Located next to its Michelin 2 star sister restaurant, this restaurant is owned by the same people. In fact one of the owners was back in the kitchen working this evening. Speceriet services mid size plates big enough to share but small enough to eat on your own. Dishes change frequently based on their farm to table ingredients availability. They recommend you to get 4 dishes if arriving in a pair, and they do not think you need more though most people would want to try to get more than 4 things of this incredibly assembled menu, as they are reasonable and each thing is unique. For this evening, things that piqued my interests were raw fish with juniper oil, cod with almond and salsify, duck and deer. But oh wait, how could I not order moose tartar? Add that please. It did not have elk but I had elk last night. So not too bummed. Given the current US politics, those of us in Blue States would not be caught dead in red states, leaving the only option to eat exotic game meat to Scandinavia. Last year I was fortunate enough to visit Alaska and Bergen, Norway back to back. I had finally got myself over the hump of reindeer meat and elk and moose. I was also incredibly greedy with the cod business, because when cod is fresh it tastes creamy and soft and without strong fish flavor, though oily, it's a treat if you can get your hands on it. None of the dishes were overly complicated but the dishes had all very distinct, nordic taste while being incredibly innovative in terms of seasoning, ingredients, and flavors. The combination of varies items in a dish was a bit of a surprise, but they all worked very well. Then there is the price point, everything on the menu were between $14 to $19. Dessert was less than $10 and it all comes with complimentary drinks before dinner. You can easily fill yourself with 2 things, and chances are you are going to pay for less than $40 per person because these prices already include tax. Stockholm, being the capital city of Scandinavia, often prides itself for being relatively affordable. Now with the USD SKR exchange rate favoring USD, it seems much more affordable all of sudden. I don't know if this is the norm in Stockholm or I hit the jackpot but the food was a bargain considering the quality and quantity. Make a reservation. Arrive on time. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here if you are into food. Now that I've done a tour (again) of this town's who's who restaurant business, all of sudden I don't feel so in dire needs of consuming true Scandinavian food in the Bay Area or New York. I can wait until I return here again.

Only disappointment was that in a lot of the other dishes (not pictured) the meat was a bit dry including their signature chicken and steak. Grilled lamb 9/10 : My meat was a little dry but still very yummy and well seasoned. The side sauce/butter complimented the meat very well and was delicious. And the potatoes were heavenly with just enough crunch with a buttery softness. And the tomatoes added an acidic bite that cut into the richness quite well. Swedish meatballs: 11/10 the best in Sweden that we tried on our trip! Homemade and super tender with a delicious sauce and lingonberries. Panna Cotta 10/10 : This is my favorite dessert and it was made really well here. The peaches were fresh and the Panna cotta was light and not too sweet. I'm not a big fan of the crumble but it tastes really well especially the sorbet which was just divine. Tip: Might need a recommendation, but walk in for small groups might be doable as well

Not sure why they gave us the dinner menu (except something are a bit pricer) instead of the lunch as the dinner menu said from 5:00pm, so I'd ask about that if it happens to you. Stockholm is expensive enough! Service was nice, not amazing (few places are anymore). Atmosphere was classy, cozy, a slightly upscale. Not sure how people dress at night, but we weren't dressed up at all.The food was good. Like, really good. I got a chicken Caeasar salad...and who really has high expectations for that? Nobody. But now you should. Because it was awesome. Maybe just a bit too much dressing, but I was fine with it. I would eat it again in a heartbeat. My husband got the shrimp salad and really enjoyed it. He mentioned that it seemed strange that it was 1/4 of an avacado for the entire salad and really could have used more. The portions were, what I would consider, American-sized. Maybe in Amsterdam I'm just used to smaller sizes and plates, but these were definitely meal-sized salads! Bread was delicious and served with proper olive oil. My Reisling was spot on. Pricey "lunch" but really, it was bascially dinner and in that case, it was more normal I think. Would recommend!

So I reached out to a good friend and she recommended a hand full of places that included Tennstopet! My meal consisted of the Steak Tartare starter, "Today's cut of reindeer" for my main, and the Apple cake for dessert and each complemented each-other perfectly! The tartare was fully loaded with trimmings and tasted great. The reindeer was perfectly cooked and pre-cut, not tough /AT ALL/. And the Apple cake, all I can say is that you HAVE to get the Apple Cake when visiting! The texture is great and the flavor is amazing! Looking forward to visiting again!

And the service is great too. The problem is, that the food is only so-so. And the prices are pretty high too. Here are my ratings: Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Value: 3/5 We were greeted by a very friendly staff, and opted for a seat on the patio because it was a beautiful day and we wanted to be by the water. But the patio was over-crowded and the table was placed in the middle of a walkway. Not a great start. But we were moved to a different table promptly. The food turned out to be rather disappointing. And there weren't too many options either, especially for fish. Here are the details. Bread basket - 5/5. Excellent bread with some nice home-churned butter. Mackerel Appetizer (SEK 175) - 2/5. This dish was a total flop. It was tiny morsels of fish, sitting at the bottom of a bowl covered by what appeared to be veggie foliage. I had to dig past the foliage to get to the tiny morsels of fish. And it was expensive for what you get. The only redeeming quality was the nice citrus dressing. Charcuterie (SEK 95) - 2/5. Yet another flop. The dish consisted only of salami (which was very mediocre) and some other cured meat (which was pretty tasty). But there was nothing else, no cheese not even a pickle. At least the price was reasonable. Fish Special (SEK 345) - 3/5. The fish wasn't a great fish. It was very bony. And it was served with a cream sauce that was way too salty. And if that wasn't salty enough, there were slices of chewy pancetta which was even saltier. We skipped on desert. Having said that, I think that this restaurant is still worth a visit if only for the great ambiance.
