    Strips and Texas Toast
    Lily D.

It was the first time visiting and the staff was proactively helpful in explaining the menu. The chicken and fries were seasoned well, they are not kidding with the spice. But at least they sell Sebastian joes by the pint.

"Texas Toast" box. 3 chicken strips, fries, two slices of Texas toast, coleslaw, pickles, and Coop sauce. Spice level "Mini Coop."

Last night was my first time trying Nashville Coop. We placed a to-go order for the Strip Box and the Texas Toast box plus a pint of the Créme of the Coop ice cream. The chicken here is outstanding. It's so nice to have that real chicken meat texture that tears apart instead of something more ground up with filler in it. It's juicy and tastes high quality plus the spices coated on the outside elevate things nicely. I heard the food can be pretty spicy here so I played it safe with the "Mini Coop" spice-level, which suited me well. Just the right amount to feel flavorful but the spice doesn't last once I take a bite or swig of something else. My sister can't handle spice at all so she opted for the "MN Nice" which she actually said was still kind of spicy for her. So take that as you will if you're not a fan of spice! Their special sauce is good and might remind me of Raising Cane's, though I haven't eaten there recently. The French fries and coleslaw kind of felt standard, to be honest. But I really liked the Texas Toast! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the pint of ice cream. My wife picked up the order and didn't realize she should have looked for it in the bag. When I called the restaurant about the missing pint, they were incredibly apologetic and offered to make up for it with a pint and more next time I'd come in, but since we don't live nearby, I said just refunding the pint was fine. But knowing how much they care about customer service really did leave a good impression! I'd definitely love to eat from here again.

I drive by this place allll the time so had to stop in to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did. I ordered two chicken strips with the mild flavor and dang those are good. Each strip is a huge amount of chicken, flavorful and juicy with a perfect crust. I also enjoyed the coop sauce. The service from everyone I interacted with was perfect. My food came out quick and it stayed hot and crisp during my drive home. There were a couple tables of people dining in and everyone seemed to be enjoying. I'll be back.. maybe a little too often.

    3 tenders and fries

I came around 4 PM during the week and this place was absolutely empty. It gives fast food vibes but a tier above McDonald's for example. Not a place you would want to spend a really long time. I can appreciate that the menu isn't terribly large, and they have varying degrees of heat. You can add to your chicken tenders. I also peeped some ice cream and slushy's on the menu as well, that, I might, and that's a strong might return to try. The fries were a typical seasoned fry. The chicken tenders were quite large, spicy (I got the second level heat) and seems they were made of chicken breast, rather than dark meat. They were a little drier and tougher than expected, but still good when dipped in the sauce provided. My husband got a sandwich, which was just two tenders between a bun with pickles and coleslaw on the side. It's a solid 'meh' for me

Chicken Strips, Fries, pickles & dipping sauce

I ordered takeout on a Friday night - a 3 chicken strip combo w/ fries, I ordered the middle heat option - coop, also comes with a dipping sauce. I thought it would be kinda busy considering it's newer but it wasn't too bad. There's no "skipping the line" option as the website promotes, there was 1 cashier kind of handling everything in the front. The person in front of me ordered shakes with their takeout order & the cashier walked away for about 5 minutes to prepare them not acknowledging anyone else in line. Right as she was finishing one of ppl putting orders together in the back came to help, I told him my name, he looked where the other orders were being held and walk to the back and kind of looked lost for awhile. Eventually when the cashier came back I told her my name and she got my order right away. I waited about 10 minutes total to get my order. I know they are newer so I'll give some grace, but for sure can improve on customer service. The food- the chicken was good, crispy, well seasoned & the dipping sauce is decent. The fries were a bit soggy but okay. Overall I'd give them another try in the future. They do have a parking lot which is nice.

