This was my first time purchasing from Kuzak's, and I had a great experience! The app made it really easy to preview the items and shop. I also had a few questions about one of the pieces, and their communication was excellent and even received a text back within minutes. When it was time to pick up my purchases, everything was ready at the designated time and already packed up for me. I also appreciated the multiple payment options. Amanda and Chris are a wonderful husband-and-wife team who run a tight ship. Their kindness really stood out when the bed I purchased didn't fit in my SUV, they went out of their way to deliver the remaining piece to my nearby home, even though delivery isn't normally offered. Thanks Amanda & Chris, you've restored my faith in humanity! read more

Amazing how to run the business. And so happy to see the business reopen again. Cheers

First, what they did right. They did not take anything to which they were not entitled. They showed up when they said they would, and packed and removed the goods promptly and efficiently. These are notable virtues in the moving business. The problem came with the disposal and sale of the belongings. Throughout the planning process, and even during the packing, Amanda Kuzak kept emphasizing orally to me the diligence with which they would market and sell items. They would consult experts in particular fields, like books and clothing, and contract sales to them as deemed wise. They would prepare descriptions and sell items on eBay - it was for the time and effort involved in such activities, I presumed, that they charged a 35% commission on all sales, in addition to the time charge for packing and moving. The sale would, she told me, last for 30 days, after which unsold items would be donated. Most of the sales, though, she advised, would occur during the first ten days. She told me all this after she had reviewed the contents of the estate, and knew what there was to sell. She made, of course, no specific promises, but she certainly tried to convey a sense of expertise with the market. There was no indication whatever of what actually happened, which is that she sold the furniture and donated literally everything else to Goodwill and Hope Services. Not a bit of it was sold. Of course I realize that no reliable predictions could have been made, but this is far, far removed from anything I was led to expect. For art objects, she reported that there was no interest in them online, so the earlier claim that they would sell well was either a lie or an expression of gross incompetence at Kuzak's profession, which is working on a sense of what will sell and what will not. Not doing as well as expected is one thing, but not selling at all, after assuring me they would sell well, is not in the same ballpark. For books, she told me informally that they usually "work with" a used bookseller in Los Altos. That, I foolishly presumed, would mean that the professionals at there would look over the books, decide which would sell best, and probably make an offer for the entire stock. Instead, Amanda wrote me that this happened: "We took the books (2 boxes) that we thought would sell to a book store in Menlo Park but they didn't want to pay for them. Apparently the used book market is really flooded right now." Note that instead of working with the store's expertise, they guessed themselves which books would sell, took them in as walk-in customers with a couple boxes instead of as estate liquidators, and when the store didn't take anything that day - which is typical with my experience with casual walk-ins at collectors' stores - they gave up without trying anything else. They didn't contact any other booksellers; they didn't try listing anything online. They donated the lot. I was verbally promised care, detailed consideration, and expertise, and received none, and I have written assurance of the maximization of sales value, which was manifestly not adhered to. read more

They are professional, effective and very quick. They left the house very clean and completely clear of anything. My real estate agent was so impressed that she requested their information for her future clients. read more

An awesome experience from start to finish - they cleaned out my home of 23 years in 3 days and were totally professional throughout. The cost estimate was totally accurate and the entire experience was a joy despite being emotional for me. I would hire them again immediately and recommend them wholeheartedly. Amanda and team made a tough chore easier and did exactly what they promised, on time and in budget. perfect and professional and well-done. read more

I am very satisfied with the work of Amanda and her team this past week. Today I returned to the property and it was just as promised - empty, clean and swept. On the day following the sale, I received an itemized list of items sold as well as donated with values of each. Amanda provided same day consultation and was quite thorough as she examined the home and belongings. She worked with our schedule and accommodated when needed. She is very knowledgeable, personable and professional. She responded to all of my questions in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Amanda her team. Well worth the help and peace of mind! read more

I am beyond happy with the results of Amanda and her team in liquidating my families home. They are efficient and pricing was reasonable. If you are looking for a liquidator who will sell your items, donate, and throw away everything else, look no further! Thank you so much! read more

Amanda really knows the value of various estate furniture and other household items. I interviewed 3 other estate liquidators and felt that Amanda and team really knew the value of the items in my parents' estate best. She was able to juggle her schedule to fit me in during the busy pre-Spring estate sale season leading up to the spring real estate listings. I feel like we definitely got the most money for the items in the estate using Kuzak's Closet. Very happy with their service and just amazed that they could clear out the estate and leave it broom swept in the time that we allotted. read more

