Mitchell came to my home and we spent hours designing a system including not only all of the typical stuff such as door and window sensors and motion detectors, but also glass break monitors and water alarms for the laundry room and sump pump areas. Mitchell did not "sell" any of this stuff to me. I asked for it and we designed an excellent system together. The reason that I am writing the review today is because this is the first time that I have spoken to Mitchell in over two years. I received an alert on my control pad that a battery was low and I didn't know which device needed the new battery. I called Mitchell on his cell phone. He picked up on the second ring. I had the battery in a drawer and he identified the device and walked me through the battery change over the phone. This tells you a couple of things: 1. The equipment that Mitchell sold to me over 2 years ago works without issue. I literally have had not spoken to him in over 2 years because I have NEVER had a problem. My big problem today was that I needed a new battery. I'm OK with that. 2. Mitchell answers his phone. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Mitchell is a good guy. He knows what he is doing and he sells good stuff. I recommend him without hesitation.

He suggested we troubleshoot over the phone before sending a technician to my house. Since the equipment is old, he had to send a technician after all. While I was waiting for the technician to arrive, I fiddled with the settings and ended up resolving the issue on my own. What really stood out to me was the honesty--both Mitchell and the technician could have easily said I needed new equipment or upgrade or unnecessary work, but instead they were supportive and completely upfront. He came that very same day and was professional, efficient and very pleasant to work with. He connected the wire on my Ring Doorbell to my electrical outlet and taped the wire very neatly along the ceiling. It is now intertwined with my cable wire and you can not even see it. Vivint is one of the worst alarm companies. Although you are a paying customer, you will also be an…read moreEMPLOYEE to Vivint. Anytime there is an issue and you call them, you ALWAYS have to troubleshoot the issue (rebooting the system, change batteries and wait up to 5 minutes before you put it back, unplug things, turn on and off your breaker, check WiFi....). These are just some examples of being a customer and employee to Vivint alarm company. I even had the system hardwired and it's still an issue. Vivint always let you know that if they have to send out a technician to your house, they will charge you a $100 fee. So don't think that you paying for this service would include the company to check out their system which could be flawed or outdated. There is also a delay in the "activity" loading onto your phone. It is very annoying because there is always an issue every month. When the "smart" thermostat acts up you are not able to turn your heat or central air on and it's an issue from the vivint end (not the HVAC or heating system). Another issue that experience each time that I call is that the phone calls take longer than they should have because the representative is repeating himself over and over again with the issue told to him. I plan to get rid of them even if I still have payments on my plan. DO NOT GET THEM!!!! The ring is sooooooo much better. And I'm sure other alarm systems are too They deserve half of a star

Worst company ever and they should get shut down and be sued for not paying employees and having them work for free. He also fines people for making a mistake at work so this company is nothing but fraud.
