Kyo Matcha has become a go-to for me! I love how easy the ordering online is, and the staff is quick and kind. My favorite is the matcha brûlée. It's the perfect unique sweet treat - give it a try!
I love this place and will be back in the next 24 hours! The plain matcha latte with no sugar and whipped cream is one of the best I've had. Unlike some other places, there is a very strong matcha flavor (and you can tell by the bright green color that there is a lot in there). The interior was really pretty and I peeked at the tea tables in the back while waiting for my order to be ready.
Good smooth and creamy soft serve. A little more spendy then most ice cream places as with time it was over $9 for a cup. Prompt service. Clean dining area with a modern aesthetics. Upbeat music with loud conversations.

Parking lot can be full due to the other businesses in the strip, but still able to find a spot. The texture of the ube roll cake is soft overall. The cake is a little chewy and slightly off texture. The whip cream and cake layer is not too sweet.

I wish I had added some toppings, but next time. Hubby got the mango crepe cake, and while the flavors were good, the cake itself was kind of frozen and hard to eat. Not at all like crepe cakes I've had before! My only beef is their flavors. I get that it's a matcha focused shop, but a few more non caffeinated things would be greatly appreciated! That being said, it's definitely worth a try! They do have hojicha flavored things, which, if you never tried roasted matcha, is nutty and tasty!

At first I wanted to try the matcha soft serve but I seen all the different flavors of matcha and had to check that out. We ended up ordering Strawberry matcha & a white peach matcha. I did like the white peach matcha a lot more than the strawberry. They had a pretty decent offering of matcha items, they also had some really cute desserts that looked good. I'll for sure be back to check out more matcha. When we went it wasn't super busy but I'd say consistent with customers and it did take a while to get our drinks but it's so cute that I was able to walk around and check out the other places it's connected to.
We went to the Richfield location and there was plenty of parking! Server was very nice, but they were the only person working when we got there. So, we had to wait a little longer (which wasn't a problem for us). They have a few kiosk machines next to the door. Lots of seatings and it connects to the hot pot place. If you don't like the smell of hot pot, dining in might not be for you! We got hojicha mocha and matcha latte float. I am not the biggest fan of hojicha, but I would recommend it if you don't want something super sweet. We went late in the evening and having something that's not super sweet is a nice touch! Their matcha latte is honestly one of the best I've tried. My only complaint is there was a lot of ice and I would adjust the ice level to less than what is considered normal.
It was a hot day the other day and I was craving soft serve matcha twist - which I haven't had since visiting Matcha Cafe Maiko in San Francisco. I was so excited Kyo Matcha opened up so I could get it closer to home! The soft serve tasted incredible - very similar to Matcha Cafe Maiko. The matcha wasn't overly strong or bitter but had just the right amount of matcha taste. It was perfect. Loved the vanilla part too. My husband got mango soft serve and it was incredibly smooth and creamy. I actually liked it even more than the matcha flavor, but I'm a huge mango fan! It tastes just like the ice cream I used to have in Pakistan when I would visit there as a kid. Mangos overseas are next level so I was impressed to get that same flavor here in the states. The service was great - staff were very accommodating and offered me a tray so I could carry our order back to our table. They were really sweet and easy to talk to. Loved the ambiance of the place too - lots of modern decor and neon signs. It looked like a great place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. Next time I want to try their matcha drinks - they look amazing!
Next time I go, I will make sure that I actually look at the menu and get matcha.. lol. I was feeling bold and decided to get a black sesame latte with oatmilk. I did it half sweet. It was really really good! The oatmilk was creamy, the black sesame was kind of savory and it really did make a good, refreshing drink. It is super cute in there with a lot of fun options for matcha and desserts. Will definitely be back!
I had heard that Kyo Matcha makes amazing matcha drinks so I made my way there when I ran out of matcha at home. I got a red bean matcha drink and a lavender matcha. Both were so tasty - the lavender is definitely one I'm going back for! I ordered at a kiosk and was able to adjust the sweetness on the red bean matcha (but not the lavender one). They also had alternative milk options and boba to add in.
Small place with good number of options. I went with the banana milk drink. While I generally liked it didn't taste that strongly of banana and rather mainly was like drinking a glass of milk. Overall, I would try something different next time, but there were plenty of other options to choose from.
Awesome dessert destination! I like my matcha on the sweeter side, so I loved their swirled matcha and vanilla mixed soft serve ice cream. Seating area is clean, modern and adorable with Asian inspired decor. I highly recommend the Parfait with matcha and vanilla ice cream layered with red beans, crunchy cornflakes, and topped with 2 rice mochi balls. Service was just ok as ordering is via kiosk and there was a long line of customers waiting patiently for their orders.
This location is much better than the location on the university campus in dinkytown. The Matcha ice cream here taste much better. It taste much thicker and dense than the other location on campus. I love to get their Matcha ice cream and the Matcha tea 50% sugar and light on the ice so then it's slightly warm still because they make their Matcha tea made to order. read more
Some of the best matcha options in all of Minnesota, hands down. I ordered the matcha latte float, and it was absolutely delicious -- smooth, earthy matcha paired perfectly with the creamy sweetness on top. It struck just the right balance without being overly sweet, making it the perfect little indulgence for a Sunday sweet tooth. Most orders are placed through one of the two kiosks available, which keeps things moving efficiently and makes customizing your drink super easy. The space itself is incredibly clean, beautifully decorated, and has such a welcoming ambiance that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. I'll definitely be coming back to try their pastries next -- everything looked too good to pass up. read more