We were moving from our home in Los Altos Hills and after a recommendation, selected Kuzak's Closet ri complete the process. The arrangement is that we remove everything we wish to move or keep from the property leaving the house in a shambles. Kuzak then comes in with a crew that auctions on our behalf credible items on their special auction site, donates non-auctionables, and disposes of the residual with a clean sweep of surfaces. Our experience was outstanding. Not only were we relieved of the frightful process of final disposal of unwanted items, but we covered the Kuzak's fee and received a sizable check from the auction proceeds. All contacts were friendly and professional. I cannot imagine how the process could have been better accomplished. read more

This feedback is mainly based on purchases I've tried to make thru Instagram. I used to love this hidden gem; it was great, reasonably prices, and easy to access. As many experienced during the pandemic, many businesses had to react to the virtual change. Kazaks closet, of course, decided to do it thru Instagram. Which is great. However, here is what I've experienced: - Lack of item description being advertised. - Delays on messaging, although it got better; I guess you also must make sure to re-confirm that you're purchasing an item. - Items being advertised are sold as soon as they hit the Instagram page. - You must go thru each item, even items sold many months ago (not a Kuzack problem, more like Instagram- I think?). Anyway, I hate to say goodbye, but it seems the cute little hidden gem has gotten big --kudos for that. However, I think there will be changes that will need to happen to sustain the growth and the way business is being performed. Good luck! read more

It all went well - every aspect of the process went well. I heard about Kuzak's Closet from several friends so decided to reach out to Amanda to learn about her business. Everything Amanda promised was delivered - I have no idea how Amanda and her knowledgeable, hard working team gets everything done but they do- all in time for an epic sale and wonderful result. Do yourself a favor, if you are clearing out an estate or just moving or need to downsize - call Amanda early in the process and she will do her magic. I have nothing but amazing WOW!!! for how wonderful Kuzak's Closet helped my family during such an overwhelming time in our life. They helped us with family treasures that were in our family home of 55 years. They were able to help us find homes for items either by liquidating or donating. They were able to help us get hazardous materials properly disposed. The house was swept clean. Inside and out. It made it easier for us mentally. It's made it easier for our realtor to help us keep moving forward with the selling of the family home. Worth every penny. Thank you Amanda and team! You were a HUGE help! read more

My brother and I needed to clear out our Mother's house after 57 years. I called Amanda and she responded so quickly. I called on a Wednesday and she photographed, priced and had the online sale on Friday. She priced fairly and to sell. Anything that wasn't sold was donated and she gave us the itemized slip for a donation. The house was cleaned out and very clean - broom swept as Amanda would say. We could not be happier with the results - a million thank you's and if we could give 6 stars, we would. She is a professional with great attention to detail and precise accounting - THANK YOU read more

I am completely hooked with estate sale, second hand shopping now because of Kuzak's. The model of selling and buying on IG is super efficient and once I got the hang of it, super fun and easy! I've been able to upgrade some items in my current home with Kuzak's sales and have also almost finished furnishing a future rental property. I really appreciate the money I'm saving repurposing stuff and feel like I'm saving the environment too. Thank you, Amanda and her team for doing the hard job so we can enjoy the cool things! read more

I don't know how it is possible that I haven't written a review about Kuzak's Closet. I have been shopping with Amanda and her team for nearly 10 years. Their estate sales are 2nd to none. There are other reputable companies in the bay, but by far, Kuzak's is our favorite. Whether it is the quality of the estate or the prices they set. It is always fair for both the family and the buyers. As a buyer, I appreciate the attention and care Amanda gives her clients, too. You can see she and her team care about the items and memories each family keeps and shares. Years back, whether it was a traditional estate sale to a liquidation 'fire' sale, you never walked out empty-handed. The market has changed, and the pandemic temporarily shut down many estate companies. However, Amanda and her team found a way to overcome. Their online sales have become a staple and preferred sales method to their clients and buyers. Everything is ready when you get there to pick it up. We bought a house right before the pandemic, and much of the furnishings came out of Kuzak's estate sales. From lights to furniture to dressers to clocks to decorations and more. If you like shopping in someone else's closet, Kuzak's brings the best houses to the market. Thank you, Team Kuzak's!! read more

Absolutely Amazing! During a very difficult time for our family, Kuzaks Closet came in and did the work that we couldn't even know where to start! Thank you Amanda and your entire team for an awesome job and so much relief to our family!!! read more

Moving is never fun. Living in the same 4000sq foot historic Craftsman Home for 21 years, where all the furniture was custom made it became a HUGE chore to sell of these items and deliver my home broom swept and clean. I don't envy the work, and could not be happier with services and outcome. Amanda and her team have one of the toughest jobs, convincing us that even though we spent bazillions on this furniture, it's not worth that. You learn that people will pay what it is worth, they do a great job marketing your items and work with buyers to get the items out of your home. It's not fun to do it, and I would recommend her to do what is most important. Delivering your home clean and empty for the new buyers. read more

