We ordered the large Mjesano for four. We should have ordered the regular which still would have had more than enough meat for the four of us. Had we done this, we would have also had room to try the Shopska salad with Bosnian Feta and then the baklava and the Tufahiji for dessert. As it was we had no room for the salad and apple dessert. That was our mistake , not the restaurant's. All the meats were delicious but the Cevapi was something special. The baklava was a great finish. Oh... and the pita was amazing! Think English muffin like pita. So so good. Can't wait to get back to Vancouver to go again.

Bosnian food in Vancouver? YES!…read more What a find, it's tiny, the food is authentic, the service is friendly and prompt. They take reservations, do it. This is a place that celebrates meats, secret recipe sausages, steaks, chicken and fries. They have sauces to pair with the different meats Wine they claim the Muesano Meso feeds 2, I wouldn't hesitate to order this for a party of three regular appetites and even four lighter appetites. The pita bread lives up to the word bread like no other pita bread. The desserts are as much of a cultural experience as the main courses, save some room for them or you will be missing out.

We ordered a rosti for an appetizer which doesn't disappoint, just like how I remember from Zurich. We both ordered dishes with spaetzle, schnitzel and goulash. I opt for a salad with the famous Martin's dressing while my wife gets a French onion soup she claims is the best she's ever had and that's saying something, because we've eaten 3 Michelin Star French onion soup so I try it and now I'm a believer. The chicken broth is so tasty, the onions and cheese are wonderful. It's the simple things really that can make one happy. After conversation and lots of eating, we soon find we've devoured our plates. It's been awhile since I had really good spaetzle so this was a treat. Service was attentive at every step. The dining experience like high end but in a more casual setting. Would go here again. Recommend reservations since seating is limited.

From…read morethe moment you walk in, you're wrapped in a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels both intimate and delightfully unexpected, with charming Hawaiian inspired decor that somehow pairs perfectly with the rich comfort of authentic Swiss cuisine. The food is truly outstanding and clearly made with care. Every dish is prepared fresh and made to order, and it shows in both flavor and presentation. My favorite dish, the émincé zurichoise, is rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying. Pure comfort on a plate. What really sets Swiss Hibiscus apart is the heart behind it. This is a place where tradition, quality, and hospitality come together seamlessly. It's rare to find food this authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently excellent, all served in such a welcoming, one of a kind setting. If you're in Portland and looking for something special... whether it's a cozy date night, a celebration, or simply an unforgettable meal, Swiss Hibiscus is a must. I can't recommend it highly enough and will happily return again and again!!!

The waiter came by several times to check in on us and served each course right after we finished the previous course. The seafood was absolutely delicious and everything was seasoned to perfection. I probably wouldn't get the pork again because it was pretty dry but I would definitely come back to try more of their seafood offerings. The lemon curd peppercorn meringue was also delicious and was executed perfectly- such a unique combination.

We were genuinely excited and looking forward to a special evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short, especially given the price point and strong Yelp rating. The oxtail croquettes arrived cold, which was surprising for a fried item and set a disappointing tone early. The biggest issue was the hamachi crudo. It had a strong fishy smell with clear hints of ammonia and tasted far from fresh, bordering on spoiled. There was a lingering aftertaste that unfortunately affected everyone's palate for the rest of the meal. We sent it back due to quality concerns. My family and I grew up eating liver and mousse from our own family recipes and from many different culinary traditions. The chicken liver mousse here was creamy in texture but lacked depth and subtle sweetness, and tasted overly mineralized. It was the first chicken liver mousse I have ever not finished. The crab beignets were acceptable, though they could have used more crab. The accompanying sauce was well executed. The miso deviled eggs were tasty, and the anchovy add-on worked nicely. The Parisienne gnocchi, at $40, was not memorable and leaned heavily salty. Steak frites were standard, a dish that is generally hard to fumble. Unfortunately drinks. The shift in service after we sent back the hamachi was obviously uncomfortable and noticeable. The energy dramatically changed. There was little interest in engaging with our feedback. For a meal that totaled over $200, we left disappointed and still hungry. Portland offers many stronger dining options at this price point that deliver both quality and hospitality. Disappointing feels like an understatement. I am genuinely puzzled by the high rating based on the food quality and service we experienced. We will not be returning, nor would I recommend it based on this visit.

The waitress kept touching my friends and they felt uncomfortable, she kept telling us sorry that's what she does to show appreciation to her customers but all we were hoping for was to get hydration and food in during our time there, check out took forever as well- we were there for over 3 hours but half of the time was waiting around.