Decent matcha spot in Minnesota! The brulee had a good texture and the latte was a good drink for the heat, but I wish there was an option for extra scoops of matcha, so it could taste richer. Ice cream was very creamy and good! Quick service and it's a good spot to study! read more
Great space and kind staff! I got the matcha latte float and my partner got the hojicha latte float. I like how strong the matcha, but a bit too sweet for me even at 50%. The hojicha latte was also too sweet, but the floral taste added a nice vibrancy to the drink. We didn't get any of the cakes since it's next to Tou Les Jour, but it's on the list to come back. read more
Still love the matcha here! The crepe wasn't overly sweet, which I really liked--it was delicious. The passion fruit had a strong sour taste, but it didn't taste artificial, which was nice. It added a good balance of sweetness to the crepe. The matcha drink with ice cream was yummy, and the matcha parfait was amazing! I'll definitely be getting that again. Yes yes yes!!! I was waiting for a matcha place in MN for a long while and my dream finally came true. They sell matcha drinks and matcha related bakery/desserts. We ordered 2 towel roll and one matcha red bean cheese cake. I d say these dessert are a little pricey in comparison to other matcha dessert shop in other bigcities, at 10+ per item, but because this is the first specialty dessert shop I think they can price as they see fit. Its not too bad. The packaging is top of the line - these desserts are resting in the cute box with nice presentations. We tried two drinks too, I m guess all would of their drinks are yummy. This restaurant is somewhat connected widb another restaurant - which I think its a hot pot place. The hot pot place has strong spice smells which is a good smell, but not suitable for the matcha dessert shop. That's the only negative I could think of. read more
I keep coming here with my friends as it's super close to a ramen shop and a hotpot place! The inside is cute but the seating is limited! I tried to get a cone at my last visit but all they had was chocolate so I didn't end up getting it. The flavor is subtle so if you don't like strong matcha flavors, this is perfect. read more
I've wanted to come here for a long time and it didn't disappoint! I tried their vanilla and matcha parfait, with their soft serve, corn flakes, red bean, and mochi. The ice cream was amazing it was smooth and creamy with a nice matcha flavor that was not too strong or bitter. Totally recommend the ice cream here! read more
The amount of times I've been here since it opened... it's a lot!!!! As a lover of matcha and sweets, I HAD to see what it was all about! Let me tell you, it's so so good!!! Here's everything I've tried so far and my ratings: - milk & matcha soft serve 1000000000/10 (my absolute fav) - hojicha & black sesame soft serve (6/10 loved the hojicha wasn't the biggest fan of black sesame) - parfait (10/10 it's a lot!! Highly recommend sharing) - tiramisu crepe cake (9/10 pretty solid cake) - sunrise green tea (10/10 perfect fruity tea to pair with boba) - banana milk tea (4/10 not my fav) - mocha matcha (8/10 pairs well together) - brown sugar matcha latte (4.5/10 the matcha was clumpy) I love this place and can't wait to try the other drinks and flavors! It is a bit pricey for dessert, but def worth it in my opinion read more
They offer one of the matcha latte in the TC and they do have other matcha based drink, ice cream and cake. This place is also part of the hot pot and the Japanese ramen place so it is great to visit after your meal at one of these places or just simply to kill your day sitting inside this matcha shop. read more
What a cute dessert spot! I LOVE matcha and I LOVE soft serve ice cream so this place is basically made for me. Inside has a cafe feel, you can order at the counter or on a walk-hanging screen. The decor is modern and very zen. When I stopped by, there were people hanging out and also doing work on laptops, so a multi-purpose space. I loved the flavor of the swirl ice cream, but I bet the milk (basically vanilla) flavor would be good on its own as well. One negative: it's very expensive. The cone was $7, considering there is a Dairy Queen right across the street makes it a bit of a hard sell for just a vanilla cone. read more

