Fried cauliflower & fried eggplant plate (#8) I couldn't wait to dig in so it's a mess my pic but absolutely delicious. 10/10.

I got the # 8 (fried eggplant and cauliflower plate). Incredible flavor! A mix of all the goods - salad, rice, baba ganoush, fried egg plant, fried cauliflower, and pita. I got a side of garlic yogurt. Just delicious 10/10

We came here for a pick lunch at Hawthorne Asylum and this was a great find. Basically Hawthorne Asylum is a food truck pod. It's an area where a bunch of food trucks are lined up nearby and you get a chance to try a bunch of different foods. This place was focused on Mediterranean food. One of my favorite dishes was the falafel platter. It was so dense and easily enough for at least 2 people. Maybe consider splitting a lot of these entrees if you want to try more options. So excited!! I was out shopping and stopped here in search of yummy veggies and stumbled upon this new Lebanese food cart located in the Hawthorne Food Asylum. First of all I have never been here and this food cart location is amazing. The photos hopefully show you how yummy the food is. I took it home and plated it and underneath the cauliflower was a delicious salad of pickles, tomatoes and I believe some shredded cabbage. It was SO good. I will be back and will probably be looking for any reason to stop in here and grab this again. It was that yummy and I encourage everyone reading this that loves veggies like I do to go check them out. But they also have regular food too. Check out the menu! I posted a photo. I just get giddy over veggies. The guy working was really nice and I really hope he gets good business so he will continue to be there for me when I go for my food.

This place absolutely rocks! The falafel sandwich had the falafels grilled eggplant and veggies. Crispy falafels not burnt. Perfectly grilled eggplant. And a huge fresh pita shaped like a football to hold it all together. Only $10. Three stars to start. Plus one for quality. Plus one for value. Bonus for friendly staff! 5 stars.

I think sometimes restaurants have a different level of quality or care for to go orders and I want to call that out. However, the food is quite expensive, and VERY disappointing. Things I ordered Pita bread - was extremely dry, leathery, un-chewable. Must have been stale. Dip mezza - hummus not smooth, no flavor, Lebneh was ok, baba ghanoush almost tasted of artificial smoke flavoring. Shatta - absolutely not shatta. It was oil with chopped herbs that has definitely gone bad. Again absolutely no flavor. Paid $5 for a tiny to go condiment cup of it! What a rip off. Falafel - meh. Lamp gyro - fiance thought it was ok, but also, very bland. There are so many good middle Eastern restaurants I will definitely never order from this restaurant again. It's really sad when you can tell that an establishment simply does not care about the quality or the culinary technique that goes into their food. Especially when they charge so much!

I believe, they also shopped their little store for some take home treats! We will be having a food-to go, again, so we can compare the difference in how they fixed lamb. During Easter, that's what I was craving, and I didn't get that. UPDATE #2: Because it's Easter, I craved for lamb shanks. Instead of traveling to Vancouver or SW PDX, for two of our favorite restaurants, that have also lamb, I DECIDED to have to-go from Ya Hala, another of our favorite restaurant, because they're only 7 mins. from home. After searching for their menu, I ordered: Spring Lamb Pomegranate-glazed leg of lamb served with spinach-pomegranate sauce, basmati rice, and fresh peas -- $28. (See photo, why I am deducting a star). THIS is not worth $28, and it is something you'd find at a Food Cart for $14. It was also tough! I was so disappointed, and I'm not sure I'll be going back!

They also had a special dinner buffet with selective vegetarian & non-vegetarian options for a fixed price. We also had the option to order off the main menu. There is also a bar area up front with smaller tables. The staff were very friends and kudos to them to handling a bigger group without any issues. To sum it up - Delicious Lebanese food, fun music, lively conversations, and an unforgettable belly dancing performance that brought such fun energy to the night!

You can tell they are happy to be there and share their cuisine. We started with warm Meat Warak Enab (Grape leaves filled with seasoned ground beef, basmati rice, and chick-peas, simmered with lemon, olive oil, garlic, and herbs) and they were some of the best I've had if you compare them to dolmas. The pita bread was served in a plastic bag which is a bit off-putting (but worked great for a to-go bag and did keep the pitas warm). It was soft and fresh and tearable for their incredible hummus and baba ghannoj. I got the Maza Al-Amir "Lebanese Tour" with kharouf (which is Arabic for lamb). It was the most succulent lamb I've had in my life on a bed of basmati rice with a few raisins (they blended in well) and a tangy fresh parsley/onion/tomato/lemon mixture alongside generous portions of hummus and baba ghannooj, a chilled veggie warak enab, and a crispy and flavorful falafel with some tabooli. They also served a special house red sauce and said it was to go with the rice. I loved it; it was like a beautiful homemade marinara. My friends had Turkish coffee and the aroma of cardamom around the table made my heart warm. I'll be back! Bisehetkon! (Cheers to a group)
