3-4/5 for food, but 5/5 for drinks and service!…read more We noticed this place always had a long line coming out the door, and finally getting the chance to go up the elevator to see the city from above, it's no wonder! Gorgeous views, energetic vibes, clean and modern interior. We went to the izakaya side to get a late night snack and drinks, and I am still dreaming about the drink that I got! It was that delicious. For drinks I got the melon & vodka (I asked the server which he recommended between that and the mango & amaretto and he instantly said the melon & vodka!) and it did not disappoint! So so good! I've been wanting to figure out how to make it at home. It was sweet, had a delicious honeydew flavor, and tasted nothing like alcohol -- just my type of drink. My bf got the passionfruit & bourbon and thought it was yummy, had great balance, and the spice was a nice touch. While our drinks were 10/10, our food was just okay. We got the Wagyu nigiri (good meat but not necessarily anything to write home about), agedashi aubergine (pass, tasted weirdly like whiskey), tuna sashimi (my favorite of the four; I enjoyed the added crisp from the topping), and miso chicken thigh (not bad but pretty salty). Great vibes, fun location, fantastic attentive service, top notch drinks, but passable food. I kept wanting to go back just to get that melon & vodka!

If Yelp allowed it, I'd give Bistro Sud 3.5 stars. Bistro Sud is a great option if you're in the neighborhood. It's not the kind of place you'd cross town for.

Truly a work of art (I almost never snap a picture of food and I couldn't help but take one it was so pretty). The flavors were amazing but it is quite rich so I was happy to share with my husband this one and the salmon appetizer (also very very good but not as outstanding). The mains were tasty but a bit heavy of the salt (especially the veal). Loved the way the chef incorporated a hit of acidity/fruit in the dishes - especially the witch flounder main. We were too full for dessert (but I regret not trying a bite). We loved sitting at the bar and watching the chefs work. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent. Highly recommend you give this place a visit - NY Times and Michelin were right about this place.

The energy is buzzing, chic, and effortlessly Stockholm. I went for a Queen's Negroni to kick things off (a dangerously smooth twist on the classic) and paired it with their pommes frites and aioli, which might honestly ruin all other fries for me. Perfectly crisp, golden, and that aioli? Let's just say I considered asking for a to-go jar. The whole vibe is stylish but still welcoming where you get the sense this is where locals actually hang out, not just a tourist checklist spot. Service was sharp, warm, and kept the night flowing without a hitch. Bottom line: Nybrogatan 38 isn't just a meal, it's a mood. Come for the cocktails, stay for the fries, and leave plotting your return.

Located next to its Michelin 2 star sister restaurant, this restaurant is owned by the same people. In fact one of the owners was back in the kitchen working this evening. Speceriet services mid size plates big enough to share but small enough to eat on your own. Dishes change frequently based on their farm to table ingredients availability. They recommend you to get 4 dishes if arriving in a pair, and they do not think you need more though most people would want to try to get more than 4 things of this incredibly assembled menu, as they are reasonable and each thing is unique. For this evening, things that piqued my interests were raw fish with juniper oil, cod with almond and salsify, duck and deer. But oh wait, how could I not order moose tartar? Add that please. It did not have elk but I had elk last night. So not too bummed. Given the current US politics, those of us in Blue States would not be caught dead in red states, leaving the only option to eat exotic game meat to Scandinavia. Last year I was fortunate enough to visit Alaska and Bergen, Norway back to back. I had finally got myself over the hump of reindeer meat and elk and moose. I was also incredibly greedy with the cod business, because when cod is fresh it tastes creamy and soft and without strong fish flavor, though oily, it's a treat if you can get your hands on it. None of the dishes were overly complicated but the dishes had all very distinct, nordic taste while being incredibly innovative in terms of seasoning, ingredients, and flavors. The combination of varies items in a dish was a bit of a surprise, but they all worked very well. Then there is the price point, everything on the menu were between $14 to $19. Dessert was less than $10 and it all comes with complimentary drinks before dinner. You can easily fill yourself with 2 things, and chances are you are going to pay for less than $40 per person because these prices already include tax. Stockholm, being the capital city of Scandinavia, often prides itself for being relatively affordable. Now with the USD SKR exchange rate favoring USD, it seems much more affordable all of sudden. I don't know if this is the norm in Stockholm or I hit the jackpot but the food was a bargain considering the quality and quantity. Make a reservation. Arrive on time. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here if you are into food. Now that I've done a tour (again) of this town's who's who restaurant business, all of sudden I don't feel so in dire needs of consuming true Scandinavian food in the Bay Area or New York. I can wait until I return here again.
