Really don't understand how any of the patrons of this little gem of a place can give any less than 5 stars! I frequent spots like this in Dallas and all over the USA and this little place is simply, perfect! Competes with the best of the best! The atmosphere is lovely!! The people running the place are second to none. The coffee - amazing! The cocktails are so good and unique and prepared with the care of a watchmaker! And they have food, delicious. Seriously, I wish I had this place near my home. Anything less than 5 starts is totally inappropriate!
I visited this place during a work outing and it was very pleasant. I had an old fashioned cocktail - Japanese infused. The staff is very friendly and will recommend many things that they have created. They are fairly quick. I think the pros and cons of this place are the same. Meaning, the place is nestled up in the corner of all the downtown shops. So if you think of it more like a speakeasy and like the hiding, it's great! But with it being a little hidden, it might be a little hard to find. It has a very minimalist and very relaxing vibe to the place.
Great interior, smaller but cute and quaint. We had the spiced sweet potato latte and black sesame hojicha. While we have not yet had its matcha the seasonal drink was a lot left to be desired. Great barista, lots of seating Will come back to try the matcha.
Your favorite coffee spot is a in a location in the heart of historic downtown Lancaster. It was my first time visiting here and I almost missed it because I didn't see any signs. To me that's part of the allure. Once you're inside, you're greeted by a chill staff in the most chill setting. The interior is inspired by Japan which is a nice touch has a calming effect. I ordered a pourover and it was as a delicious as the vibes. At the time of writing this review however, I am regretting not also trying one of the super unique matcha or espresso based drinks. I'll have to come back! You can tell they are passionate about their craft and space as every detail here done with intention.
Came here right when it opened. We tried the "Matcha, By George!" cocktail and an iced Matcha Latte. We also got chicken skewers with the most savory sauce. I don't think it's on the menu anymore though. Pretty solid spot, but just so far away!!!
Sleek, Modern, and Deliciously Unique Kyotobrew nails the modern café experience. The space is sleek and stylish with a cool music vibe that makes you want to linger. My Pistachio Hojicha Iced Latte was rich, nutty, and perfectly balanced--unlike anything you'll find at a chain. The marble toast with apple jam was fresh, warm, and comforting, with just the right hint of sweetness. Between the craft drinks, fresh‑baked pastries, and even a cocktail bar for evening hangs, Kyotobrew is more than a coffee shop--it's a destination. What a vibe.
I recently fell in love with matcha and was excited to try out Kyotobrew since it's so close to my house. Even though I took my drink to go, I loved how clean and simple the inside of the cafe was. The service was okay, I stood by the register for a couple of minutes without being greeted while the barista chatted with the customer next to me and made their drink. Overall, I enjoyed the drink I ordered and would definitely come back to visit!
DRINKS All the Matcha had a really nice green tea powder was well dissolved and they use good quality matcha. You can substitute for oat milk or pistachio milk. Strawberry Matcha - my friend got this drink. They put a little bit too much strawberry syrup, so the strawberry flavor was overpowering the matcha. The drink still tasted good, just like strawberry milk more so than matcha. Rosemary Vanilla Matcha - I personally really like this drink. I haven't seen any other place that makes this type of syrup. For me, it wasn't too sweet. I could take a hint of the vanilla, which gave a nice flavor. The Matcha flavor was really good! Definitely recommend! Ube Matcha - I got this drink to go. It tasted like they use actual ube. The ube part kind of has a bit of a soft potato texture to it which is why I'm convinced. He drinks a little on the side, but it's still a really good and you can taste the matcha! Jalapeño Cheddar Kolache - it was pretty decent overall. There's a sliver of jalapeño inside. The kolache is a lot more on the salty side, but it's still pretty decent. They also warm it up for you! VIBES The place is a lot smaller than I expected, but it's really clean. There are tables of two and tables of four as well as bar seating and some cushion seating with tiny tables. There are a decent amount of outlets throughout so perfect for studying or working on stuff. The interior has a modern, simplistic plant vibe which is really nice. Bathrooms are so pretty and clean! Gotta be one of my favorite cafes based on vibes. SERVICE Service was great! They were really quick to get the drinks out, and they bring it to you. They're also really quick to look around to see if you have any finished plates or cups to take up.
Matcha is top tier! Get the pecan cinnamon roll - omg! The southern girl in me looooves that! Service is great, friendly staff. Aesthetics of this place is also top tier! Adding to my favorite list for sure.

