat. These two men were kind and respectful to me and my mother and took direction easily. Because of the weather, the lady from the office kept me updated with changes in times and was also very accommodating when I needed to change the time as well. I appreciate that she both called and texted to ensure there were no communication mishaps. We have moved several times in the last few years and every time it is painful. Today we used About The Move and it was the easiest move I've ever had. Cory & Antonio where polite, funny, & fun to be around. They moved our entire house wrapped and in 2 hours, had everything set In place in the new house. I hired About the Move to pick up and deliver furniture to our new home in Pensacola that was outside the store's delivery area. They were very cooperative as our closing date slipped and the move date changed. The delay very went fine. The guys were careful and professional. I recommend them when you need movers. read more

What an easy move -- the team from About The Move arrived early and introduced themselves. They got to work quickly and finished the load and unload ahead of schedule. The company name is "About The Move", Josh Williams, I believe is the owner or at lest the managing director for the South Alabama region. We had four moving quotes, About The Move was the second cheapest. We liked that they were a local company and that it would only be our belongings on the truck. Josh was very professional and the reviews I was able to find were good. We were a little concerned about their experience with long distance moves, but Josh assured us they do it all the time. Packing and loading day started fine, but things started to go South when they couldn't fit all our belongings on the "Rider rental" truck they brought and had to "rent" a U-Haul trailer to fit the rest of our belongings. I spent most of the loading day organizing in the house and not watching them load the truck, they are the professionals, didn't think I had to supervise that portion. I questioned them when they carried our couch out to the truck unwrapped, they said they were going to wrap it in the truck, during the unload, I noticed that it was not wrapped. This is only the beginning, as the loading day was coming to an end, I started to notice all the nicks and marks on our walls. They didn't disassemble the bed frames and one person carried them down the stairs hitting the walls. While moving a couch out of our bonus room, they got it wedged in the door way. Doing so, they scratched and gouged up the door frame. I brought these items to Josh's attention when he delivered the rental trailer and drove over my neighbors lawn. Josh was agreeable that this was unacceptable scheduled to get the problem resolved. Since Josh jumped on getting this issue resolved, I marked it off as "incidents happen" and as long as they take care of the repairs I was fine. I was wrong, It only continues to get worse. The pack and load was originally estimated to take less than seven hours, it ended up taking over ten, not that bad, but when you consider, we had packed over 50 boxes prior to them arriving and the only packing left for them was our kitchen pots, pans, dishes and a few miscellaneous larger items like lamps, pictures and TVs. Things got a lot worse when our belongings arrived at our new home, but even getting to our new home was an issue. They estimated they would be arriving between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, at 10:00 AM, I called to get an update and was told they had to stop so they would not exceed driving time limitations. Again, not a problem, fully understand, I was told they stopped 3 to 4 hours short of the destination and they should be arriving before noon. After many phone calls and several different stories and excuses, they finally arrived at 7:00 PM. Then things really went South, they couldn't get the door of the trailer open because the load had shifted, once open, it was evident there was no real packing, they were just putting anything anywhere. Wood shelving had fallen on top of our 65" TV and this is what was blocking the door. A 7' tall framed mirror was just placed on its side against the wall of the trailer not wrapped, when I questioned them, the said they ran out of shipping blankets. The only answer they had was shrugging their shoulders. Wall paintings and other items were just put in the trailer, again not wrapped. Fabric paintings creased, outdoor fountain broken, a leg of the table saw broke off, the list goes on and the truck hadn't even been open yet. I called Josh and he told me that he would take care of the items broken and told me to send him pictures, which I did. Once the trailer was unloaded and they were backing the truck down to the house, they snagged the AT&T cable between utility poles and pulled it down. It even got worse when they had a hard time getting the truck door open because again, the load had shifted. The truck was no better than the trailer, items not wrapped, outdoor grill directly up against the refrigerator which dented and scratched up the side of the refrigerator. I could go on for ever with the extremely poor packing that was done. I swear, anyone, even with no experience could pack much better than they did. It was evident that they just didn't care, it was not a lack of experience. At the point the truck was about half empty they stopped unloading and brought me their cell phone, it was Josh wanting to discuss final payment. I expected Josh to do the professional thing and reduce the amount to compensate for all the issues, no, he went on to explain that he under estimated the job and that it was going to be an extra $2,000 due to the extra time it took and the fact they had to rent the trailer. He quickly said he would not charge the $400 for the trailer because of the issues, but still wanted me to pay and additional $1,600. Mind you, they stood guard and would not unload anymore of our belongings until we paid. I hired About the Move to pick up and deliver out of state. I was given a ceiling price and a scheduled delivery date. About the Move under-estimated what they could handle and later required more trucks for the project, showed up 36 hours late to deliver good (without keeping me informed) and then demanded more money. When I refused, they locked their truck and threatened to keep my items. They even called the police to come out and muscle me for it. The policeman basically laughed and told About the Move that this was a civil matter, not something they were getting involved in. Ultimately, About the Move accepted the original agreed amount, and released my things. However, after an under-estimation on their part, and additional truck, delayed delivery, locked goods, being threatened by the office and the arrival of the police, this turned about to be a real headache and a company I would not recommend. I believe their expertise may lie in local moves but I would re-think utilizing them for anything out of state. The laborers were excellent but the office was very difficult to deal with. read more

Mine was a two stage move: House to Apartment while our new house was being built and later Apartment to new house. Some of our stuff was in the Apartment while some in storage provided by "About the Move". Josh, Frank and Rob came in, assessed the situation and gave us a fair quote to do the job. On the days of the move, the crew did a great job packing and moving the kit and later delivering the material we had in storage. Everything was meticulously unloaded with caution taken not to damage the furniture or the new house (walls, floors, etc) while they placed the furniture and boxes exactly where we wanted. Any damage, and there wasn't much, was immediately identified by the crew. I would definitely recommend "About the Move" to anyone moving. read more
