The garbage in the women's bathroom was full. I go to see what hot items are available for sale and the ones that you have on a discount today there's none left. Went to go add some condiments to my sandwich and the ketchup machine was completely empty. The mustard machine wasn't working. The pickles container was empty. The garbage can by the condiment stand looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. There was a line of people and the workers just stood there while only one person was at the register. This store manager should be fired.

It is the ONLY place I ever seen this and they get 10 stars from me for having it!!! 2nd: They have hand sanitizers at the pumps. How cool is that? I have never seen it either. As a public health professional I find both of these things completely fabulous! 3rd: This one most normal people will enjoy too. ;-) There is an entrance on both westbound Civic Center Drive as well as North and South bound 11th Ave NW. Not only are there entrances, but there are separate pump areas for each entrance, so coming in and out is quite easy. This was by far the cleanest gas station I have ever been to. They have a customer for life. :-) Okay, well, anytime I am in Rochester anyway.

To the gas pumps and their insistence on using a membership number. I used to have trouble finding a way to by-pass the software but now my discovery is instead of inserting the credit card, do the scan and the pump and the screen came to life and no I don't want Pepsi or a stale dog just pump me out so I can go. Now if they can ease up on the blasting country tunes. For the most part I enjoy the self-service compared to many decades ago when we had to wait for either a grumbling 17 year old drop out to pump gas and have trouble figuring change. If not a surly kid a grubby old man who wouldn't stop talking. We move a lot faster than 30 or more years ago.

Instead, while in downtown Rochester, I decided to top my car's gas tank at this Holiday gas station. This Holiday is just off South Broadway. It's a nice, large gas station with pumps in the double digits. The convenience store looked massive! I didn't need to go in. I like when U.S. gas pumps accept Canadian credit cards. The one that I used did not prompt for a ZIP code. All went well. I simply had to insert it and enter my PIN. Holiday is affiliated with Cub Foods. I got prompted to enter my Cub rewards card. I don't have one, so I skipped that part. I was thrilled to have topped off my car's gas tank. The area around the gas pump that I used was clean and great. The only downside was that each pump has a screen that plays ads. Every one was saying something that it does get noisy. This gas station is spacious. A Rochester bus was parked off to the side, likely taking a break before going back on its regular route. It didn't block any vehicle coming in and out of this gas station. I had a pleasant experience. I'll need to check out the convenience store next time I'm here. (492)

Settling for coffee as they still have the freshly made brews in air pots. Not so good: Restroom filthy, something I've never seen at a Kwik Trip. One faucet not working and sink filled with human crud, paper and water on the floor and no paper towels. There is an air dryer at least. Walking from the parking area away from pumps is a challenge, think of trying to cross a busy road where nobody slows for pedestrians.