Such a sweet spot nestled in the town square! I tried the Hojicha latte (cold) and went right back in line to try the spiked version (hot). I also got the croissant sourdough without jam/butter bc I was very intrigued - it tasted exactly as the name suggests so it did not disappoint lol. Their drinks come unsweetened and there is an extra fee to add an alternative milk option or crafted sweeteners which are not overly sweet. Their staff were nice and the service was quick. I would love to come back and try their other cocktails!
Stopped by kyotobrew on my drive from Dallas to Austin this morning. This place is a little hidden but there is ample parking. The interior of the cafe is nicely decorated and there are several tables. The service is nice and they are quick. I ordered an iced matcha latte with their brown sugar vanilla syrup and a jalapeño cheddar kolache. I had high hopes for this matcha after hearing everybody on tiktok rave about it but was a bit disappointed after trying it. The matcha tasted like a regular matcha latte but with less sweet. I normally like things less sweet but this drink could've used a little more. I wish the brown sugar flavor was a bit more prominent, I could not tell that brown sugar was used for this drink. The matcha itself was whisked well, I did not see any clumps of matcha in my drink. The kolache was good, but nothing crazy. I think social media overhyped this place (not their fault) but that set my expectations a little too high for this place and feel like that is the case for others as well. Overall, I don't think this place is worth going out of your way to try but it is a cute cafe to meet up with a friend or to study at.
Wanted to see what the hype was about so I made the trek to Lancaster to get my breakfast on. The place is nestled between the other retail shops so you can miss it if you aren't careful! The aesthetic is nice- clean and simple, very japanese. Gives off a very peaceful ambiance. Ordered the cinnamon roll and a cold brew. Cinnamon roll was nice and soft, flavors were great. Not too sweet and the crushed pecans are a nice touch. Wish it was warm however. Cold brew tasted great, I just wish there was more of it haha. The giant ice cube takes up most of the real estate in that glass. Get here early because it can fill up quick!

It's so picturesque inside and the options for food and drink (teas and lemonades and coffees) are amazing! Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Double yes! loved this place!! genuinely enjoyed my time here; the balance between aesthetics, comfort, drinks, and bakery items did it for me. plenty of outlets too and p good prices! their toast was basically what i would expect from a Texas take on shokupan lol -- shokupan-style bread but with more of a Texas texture and ingredients. not as soft/pillowy as actual japanese shokupan and had much bigger air bubbles, but still good. could've used a lil more butter tho. matcha was actually one of the most decent i've had in Dallas, which i was pleasantly surprised by; not mind blowing compared to what u can get in Japan/LA. the caramel miso was SO good tho. perfect balance between sweet and savory where neither flavor overpowered the other. i'd say both the drinks and pastries here have really clean and honest flavors. nothing is trying too hard to be unique or complicated -- just simple, balanced, and good. was tempted to get multiple drinks but ultimately restrained myself and beyond the food/drinks, it's just a rlly pleasant cafe to exist in. aesthetically cute, comfortable enough to actually stay for a while, plenty of outlets if u wanna work, good prices, and everything i tried was solid. it hits that rare balance where the aesthetic isn't compensating for mediocre drinks. if this wasn't 30 min out from Dallas, i would probably be here every other day read more
Very happy this was my last coffee in my dallas weekend trip! I'm in love with the aesthetics of this place! Beautiful beautiful! They had quite a few cocktails that looked great that I would have loved to try, I guess that'll have to be next time! Got a iced pistachio hojicha latte and it was FANTASTIC. Pistachio and hojicha, that's a first for me as a avid coffee shop visitor. Both two things I love so I knew I needed to try it. Perfect blend, very earthy, a tad sweet (they did warn me to be fair, and while I do like sweet drinks this was just a tad bit over my sweet threshold). Still. It was great to have on my long drive back home to Houston. Enjoyed every sip of it! Ill be coming back! I recommend this place for the vibe and the pistachio hojicha alone (one of their most popular apparently as well). Well worth the visit! Thanks for a great latte on the way home! read more

