I'm still on the fence about how many stars to give Coco Bay. I might have to revise this review…read moreafter a while. Yes, this place is old. Yes, this place is in need of some repair. If you want a luxury tanning salon, go elsewhere. If you want the SAME tanning bed you'll get at that luxury salon for a lower price, go to Coco Bay. What really sells Coco Bay for me are two things: 1) They emphasize package purchases (single tans valid for one year, great for those of us who tan less frequently), and 2) The 10% tan tax is included in their list prices. My main concern is similar to another Yelper's who reviewed Coco Bay. The Level 1 beds are weak. I bought a month of Level 1 that entitles you to unlimited use of the Ruva, Wolff, and Tropical beds. I was up to 15 minutes in the Ruva and Tropical beds, so I started in on my Level 2 Ultra 600 tans (20 tans purchased, valid for one year). Usually, once I'm up to 15 in a Level 1, I can do the 600 for full time and not get pink at all. Well, I was lobster status after one tan in the 600. This tells me, without a doubt, that the Level 1 beds either have super old bulbs or are those very old, low wattage machines. I'm an extremely responsible tanner, doing everything I can not to damage my skin, and I did experience some minor damage because of the way they maintain their Level 1 equipment. On the bright side, I can confirm that the Ultra 600 is a high quality machine. I do like that Coco Bay considers the Ultra 600 a Level 2 bed, whereas most salons consider it Level 3, so I save a fair amount of cash simply because of how they categorize their beds. They have two 600s, and one is perpetually broken. I have seen their maintenance person in the salon before, so I'm not sure why it's not yet fixed. At least they're trying, I guess. If you like Mystic tanning, you'll have to go elsewhere, unfortunately. They have no spray tan booths. They do, however, have custom airbrush spray tanning. I haven't tried this service, so I can't comment. The weirdest thing I've found about the salon are their "summer hours." They change their hours for the season to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday. I honestly hate that. I like tanning early in the morning or after it's dark. BUT if it saves me money because of a reduced staff, fine. And by the way, the two girls on staff whom I have met are friendly and helpful. Ultimately, Coco Bay is a great value tanning salon. I would absolutely recommend it over Body Perfect Bountiful and Planet Beach.

This is a sorry excuse for a tanning salon. I would never step foot in this place if I were you…read more Bulbs were burned out in the bed, the owner couldn't help me out because she was too busy flirting with some dude on the phone. The place looks old inside and needs some cleaning up. I give it one star because of its location, however I will not be returning!

Poor Business Practices 4 years of loyalty. $100s spent…read moreGood relationship with Stylists. Used and loved Lauren and Abby. Cuts were 65.00. Abby left. Salon referred me to Allison. No mention of that cut being $90.00 until checkout. Got home after 3 hour roundtrip and haircut was incorrect. Nicely called Salon, texted, sent pictures. Owner called and "we want you to be happy. We will refund your money and even pay another salon to fix it, or you can come back and we will refund and fix it free. Chose to comeback to Allison. Have receipt for $90.00 refund, screenshot of refund which pended in my account until he reversed it, and kept the money. Told me while she was cutting my hair that since "we can't make you happy" and he was refunding my 90.00 I was not to come back to the salon. I just saw where Allison is listed as partner and lead stylist. Haircut still not correct. Uneven, shaggy bottom. She was late for our 9:00 appointment. Not offered a beverage. She is nice and this is not a personal attack on Allison or the Salon. I simply called them and told them I wasn't happy with the haircut. Dishonest and ungrateful and abusive response to 2- 3 hour round trips (I live in Ocilla, Ga) and 4 years of loyalty and paying more money to them than other salons.

Interior of the salon has cool view bed and cozy feel. Shayla did a fab job bringing me back to a consistent color. (See prior hair review.) She chose a Fuller shampoo for my "not as thick as it used to " hair, then styled it out straight, sans a Brazilian Blowout. Reasonable pricing.lol and worth the drive for a relaxing, done-right hair treatment.
