Manager Leanne is extremely rude. She thinks it's acceptable to let her employees friends hang out behind the front desk with a dog! The friend's dog was not wearing service tags or a harness. I am just mind-blown Leanne, the manager, had the audacity to give me attitude for bringing this to her attention. Does she not care about the health of her customers???Especially those with allergies. The dog was right next to the lotions and eyewear. Additionally, the friend was sitting next to the salon computer over a dozen times with easy access to all of the customers credit card information!!! read more

Great customer service and great beds. Ppl need to understand that higher beds mean less tanning but do cost more. I go in level 6 for 10 minutes and I'm good for a few weeks to a month!!! read more

Wow, I am speechless. I am an avid LA TAN customer and was in the area and stopped by this location. I am horrified at what I seen in the tanning room I was placed in. First, the bed seemed like it hasn't been used in years, secondly, the filth in the room was inexcusable! See the pictures below! I do not like leaving bad reviews because I want to give serval chances but I cannot believe the filth in this place. I have been an LA TAN member for the past 10/12 years. I have given this place multiple chances throughout the year thinking it will get better and it's only gotten worse. I used to go to the LA Tan in Burbank because it was closer to my house but now I live closer to this location. I have never felt so dirty leaving a tanning spa. The beds are all cracked, dirty, fuzz and dirt flying out of the fans, and broken equipment. I also don't ever feel the tan when leaving this location either so I don't think the bulbs are being changed out when needed. I will take the extra 15 minutes to head over to the Burbank location. This place is completely neglected. Please don't waste your time here... it's sickening. read more

Don't know why I bother with this franchise. I have had a spray tan membership for several years now and they've always got some issue going on. This location has two spray booths but only uses one. Today I called on the phone before I even headed out to confirm that they had time left in the evening to fit me in for a spray tan. When I got there however they said they just got slammed and there was too long of a line to take me. Then I proceeded to be given the "well we will have two machines to clean before we leave so we can't take everyone" speech. How do you have two machines to clean when only one has been working and/or operating for the past year? I'm not stupid and that sure what some cop-out!! What a sack of lies, frustration and UNAPPRECIATION FOR CUSTOMERS. Then she proceeds to tell me that I can wait but they still might not be able to take me. I wait LITERALLY OVER A HALF HOUR and one of them finally peers over the desk to say they aren't going to be able to take me. WOW!!! Thank you for the wasted time and empathy!!! LA Tan, you really need to get it together. The customer satisfaction I've felt over the past few years has been DISGUSTINGLY low. Do I feel appreciated? Absolutely not. Salon is filthy and the beds are gross and outdated there's no manager on site and the owner doesn't seem to care

I bounce around from LA Tan to LA Tan (I work over here, live over there, go to school out that way....) and this is by far the best one!! First I'll start by saying that the staff is super, super, super nice and very helpful. Kudos to the manager for picking the right people and training them well. The girls always have helpful tips and offer advice. Typically when I'm presented with options (regarding something I don't know much about) I'll say, "What do you recommend?" I'm usually given the answer, "Uhh...well...it's up to you..." That doesn't happen here!!!! These girls ALWAYS give me the pros & cons, and then will offer their opinion. For example, last night I wasn't sure which spray tan to get bc they have two different types of booths (neither of which I've ever used...no mystic here) and she explained to me the difference between the two, which one she prefers, and which one she thinks would work best on my skin color/type. Then she walked me back there and showed me how to stand (she even got in the booth LOL), offered tips to get the best coverage, and explained the whole process. It was awesome. Second, this LA Tan is the most up-to-date that I've been to. They have the newest equipment and the staff is very well trained on all of them. Third, the salon is very clean and well maintained. (I hate going into a closet-sized room with a broken door...) My room last night had lotion, baby wipes, towels, hair net, a large leather chair, full length mirror, floor mat, etc. It was clean and painted a pretty purple color. Nice touch :) I really can't say enough about how nice this LA Tan is. Everything from the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out is a very pleasant experience. Manager is not true to her word and refuses to cancel accounts or refund payments erroneously charged after cancelation date. I had to dispute all the transactions and block the card because they wouldn't stop charging me after calling corporate, the individual salon and even the owner himself. In my defense, I gave them several opportunities to make it right and even told them I would be sharing my negative experience online if they didn't fix the problem they caused... I was quite understanding and patient. No more. Additionally, their staff has no customer service skills at all and when you leave the building they don't so much as look up, much less say good bye. Horrible business all together, the only thing nice about it is the girls up front. The manager is very rude, and the bulbs all suck. They need to start keeping up with changing the bulbs. Also I was put into room 7, and the whole ceiling in the back is completely damaged and falling out! I had to actually leave and go back to downers grove. So I have been going to this location for a very Long time . I would say years ... however it's still better then the Burbank location . Girls are not too courteous up front however they get the lone moving . There is almost always a wait here . Every Tuesday I wait for a level three for A while . The facility is clean and the girls do a good job cleaning . I feel like they can focus more on cleaning beds. The bulbs in the beds seem to be outdated . Ok so after my favorite tanning spa closed I decided to give LA Tan a chance...glad I did...I don't use regular tanning beds anymore but this LA Tan has upgrade their spray tanning to Versa Spa Pro...in my opinions one of the best around now...the place is very clean...and staff is very knowledgable and friendly...if you re into spray tans, their monthly special is great read more

i have been going to this location for years. it never looks clean and there is NEVER new bulbs in any of the beds. all the bulbs are burnt out and the bed dosent even get hot. on the positive side, the girls up in the front vicky and courtney are super nice and always helpful. read more