Kyoto is an experience when it comes to coffee. I was never big on matcha but going to Kyoto changed that for me. The strawberry matcha with pistachio milk was game changing. The tiger shokupan toast is very fulfilling and full of flavor. The atmosphere has a very chill vibe and perfect for studying and reading as well as a quick breakfast and coffee. The staff is very friendly which is why I return at least once a week. read more
I wish Kyotobrew was anywhere but in Lancaster because it was seriously such a drive, but the area Kyotobrew is in is so quaint and nice. The interior is beautiful, and you can tell the owner really took time and care to design everything from the seating to the finishings in the bathrooms. My boyfriend and I have been on a matcha craze recently, so we came to visit right before we drove back to Austin! We liked our matcha lattes and tried their toast with some jam as well. I will say that the matcha is good but not phenomenal--you can still see the specks of matcha floating so they need to whisk their matcha more thoroughly. The toast was really soft, and the jam was a wonderful touch. read more
Customer service is great! However, I do not think this matcha is the best in the DFW area. It was more milky than I prefer my matchas to be. There is limited seating inside, so keep that in mind if your goal is to study or work here. read more

Kyotobrew is an incredible find. It's open on Sundays, which makes it the perfect weekend stop. The fluffy bread is delicious, with a texture that feels freshly baked each time. The latte has a distinct flavor that instantly reminds you of Japan, rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Every sip and bite feels thoughtfully made. Customer Service 5/5 Friendly, down to earth, caring. Matcha, by George! 4.5/5 Nearly perfect, if you like mezcal try this. I'm shocked the matcha works so well here. It's a smooth sip from beginning to end. Strawberry matcha 4/5 Strawberry was not overwhelming and the matcha on top was smooth like the mezcal. Downed this in 5 minutes. Space 5/5 Walking into the bar I knew it was going to be gorgeous: there is plenty of space to hang outside if you desire. The Spacing is inch perfect (not to glaze) but that does matter especially in a bar. The furniture is quality and comfortable. And the layout is beautiful and easy to navigate. I love the grey walls and the bathrooms that feel like you're walking into a dressing room in a balenciaga store. Simply luxurious. read more

The space is very nice, even its location within the area. Design and ambience are top notch. The pourover that I ordered tasted good, but it was served in a paper cup even if I said I wanted it for "here." The latte that I ordered to go was served in a paper cup and no latte art or any form of presentation. The presentation and service were major disappointments because I was expecting better. The coffee experience could be better for this visit. read more

staff is very sweet and they take their time to explain their menus and serve you your drinks with a pleasant attitude. vibes here are truly immaculate. good music, beautiful decor, and ambient lighting that sets the mood. matcha is incredible and made fresh right infront of you. house made syrups are not too sweet and add a nice touch to the matcha. definitely recommend the ube and miso caramel. Parking is plentiful and free. Wifi is available and free. There are only 5 tables and a few outlets so come early to secure a table. read more

Love the atmosphere and service. The matcha latte and hojicha latte were both really good. The pecan cinnamon roll was so good that we got another for the road. Love the fact that the latte was unsweetened but syrups can be added in if you would like. Definitely get really busy on the weekend but the wait wasn't too long. read more

Everything about this cafe was cozy, comforting, and calming. This cafe is so beautiful and the music is GREAT. Now, the drinks are hands down the best drinks I have ever gotten from a cafe. Their alcoholic drinks are amaaazing. I love that they use kinako powder on their express martini rims. That is so creative. Btw you have to get there fast to get their fluffy bakery pastries and bread! The staff members are so incredibly kind and their service makes me feel so welcome :,) The bartender concocted the purple Okinawa sunset drink and Ohmygoodness it was so delish I ordered like 4. 100/10 recommend and will be coming back! read more

Beautiful little shop! This unique coffee shop is tucked away in downtown Lancaster square. I ordered a mocha and it was delicious! They make all their syrups in house as well as their pastries. Very kind people and lovely ambiance. I'll be back. read more

Love this new spot, Kyoto Brew! The vibe makes me feel like I'm in Japan. Super cozy and peaceful. The matcha is amazing smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Prices are fair too, especially for the quality. Definitely my new go-to place for matcha and a chill atmosphere. read more

Currently visiting Dallas, I'm visiting from LA. I ordered the iced vanilla bean shaken americano and it is top tier. The beverage is light and refreshing with a splash of milk to give a bit of creaminess and is not overly sweet. The matchas also looked so delish from what I saw other people ordering! read more
