This wonderful downtown Syrian restaurant is not to be missed. The service is wonderful, the food is amazing. Huge selection of Middle Eastern tasty delights! I had the chicken Shawarma sandwich which came with a Mediterranean salad, hummus, fresh pita, fresh greens and a wonderful tahini dressing. Very cute space both indoors and outdoors.

We had the most delicious lunch here yesterday. (And since we took half our sandwiches to go, it was a most delicious dinner too.) The sandwiches are available only at lunch. And they come with house made pita bread, humus and a side salad (we upgraded to the tabouli salad.) The sandwiches themselves are in a pita "wrap" and the pita bread itself is light, and delicious. My friend had a chicken sandwich and I had the Lebney sandwich. Both were amazingly tasty. As was everything we had here. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Portland. The restaurant is super cute, and conveniently located right downtown and the service was speedy, attentive and friendly. Super convenient, speedy and delicious! This was a great new find and we cannot wait to return!

Truly some of the best Syrian/Lebanese food I've ever had. Habibi's the perfect spot to grab a quick lunch that won't make you hit the afternoon slump. I got the mezza meat plate because it gives you a little bit of everything -- trust me you'll want to try it all! The meats (beef and lamb) were savory and tender, the hummus paired perfectly with the main meats, falafel were crispy and not dry, and the tabouli and grape leaves balanced out the whole meal. Everything was so fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. If you're worried about the afternoon slump, get the Lebanese coffee, it'll definitely wake you up. It's served piping hot and has a sweet but strong dark roast flavor. It reminded me of Vietnamese coffee but a little less sweet. Definitely bookmark this for your next lunch in PDX!

Hummus and bread.

Popped in for a light dinner. They have an a la carte section of the menu, so I got hummus and bread, and one skewer of kafta with a Diet Coke. The hummus was a large portion and some of the best I've ever had, the bread was thin, hot and perfect, and the Diet Coke was in a glass with free refills. All in all, it was exactly what I was looking for! I'm only in Portland maybe once a year, and this will be a definite stop every time! Don't think about it, just go there and enjoy the great wait staff and outstanding food. You'll thank me, for sure!!

AMAZING! I was introduced to this place by a great friend who's a regular here, and now I see why. This spot is incredible and offers great food at a fantastic price! Lately, I've been obsessed with their hummus, which I always get to go. It comes with a pita, and here's a tip: if you order through Slice for takeout, you save 5% on your order. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from, whether you're vegan or not. They offer unique specialties and crowd favorites. The interior is cozy with limited seating since the place is a bit small, but don't let the size or appearance fool you--this is an amazing hidden gem! Definitely check it out!

Delicious food, attentive & friendly service, and reasonable prices. I was in town for a conference, and wandered in on a Saturday at 6pm. I was fortunate to score a table by the front window. What a pleasant experience to nosh on baba ganoush and a lamb kebab - while watching the street scene. Right on the Max line, too. One star off for the bathroom. Please give it some attention.

I was actually rollerblading to downtown from my house. Did about 15 miles. Was very hungry. Wanted to eat some light soup. Remembered this place. I came in on my rollerblades. My owner was very chill about it. Delicious lamb shank broth. Comes with a salad. Basmati yellow rice & fresh hot pita bread! Very delicious friendly! Would recommend to anyone anytime if you want some authentic Syrian food!

Good service. But worst Mediterranean food I've had. 2 of the dolmas were mixed up with the vegetarian ones. The mix platter has bits of meat that was like leftover meat.

Great service. Tasty food. It was the only Lebanese Restaurant we found open on a Monday night, and we're glad we did!

Food was very good. Mujaddarah was a little bland and the lamb shawarma a little chewy but tasty. Chicken and mushroom calzone was a hit!

I think sometimes restaurants have a different level of quality or care for to go orders and I want to call that out. However, the food is quite expensive, and VERY disappointing. Things I ordered Pita bread - was extremely dry, leathery, un-chewable. Must have been stale. Dip mezza - hummus not smooth, no flavor, Lebneh was ok, baba ghanoush almost tasted of artificial smoke flavoring. Shatta - absolutely not shatta. It was oil with chopped herbs that has definitely gone bad. Again absolutely no flavor. Paid $5 for a tiny to go condiment cup of it! What a rip off. Falafel - meh. Lamp gyro - fiance thought it was ok, but also, very bland. There are so many good middle Eastern restaurants I will definitely never order from this restaurant again. It's really sad when you can tell that an establishment simply does not care about the quality or the culinary technique that goes into their food. Especially when they charge so much!

I came in with friends who are vegan and gluten-free, and before we even had to ask, the staff marked up our menus with everything they could eat. Not just a couple sad options either. A ton of them. This kind of consideration is something I've noticed across Portland, and it's a big part of why I love visiting. Food-wise, we had some real standouts. The roasted carrots were deeply flavorful, the curried black lentil salad had that perfect balance of hearty and bright, and the tahini ice cream was one of those desserts you keep thinking about after the trip ends. Also, do not skip the beer with a slushy float. It sounds chaotic, but somehow it works. Fun, refreshing, a little unexpected. Come hungry, especially if you're dining with mixed dietary needs. Standout dishes: Hummus & Spicy Lamb Merguez Gravlax Lamb Carnitas Street parking wasn't too bad, which is always a win in SE. Honestly, I'd come back for the atmosphere as much as the food. I believe, they also shopped their little store for some take home treats! We will be having a food-to go, again, so we can compare the difference in how they fixed lamb. During Easter, that's what I was craving, and I didn't get that. UPDATE #2: Because it's Easter, I craved for lamb shanks. Instead of traveling to Vancouver or SW PDX, for two of our favorite restaurants, that have also lamb, I DECIDED to have to-go from Ya Hala, another of our favorite restaurant, because they're only 7 mins. from home. After searching for their menu, I ordered: Spring Lamb Pomegranate-glazed leg of lamb served with spinach-pomegranate sauce, basmati rice, and fresh peas -- $28. (See photo, why I am deducting a star). THIS is not worth $28, and it is something you'd find at a Food Cart for $14. It was also tough! I was so disappointed, and I'm not sure I'll be going back!