I've tanned in so many places, but this place is by far the best one I've ever went to. I never had as good of a color than when got tanned now. When I started I was pale and now I'm the darkest I have ever been. The place is super clean, never a dirty bed or towel. I just wish they'd have bigger selection of tanning lotions (Don't get me wrong, they have a lot, but the Burbank location seems to have more). Perfect staff, never ever rude. read more

I used this place when out on my girls day with friends....staff ALWAYS looks and acts hungover! Salon and beds are decent, but Holy crap the staff needs a complete overhaul! Refused to tan here the last time here with friends , was told I was blocked from tanning due to a $1.00 being owed... I have no membership, ONLY pay cash when I do come.... HOW could I possibly owe a $1.00... nobody would have let me tan if I couldn't pay.... this is a fraudulent charge! Which the "half awake" girl at the counter was willing to "f-ing waive" after 10 minutes of hunting to prove that I owed $1.00- So I passed in giving them my money... after another match of being screamed at by their employee!!! I went to LA tan this past Wenedsay and to be honest, I have nothing nice to say about it. I usually tan at Touch of Sun but my sister wanted to go with her friend and her friend was trying to use up a package she had bought there. Either way, I really needed to tan because my psoriasis was starting to get itchy and flaky. I wanted 15 minutes in a level 2. I figured since LA tan is a pretty big chain, their beds are pretty powerful, the bulbs are probably changed regularly so I decided a level 2 verses a level 1. They told me it would almost 20 dollars for 15 minutes in a level 2. Um....what? There was some kind of deal that if you bought a package where you tanned consecutively for 5 days, you paid 15 dollars, so 3 bucks a tan. Why did I not listen to my mother when she said "you get what you pay for". Anyway, it was my first time there, so I had to fill out a bunch of papers, which no biggie. Then the girl didn't go over it with me at all. She didn't suggest any lotions or beds to me. I was pretty much pointing at lotions asking what it was and they pretty much only had bronzers that were ridiculously over priced. They didn't tell me any distinguishing features about the lotions, like oh this one has whatever in it. They were all bronzers and all would cost you a kidney. From my experience, almost every place has levels of beds. Usually level 1 is the most powerful bed (usually more bulbs/watts, etc) and the intensity decreases from there. At LA tan, the higher the number, the more powerful the bed. So a Level 5 is actually the best. This package was for a level 1 or 2 bed so I was like chyea! Sweet deal! Not at all. So I asked for a level 2 but there was a wait for it. So I got a level 1. Then I was even more psyched because I didn't know the level system of their beds at this point. When I got into the room, I was a little disappointed. The bed was really small and looked really old but I figured not to judge a book by it's cover. (I'm 4'10'' and 103 pounds, when I think something is small, IT'S SMALL) I got changed and put my lotion on that I bought. I specifically asked for one with NO BRONZER and got one with guess what? A BRONZER. A VERY DARK BRONZER. I also paid 4 bucks for this packet so I was pretty upset that I paid 4 dollars for something I didn't want in the first place. The packet that I originally wanted was 9 dollars....for a little over an ounce of tanning lotion...not gonna happen. Anyway, I got into the bed and turned it on. Lo and behold, I probably could have stood in front of a lamp in my living room. I couldn't bend my knees because they bed was too small and I knocked the crap out of them when I tried. Apparently, someone else tried to do the same because I could see the marks from their knees, so.... only the lower portion of the bed was cleaned. Nice. There are no garbage cans or mirrors or anything of the sort in the room. Thankfully, I bring my own baby wipes so I baby-wiped myself up and put my own lotion on afterwards. I step outside and see that I have no color at all. Then I ask the girl "is that your highest level bed? because it kind of sucks." She said no, that's our lowest level. Wait a minute here. You wanted to charge me 20 dollars for 15 minutes in YOUR LOWEST BED? All the while knowing I have never been here before, but yes, I have tanned before so maybe your level system is a bit different from others? She just looked at me. And then looked at all the people waiting as if she had more important things to deal with. And that's fine and all, but I just paid 15 bucks for a 5 day package I'm definitely not going to use and another 4 dollars for a packet of lotion I didn't even want and now I'm the jerk? To put it simply, the place is dirty, disorganized, the staff is uninformed and not helpful at all. It is ridiculously over priced. I absolutely love this place! Started tanning here to get ready for prom with no intentions of becoming a regular, and I now go at least twice a week. Very welcoming staff and amazing environment. Love the beds..especially when they get new bulbs! Also, the tanning lotions there are abundant! I just stopped at LA Tan in Palos. The girl behind the counter had no clue what she was doing. She looked completely lost. I gave her my name then she just starred at me. I told her the tan treatment I usually get and again nothing. I told her the room I usually go into. Then she got on the phone with someone and she said nothing to me. I waited over 15 minutes and she gave me no answer about the problem. I could see she was getting no where with problem so I told her I would be leaving. She never said she was sorry or anything. Terribly rude staff. Every time that you walk in their faces make you feel so unwelcome, they always have an attitude. It says that the salon closes at 10 PM during the week and each time I arrive around 9:15-9:30 they are already closed with all the lights off and doors closed. read more
