Had an issue with my cassette on my mountain bike. The chain was jumping off to the inside and the cassette felt wobbly. Took in my rear wheel and asked for help. I was hoping there wasn't anything major wrong or a costly repair/replacement in my future. The technician, didn't get his name, removed the cassette, greased the inside and the put it back. Turns out it had just come unscrewed and needs a special tool to retighten. We talked about local trails a bit and biking in general and I was done in a few minutes and able to ride the next day. I would definitely recommend them and will be back, hopefully not soon, but when ever I need another repair. read more

I changed an innertube on my mountain bike, and after replacing the tube, had a problem with my derailleur. I went on YouTube to try to fix it myself...and ended up making it worse ! Brought it in to Kyle Cyclery and the tech was able to fix it on-site in about five minutes...and adjusted my loose brakes to boot ! Five minutes and $30 and my bike was like new. She also gave me advice about a bib to help with seat fatigue on longer rides. These guys are the real deal. read more

I have a walker, so called Rollator, equipped with hand brakes. I needed the brakes adjusted. Since adjusting them is very similar to bike brakes, he knew how to get more braking power for me. But long story short, Mike (or Mark?) was rude to my fiancée, insulting about our build and not only charged more than Rachel quoted us but also looked for every opportunity to charge me as much as possible for the most remedial of things. The icing on the cake was not when he suggested I'm a liar when I told him the charges don't match the quote I was given but when I arrived to pick the bike up and discovered not only was the wheel he charged me to true NOT trued but also the stem was not even aligned with the front wheel. There was a scheduling snafu on the side of a 3rd party but despite being short staffed, James drove up to Austin on a Sunday to pick up my bike and had it back to me a few hours later with the new parts installed and tune up performed. I have also purchased couple of quality mountain bikes from them at a good price. I am glad we have a professional cyclist, like James, in our town. The guy has an outstanding experience maintaining and repairing bikes. My understanding is that he has participated in so many professional competitions both as a cyclist and mechanic. Basically, he was (and probably still is) the guy responsible for repairing professional athletes' gears during professional races (think about that). I recently bought a new bicycle. Yes, during this Covid-19/thousands dying/civic unresting/police brutalizing/hornets murdering/Trump dividing/unemployment rising NIGHTMARE of a time, I did the only thing I could do to save my own sanity: I went and bought a bicycle. Long story short: Bike arrived, bike assembled. Rode bike for 15 minutes. Back tire gave up the ghost and went completely flat. No amount of air pumped into it would revive the damn thing. Sought local help, none available. Found Kyle Cyclery online, texted, got immediate response to bring her on in. Tossed bike into car and drove 45 minutes to Kyle. Best decision ever. Never caught his name, but the gentleman who received me was nice as possible, helped me get the bike out of the car, had the tire diagnosed and fixed in under 20 minutes. He even helped assemble and install my new bike rack, which I had previously struggled with and had tossed into the car along with the bike.