My parents have been accumulating things since 1976. As they grew older, more things came into the house and fewer things left. Every nook and cranny, shelf and closet was filled. It took me three weeks to just look through everything, let alone remove or dispose of anything. Kuzak's Closet came in and cleared the house in under a week. As promised it was broom clean when they finished. The final cost was less than the quote. The auction raised much more than the estimate. This service provided everything we needed. It was Professional, simple and a fully satisfactory experience. read more

Do not attempt to purchase anything through their preferred method of Instagram. Your messages will not get responses. I attempted 4 times over two months and did not receive any reply until I called them out in an Instagram post. I attempted to go to one of their sales. No instructions about the sign up were posted so many people who were new like me didn't know we had to get on a wait list. When I didn't see anything I needed and left the man at the door was very rude about me leaving without buying anything. I will not be using them or attending any of their sales again. * added. The owner reached out to me about my experience trying to purchase through their Ig. At first I was very happy with her explanations etc. then however she decided to inform me that my review was unwarranted. This is without her knowing the full scope of my experience. So given that I feel the 1 star should still stand. I had previously felt I should change it to reflect her reaching out with both an apology and explanation. read more

I could not recommend more highly. Excellent thoroughness, professionalism, attention to detail. Well beyond expectations. I would recommend Kuzak's Closet without hesitation. My three siblings and I are in the somewhat painful process of selling the family home in Los Altos, after our father passed. One of us was born there, three others moved there as kids, way back in the 50s. It's been the family home ever since. We tried our best to empty the house of important memories, but honestly, it's really hard to do. We're talking furniture, books, a typical mix of old stuff, very hard for an outsider to figure out what's just old and what's a memory. Amanda and her crew were quick, efficient, extremely sensitive to some of the emotional baggage, a pleasure to deal with, start to finish. Like I said above, I couldn't recommend more highly. read more

I met with several estate sales people before deciding on Amanda with her Kuzak's Closet. I was impressed by both her professional and casual demeanor. I thought her style would match well with what was available in the estate. I was also interested in her business model. Amanda communicates clearly and concisely and did not over promise on potential sales. At the end of the day, I was very impressed by both what she sold and the prices she got for items. To put it simply, I had no idea of the value of some things in the estate and would have made far less if I had done it on my own. Her team left the house as promised, and I was very satisfied with the entire process and transaction. read more

I don't think I have ever hired any one, for any purpose, who has impressed me more or done a better job than Amanda and her team. They are simply amazing. The way they organized everything in my parents' house, made it all look great for the sale, organized a perfectly-run sale which sold an amazing amount of it, and communicated well all along the way -- it sets a new standard for me in people I would hire. I would recommend her to anyone. Our whole family was thrilled with her and her team. Do I sound over the top about this? That is how I feel. read more

We highly recommend Amanda and her team! They do an amazing job of handling estate sales, and work respectfully, fast, and smart. Their process is almost like magic. We were extremely impressed by how well Amanda knows estate sale markets. Some items we thought had little value brought higher prices than expected; and some items we thought were valuable turned out not to be appealing to today's buyers. Amanda knows what will sell and at what price, all of which helped cover her liquidation fees. She is also the definition of efficiency. We communicated by a few quick emails, and when our sale date came the entire job was done in 2 days with the home was left broom clean for our realtor's contractors as promised. It would have taken our family weeks - if not months - to handle the same type of work, and we are eternally grateful to the whole team. Finally, she is kind during the emotional process of releasing family belongings. Overall an outstanding experience, and we would not hesitate to work with Kuzak's Closet again. read more

The wait list system is totally the wrong approach. You will have better luck at garage sales, flea markets, and even storage locker auctions. Don't waste you time on prior shopper "rejects" as a set few " privileged shoppers" get the good stuff. You will have better luck getting what you want ANY WHERE else but here... The owner's comments below basically prove what I have been saying unless you want to spend sleepless evenings in your car to sign up for "entrance" in to a house at 1 a.m. and wait 8 hours to get in (just like a black Friday event)... your time is better spent sleeping at home... arriving at a "normal" Garage sale RIGHT before it starts and having a CHANCE to get the same quality items as the "2 AMer's" at a Kuzak auction... read more