I consider myself a matcha enthusiast! I've been drinking it for over 10 years. I've consumed a lot and make it at home as well. So for the past few years it's been very popular and a few places have added matcha to their menu! But now, this is the first business dedicated to matcha itself. A matcha shop! We went for their grand opening and off the bat, it was very cute, clean, and spacious. We got a free jade tumbler and a keychain! That was very nice of them. The menu looked great. A lot of desserts too. But as for me, I enjoy drinking matcha more than matcha flavored desserts. So I just wanted to try their matcha. I figured if the matcha was great, that was the base to having a great matcha shop and everything else would be good. In order an iced matcha latte. And first thing in noticed was it tasted like jasmine tea! Matcha does not have that taste. It was so distinct I couldn't even finish it. I was very disappointed because I was happy for this new shop. I will give them one more that for their desserts though. read more
We went here after getting ramen next door, which was connected. Unfortunately, the spacing seems to be a little limited due to this. Which pushed us towards to-go orders. We were here on a Saturday though. I had the Hojicha Mix Black Sesame parfait, I enjoyed it, I kind of wish the toppings were closer to the top so I could get a mix of tastes together, but it was pretty good overall. read more
Kyo Matcha is attached to Kajiken Ramen and I'm so thrilled for this duo to have opened up so close to me! The matcha flavor is the closest I've had to what I've tasted in Kyoto Japan. Their soft serve ice cream is creamy and flavorful - it's the only ice cream that I'd say I could eat the plain milk flavor all day every day! We tried the split cone as well as a strawberry matcha latte. WOW. Just wow. The place was packed and took some time to get our order but well worth the short wait! One thing to note is that you can sit on both sides of the restaurant if seating on the matcha bar side is full! Will be back to try more :) read more

I am happy to have tea shop with ice cream where I live. You order and pay at a kiosk. They have a parking lot and several tables for those that want to enjoy their treat there. They have teas, pastry type desserts and soft serve. I had the matcha soft serve and it was delicious. I am looking forward to coming back to try their drinks. I do wish they had side options for the soft serve. I would prefer a smaller and cheaper option. They have one size only for soft serve that is $7. They offer matcha, milk, and 2 other flavors. read more
Kyo Matcha just opened so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out! The cafe is smaller but it's well decorated! As soon as you enter you can choose to order at the cashier or you can order at the kiosk which is nice if it's busy or you're not super social. I don't usually drink a lot of matcha and a lot of matcha i've had i didn't love. But i still wanted to try this place out. We got the strawberry matcha latte and the white peach latte. Even though it was pretty busy inside of the shop, we got our orders very quickly. Like i said, i don't know a ton about matcha but i enjoyed what I had. The strawberry one tasted fresh and not artificial & the white peach had a nice strong almost floral taste. It wasn't powdery or overly earthy tasting however i felt as maybe the matcha could've had a little bit of a stronger taste. As someone who doesn't love matcha and is a beginner, this is a good drink! Definitely made me want to come back and try other things! read more
Soft opening was supper busy. Some frozen items started to melt as they rushed to complete the stacked orders. I would wait until it calms down. My drink was a soppy mess as they could not keep up with the crowd. This intersection looks like it will have three new eateries next to Tous Les Jours. I'm so happy the Twin Cities metro has this place. The matcha ice cream here is LEGIT. I've had matcha ice cream in Kyoto, and this is on par with that flavor-wise. So so good. The parfait is almost like a Japanese Halo Halo, which is fun. This place is connected to Kajiken (abura soba shop) and a hot pot place. You can spend your whole evening here. Quick service, and fantastic menu. Check it out. read more
So glad that this place exists! I'm a huge fan of matcha and love all of the offerings they have on their menu. You order at a kiosk and items come out pretty soon afterwards. Super cute matcha spot! Worth the visit if you are in the area or looking for dessert after Dragon pot lol. The matcha was decent! Not very bold/strong like other matcha drinks I've had in California it comes close! I noticed that they make their drink traditionally with the whisk and bowl which was really cool to see! The service was nice, they will call out your name after you place an order on the kiosk. There's display models next to the register if you don't know what the items look like, super cool! :D I ordered the strawberry matcha and my partner ordered their special matcha ice cream topped with mochi, corn flakes, red bean, and matcha cake. The strawberry wasn't very strong but I think they use fresh berries instead of purée which is cool! I ordered it regular sweetness but I do highly recommend adding extra sweetener if you have a sweet tooth! The ice cream was SOOOO GOOD!! Will def come back for the ice cream. I also ordered a cream puff which was one of my favs. It did take awhile but it was worth it and for 3.50, it was super affordable! I have yet to try their cakes but they look super yummy. They have them on display towards the kiosk machines! I will def visit again! ^_^ read more
