I went in to get white gel on my natural nails. I can honestly say this is the worst manicure I have ever received. First she cut my nails too short, even after I told her I don't want them short, and one nail is cut crooked. The gel is so thick and sloppy, it is on the side cuticles. You can actually see bumps and bubbles in the gel. It looks like a 5 yr old did my nails for playtime. The gel goes straight across at the bottom of the nail and doesn't fit the nail bed. These nails are fresh and already look a week old. I can literally cry. They should be ashamed of this service. I will NOT return. They don't even deserve one star!!! read more

I came here with my boyfriend for my 25th birthday and I wanted to do a pedicure last minute so I came here. It's very clean and organized. The chairs are really nice and comfy. The staff were really friendly and the pricing is very standard $50-80 depending on what you want in a pedi. Mine came with a complimentary drink for the higher pedi services. They were pretty gentle with my toes and they were also professional. I am disappointed, embarrassed and upset after a really unprofessional and uncomfortable experience during a recent pedicure. When I arrived, I let the technician know that one of my big toes didn't need any work since I don't currently have a toenail there. I had a Band-Aid on it to protect it, and I explained that. He took it off anyway, saying it would fall off due to water exposure. I was like fine no big deal. What really upset me was that while he was working, he spoke to a coworker in another language, then uncovered my toe with the towel and they both looked at it and laughed. At first, I tried to ignore it, but it kept happening--even with another worker involved. It felt like they were making fun of me, and it was humiliating. I asked the technician directly if he was laughing at my toe. He said no and claimed he was just laughing because he brought me another Band-Aid. Honestly, that didn't feel like the truth--especially after how he uncovered my foot and showed it to others. A woman who I assume was the manager came over to explain the Band-Aid was for a small cut on my other foot. I told her clearly that my missing toenail had nothing to do with that and wasn't bleeding. I also told her how self-conscious I already felt about it, and how their reaction made it so much worse. She apologized, but the damage was done. I asked the technician to stop the pedicure and left. I won't be coming back. No customer should ever feel laughed at or disrespected, especially over something they can't control. read more

All I came for was to soak off acrylics. My experience here was not good. The guy who I got service from had sweaty, sticky hands and when I told him he was hurting me, he said to do it myself. I've been a client of L'amour Nails &Spa for a long while. I went in today and noticed a big sign hanging "Under New Management". My first thought was, the prices have increased. But i was wrong. The prices are the same. What changed is the extraordinary service. I asked for a Pedicure and I was immediately greeted with a smile and escort to the chair. Then i was blown away when they gave me the spa menu and asked what i want to drink. Let me just say that the Mimosa's were very refreshing. And then the service began. Owner was HELLA RUDE, was making unnecessary comments about my sister, my cousin, and me. When we told them about our nails being uneven and crooked, she blamed it on how our hands are. She said that she's not a doctor when she made my sister's finger bleed. She also commented on my sister being dark skinned and how she thinks we're not related. My cousin wanted her acrylics to be coffin shaped and she charged us extra for shaping it even though it didn't say on their price list that they charge extra. TLDR: She didn't take her time with anyone of us, she gave my sister a cut. I've been coming here since the original owners Dana and Paul. A little over a year ago (maybe more) it got taken over by Kristien. I continued to come and honestly I love this place. My nail tech Phuong is literally THE BEST. They all do great work. They always accommodate my schedule and Phuong always chats with me and makes sure my nails look great. If she sees anything wrong like a ripple she will fix it. Once I even messed up my toe after I left that wasn't completely dry and so I went back and she fixed it on the spot. Amid this happened on a Friday around 4 pm so they were busy. I come to this regularly I've been coming before the new owners showed up. I come in for a pedicure and was sitting in the water for over 15 minutes. TWO people come in after me and get serviced, now I understand if they had an appointment, but the lady informed me they had left and came back which is why they were getting serviced. THATS when I lost my mind, I feel like if someone leaves, their spot should be lost. You can't just go somewhere that has a line and leave, and then expect to get right back where you were. I've given this place so many chances to make up for their lack of professionalism but this took the WHOLE CAKE! read more

