I've been a client for years. the staff always greets me so friendly, always eager to answer any questions and help me decide what would work best for me. Staff is always working hard, thorough, and fast cleaning everything to get you and clients in in a timely manor. i keep returning bc I'm satisfied with my results, the cleanliness of place and friendly staff that acknowledge you when you are leaving as well. I'm extremely disappointed with Darker Image after being a monthly members for over 8 years. Even though we didn't use our membership often, we kept it to support the local business. Unfortunately, since Manager Kelsey left, the service and integrity of this place have gone downhill. We canceled our memberships back in August when we moved, gave them the required 30 days, and they still continued charging us. When I called to get it resolved, I was told I'd have to wait until next Tuesday to speak to the manager. That's unacceptable. I asked for the owner to contact me, and the girl, I was talking to said she was going to text the owner my contact information and I haven't heard back. That's how much they value their customers. On top of that, they refuse to honor the bonus bucks I earned as a part of the perks for being a membership holder. It doesn't matter how long you've been a client--they clearly only see you as a dollar sign. Their responses to reviews are just empty words, and my experience proves it When the owner had the opportunity to make this right. After years of loyalty, it's very disappointing to be treated this way. I would strongly recommend avoiding this business. I wish I had known sooner, because I would never have supported them for as long as I did. Update A week went by with no response, and I had to call back again myself. When the owner Kelley finally called me, she acted completely inconvenienced and bothered that I was even asking for this to be resolved. I'll admit I didn't use the best words out of frustration, but It's hard to stay calm when your account keeps getting billed after cancellation and no one responds to resolve it. Again After years of loyalty, it's incredibly disappointing to be treated this way. I chose Darker Image because their prices are completely reasonable. The tanning salon by my house in Layton, which shall remain nameless, is what I will respectfully call a rip off. Anyway, I have to drive a few miles out of the way to get to Clearfield, but this salon makes my time worth it. They frequently have deals on their website for percentages off packages and other services. The best part about Darker Image is that you don't have to be a "club member" to purchase unlimited months of tanning nor do you have to sign up for EFTs that you must cancel in writing. Their pricing is straightforward and fair. Period. The staff is helpful and the facilities are clean: arguably the most weighty factors in choosing a salon. They also leave a Jolly Rancher on the towel in each clean bed as a fun little bonus. It's not much, but it communicates that they care about customers' experiences of their facility. I'm taking off one star because Darker Image claims that all their beds are one level higher than other beds in the area (Level 1 is comparable to our competitor's Level 2 and so on). I can confirm that their Level 1 beds are indeed Level 1's, and their stand up is definitely just a standard Level 2 stand up. I've used plenty of beds levels 1-4 and can spot bulb wattage pretty easily. This definitely shouldn't discourage you from using Darker Image, just know that you're likely not getting anything here you wouldn't get elsewhere. I highly recommend Darker Image Tanning if you're looking for a clean, affordable tanning salon--I plan to be a long-time customer! EDIT: I forgot to mention their hours. They're unbelievable! Such a great experience every time I go! They are always so friendly and never pressure me into paying more for their product or for a different level bed. They always give a time estimate on about how long they would recommend you stay in the bed for so you never have to worry about over doing it and getting burnt. Beds and salon are very clean and walk in waiting isn't very long. Darker Image has so many different packages for any budget. I buy "tans" instead of a monthly package because I travel and I am not always able to truly utilize the monthly deals. By doing so, my tans never "expire"! There are lots of lotions to choose from if you need one. They offer a military discount, which is super great. Each team member has always been very courteous and super helpful. I love their hours and that I can call an make an appointment. I recommend them to anyone looking to get a tan. read more