The inside is quite swank, featuring a pretty large bar area on the right when you first enter. We were there for a sit-down dinner, so we proceeded around the left to the counter to get a table. I noticed this place must have a decent loyal following because of the merch you could purchase there at the counter (tee shirts, hats, sweat shirts, etc)! It wasn't too busy despite it being Friday night, so we got a table right away. It was really hard to pick what I wanted off the menu because A LOT of the options looked deliciously tempting (just gonna have to go back), but I eventually decided on a shrimp pasta, and that was the RIGHT choice. Mmm, so good! And a decent portion for the price too, as I took half of it home in a to-go box. I was pleased by the speed at which they got our order ready, as well as how attentive the server was (my in-laws suck down iced tea like no one's business, but she managed to keep them topped off regularly). The parking lot is interesting, as it has above ground and underground parking (probably nice to have the option to go below during the snowy winters around here). It shares the parking lot with a grocery and some other things, which felt a bit cramped, but as I said, we happened to be there when it wasn't too crowded somehow.

I started with their signature cocktail, the Naked Dani. It comes topped with a salty foam and a little rubber duck, which makes it a fun and memorable drink. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Crispy Masa Chips, and honestly, I would probably skip those next time. The portion was pretty small, they were a little awkward to eat, and they just didn't stand out flavor-wise. The Cucumber Watermelon Salad, on the other hand, was amazing. It was light and refreshing, making it the perfect addition to the meal. The roasted sweet potatoes were another favorite--they had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Corn Elote Chipotle, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. For tacos, we tried the Pork Carnitas, and they were fantastic. If you're dining with a larger group, you can even order a larger portion so everyone gets one. Our favorite dish of the night, though, was the Zubuton Asada. It only comes with one skewer and is definitely one of the pricier menu items, but it was worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. We also tried the Chicken Thigh Pincho. It had a nice flavor but was spicier than I expected, so it's probably the one dish I would pass on during my next visit. Overall, we had such a fun dining experience. It's definitely more of a special occasion spot than somewhere I'd visit regularly because of the price, but everything from the atmosphere to most of the food made it feel well worth the splurge.

HAVAN-A-MAZING LUNCH…read more If a top-tier Cuban sandwich is what you seek, look no further than Guava's. Located a mile northwest of Minneapolis Int'l Airport, this quaint Cuban restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend.  We stopped here after visiting Como Park Zoo and enjoyed a great lunch as well as some A+ plane-watching, since Guava's is directly in the flightpath of landing jets. I started with a Bent Paddle pilsner ($6.50), and my wife got a michelada ($8) which she said was a good value and "made the right way".  There's a decent amount of seating inside as well as tables outside, although it can get noisy at times due to the nearby airport. The Cubano ($18) was one of the best either of us has ever tried: pulled pork, ham, salami, pickles, mustard, mayo, and Swiss cheese on grilled panini bread.  It came with lightly salted plantain chips and a small cup of house hot sauce.  Amazing, no notes.   5/5 The lechon asado rice bowl ($16) was equally terrific.  Delicious roasted pork - including some magical burnt ends that had me in ASMR heaven - came with black beans and maduros (sweet plantains) over cilantro rice.  Fabulous mingling of flavors and textures.  5/5 We got a side of Yuca frita ($7) w/cilantro aioli but these were almost an afterthought; my wife and I were too obsessed with our entreés to pay much attention to these lil' starchy sticks.  They have tres leches cake for dessert but we opted for a flan ($7) instead, and it was OK. * TL;DR * I'm glad that Guava's didn't try anything too clever with the Cubano, preferring to keep it classic and focus on quality. The aesthetics inside are charming, soft mint green walls with a mix of white counters and darker wood.  Staff were friendly and the food came out relatively fast.  They have a nice selection of local draft beers and plenty of great Cuban coffee. I would absolutely recommend Guava's to anyone in the Minneapolis-St Paul area, especially if they're interested in trying one of the best Cuban sandwiches of their lives.

I love this place, and the food is on par with a lot of Mexican food in California. Most recently, we went to celebrate a birthday. We go here because they are veggie friendly. It's a bit whitewashed and leans more Cal-Mex than anything you'd find in Mexico, but I'm not complaining. I love a good California burrito and asada fries, so this style has its place (especially in Minnesota). Service can be slow. It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat. Bump up the salsa selection and stop rationing it, and this would be a solid spot. For now, I'll keep getting this to go and buying my own salsa and limes.