So the lady with long hair did my nails. My tips are thick at the end and. She told me my fingers aren't straight. She couldn't do the nail design I asked for which was two colors solid and just thin line at tip. Then the light color was not the color on the nail tip she showed as a sample. She continues to talk crap to her fellow worker. I use to do nails and I guess I'll just have to back to doing them...look at my filling and repaint vs hers and this set was 50.00. The color wasn't the issue... look at the nail shape. You also may want to learn about customer service. My bad I paid 5.00 less and she DIDN'T deserve a tip. You don't get tips for crappy customer service and really your lucky I just didn't pay for them. Trust me WE won't be back. I'll let you know when I open up a shop in Manteca since I just moved out here! Also when you want to give advise to your customer about doing nails why don't you share how sanitizing is so important instead of how state board is against of doing it from home and sales tax. She lied to say she didn't charge me extra, but she told me word for word "I can do white polish over but it's extra charge" Me having to wait 10 min until I was in a chair had nothing to do with the terrible service provided, I arrived a few minutes after a group of 3 came in for pedi's so waiting was not an issue. Also, all gel services usually get a GEL TOP COAT over the gel color to assure long lasting, but clearly these women do not care. They'll lie and disrespect customers by responding to negative reviews to try and cover their asses. The issue is these techs do nails without even caring or taking the time, everything is so rushed (as you can see by the photos I provided, ALONG WITH THE REFERENCE PHOTO OF NAILS I ASKED FOR) As a business owner, you should be ashamed that YOU'RE DISHONORING CUSTOMER REVIEWS INSTEAD OF APOLOGIZING OR OFFERING TO FIX IT NEXT TIME. I walked in at about noonish right after I finished class. The place was empty and they took me in for a mani and pedi! I've been looking for a great nail salon in Manteca and I couldn't find any until I yelped this place. They honestly have great reviews and I couldn't be any more surprised the two ladies that helped me out were Kay and phuong. They are really nice nail ladies and the accommodated to all my needs. I went to this nail spot on Main Street about 3 weeks ago and they had given me an ingrown! Luckily, Kay had taken it out! My toe felt so relieved! They are so precise with cleaning and polishing my hands and toes! I am beyond impressed with this place and the cleanliness of this salon! Also it is so affordable!! The one time i actually received a service here was really good. A male did my nails and he took his time, was very gentle and painted my nails very thoroughly! But when i called another time to see if he was available (i usually go to San Jose to get them done) the ladies told me he only worked there for a day and no longer worked there. This is by far the worst place to get anything done. The "manager" is rude. My husband visited this location to get his eyebrows done. She tore 1/4th of his eyebrow off!!!! She mentioned she showed him in the mirror and he said okay...(Which my husband stated was not the case!) Aside from that, the "manager" being a professional waxer should know that eye brows should at least somewhat match. See the photo for yourselves and you be the judge. Now, as for their customer service... It is the next level of horrendous. I called to help them realize what a tragedy they caused to my husband's face and instead the "manager" thought we were the ones at fault. She yelled at me word for word, "He can do what he want, I cannot do nothing". An apology would have sufficed. I proceeded to call her a nasty woman because she was so rude. I called a second time to speak to the owner and the "manager" went ballistic on me. "Your parents didn't send you to school? You call me nasty woman! I AM THE MANAGER!" I would not go back here. I think they did a good job with the COVID protections with a waiver, masks, cleaning the chairs, and with plastic shields between customer and tech but the prices were really high for the quality of service. One star for being 'safe' or 'clean'. My friend and I had appointments and they were over 45 minutes late for me. We both got an upgraded package with wax parafin and callous treatment and a scrub and they went really skimpy on the wax in the bags. The wax barely covered our feet. And then they didn't even get all the wax off my friend (we found clumps on her ankles after). For the manicure, I wanted to get a bit upgraded, but they didn't even ask me what I wanted. She began applying paint before I realized she totally skipped all the steps before hand. I had been in the salon for over an hour by the time they got to my nails and I think they just wanted to get me out (even though we had appointments!!) I wanted to be pampered not rushed. The tech pretty much only did polish (and a bad job at that) see photo. She didn't paint to the edges, got polish on my skin that she didn't fix, and the top coat was not to the edges either creating ridges and layers. She didn't take care of my cuticles at all, which have been neglected for months during COVID. My friends nails were not much better but I don't have photos. We were very very very dissappointed with our experience and I will not be coming back here again. With me, if you don't want to take care of a customer, you don't get me back. If it's more about getting me in and back out, that's not a place that deserves my business. I have done a better polish job at home read more