Amanda and her team are absolutely amazing! They are responsive, detail oriented, organized and consummate professionals. They did an estate sale for my mother's house and not only simplified the incredibly daunting process of moving out/liquidating a home but exceeded our expectations when it came marketing and selling items. The team photographed, displayed, grouped and described items for sale through their app with such expertise, knowledge and professionalism that they quickly sold. Amanda has a HUGE following and within minutes of the sale's commencement items quickly got snatched up by her loyal followers. The Kuzak's Closet app is outstanding, simple to use to both watch your estate sale in process and/or to browse and purchase items for sale. I can't thank Amanda and her team enough for their work. I cant say enough good things about Amanda and her great staff. They treat you very fairly, and have a great attitude. I'm a seasoned estate sale shopper, and I shop at Amanda's sales all the time. She is truly among the best of the cadre of estate sale providers in the SF bay area. She is one of the most professional, modeling a Superwoman work ethic, honesty, and first and foremost a concern to help her clients have a lucrative and painless experience. The care she has for the shoppers is palpable as well. She is generally very level headed and personable to all her shoppers, even when in the pressured sales environment, juggling answering to her clients and keeping a veritable army of happy, friendly, (albeit frenzied at times) shoppers *remaining* happy as well. Her helpful, experienced team helps keep everything running like a well oiled machine too. Her pricing is fair both for her dealer shoppers and for obtaining value in terms of expedient clean outs and accurate, market value appraisals on household items and collectibles for the clients. Amanda is a straight shooter, immensely popular with her ever increasing fanbase! Her promotional, internet and organizational skills are off the charts, and she uses Instagram to help get best values for her clients, and to do fun customer outreach, as with her blogs. If I only had half that energy and managerial / organizing skill! In response to shoppers who don't like waiting in line: The reality is that one has to do what it takes (ie wait in the area until the sale opens after signing the list, unless you need to hit up the local Starbucks or restroom). Estate sale shopping is very competitive in urban areas and some dealers suffer the hardship of very early arrivals for their business. Most of the customers, professionals or collectors, enjoy socializing and showing off their purchases, so its really pretty fun for most of the attendees. Check it out for yourself, but arrive early, because these are popular events! read more

I love Kuzak's Closet's estate sales! There are always good finds for cheap! As I mentioned before, I'm a bit of an estate sale junkie. Unlike a lot of the other estate sale companies in the South Bay, Kuzak's Closet only does them sporadically, which is a bummer for me. I'm guessing this is because the estate liquidation is secondary to the organizing business? Anyway, I always find good stuff at her estate sales -- hello, $4 set of super cute cocktail glasses! The prices are negotiable (always a plus). read more

Amanda and her team are excellence personified. I have used Kuzack's Closets services 4 times over the past 10 years. She and her staff are timely, considerate and very pleasant to work with. They haul away all the garbage and donations so the task was complete at end of the day! read more

My review is as a shopper at Kuzak's Closet liquidations and estate sales. The shopping experience at Kuzak sales is second to none. If being one of the first shoppers into the home is important to you, you need to get there early (when it's dark) and stay in the area. I'm not a reseller or collector, so you won't see me sleeping in my car before a sale. The fun starts when people start to gather and the early birds emerge from their cars. Since there are so many 'regulars', we catch up, learn what others are looking for, and often shop for each other once we're in the house. I've met many new friends in the morning hours before a Kuzak liquidation or estate sale. As a shopper, you also are very aware of the care and compassion that Amanda and her team have for her clients - both the families and estate contents, and for the respect that Amanda has for her staff. They are a delightful team, super helpful to shoppers, and all clearly enjoy the work they do. I enjoy a morning spent shopping with Amanda and her awesome team! read more

We were in a rush to get my parents' home on the market, and got a recommendation for Amanda. She came over the same day I contacted her, after replying right away, and was able to get the sale scheduled for a couple weeks out, which was great. She and her crew busted their butts getting everything organized and ready, and they also took care of the leftovers - recycled, trashed, or donated, depending on what it was - after the sale (and after letting us take one last look to see if there was anything we wanted to keep), PLUS left the house nice and clean. The charge for her company's services is very reasonable, and the turnout was huge, especially on Saturday. So, why only four stars? Well, they don't fire-sale stuff, they inferno-sale it. I knew we weren't going to get anywhere near top dollar from this type of sale, but was pretty stunned when I saw the final number... basically, take what you think your goods are worth (not what they cost new) and multiply by 10%. Relative to what the house was worth, this was rounding error, and with time of the essence, it was quick and pain-free. While sales aren't itemized, which was a disappointment, all other paperwork is very comprehensive. Lastly, Amanda and crew have great attitudes, and are easy to work with. I would use Kuzak's Closet again, and would recommend them to anyone who has a need for their services. read more
