This review is based on my experience visiting Family Treasures estate sales. As a rule I attend…read moremaybe two or three a month. FTEL is usually on my list of sales to attend. This is in part because I am guaranteed a smooth event. This past Friday I attended one of their sales. This one was different only because the contents were mostly anime, manga, gaming, and merch. Not my thing and I wasn't sure about the crowd. Well I was pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival the line was down the street. So many young people looking to take advantage of this huge sale. Close to five hundred pictures were included in FTEL's email. A specific number of buyers were let in at a time, each room had someone placed there for oversight and help. This included outside in the yard as well. If a price could not be located on an item, an employee quickly helped. Two cashiers were present and that line was not long in moving. The owner was one of the cashiers. I point this out because in talking with her, she apologized to me for starting the sale late. Me. Talking some more, come to find out her father had a medical emergency the previous night and was hospitalized. But here she is, only hours later working this sale. Her entire crew pulled together and helped get the job done. Well I say, well done! We, who go to these things, show up, rummage through a persons entire lifetime, try and procure the best price and then go home and the item begins anew in our life. Easy. Fun actually. So thank you FTEL for every big and little effort you make on behalf of us. Your service is much appreciated. By me and I'm sure many others.

This was my first time purchasing from Kuzak's, and I had a great experience!…read more The app made it really easy to preview the items and shop. I also had a few questions about one of the pieces, and their communication was excellent and even received a text back within minutes. When it was time to pick up my purchases, everything was ready at the designated time and already packed up for me. I also appreciated the multiple payment options. Amanda and Chris are a wonderful husband-and-wife team who run a tight ship. Their kindness really stood out when the bed I purchased didn't fit in my SUV, they went out of their way to deliver the remaining piece to my nearby home, even though delivery isn't normally offered. Thanks Amanda & Chris, you've restored my faith in humanity!

That's when Pete turned a problem into an opportunity, a gift of his. Not only could he deal with my time-line. He found a way to incorporate about 90% of the things I wanted to sell into another sale he already had scheduled. He consulted a series of specialists for artwork, decorative arts, furniture, formal tableware and entertaining pieces to estimate value and carefully moved everything, and that means a lot, to the location of his upcoming sale. His promotion brought in both lookers and dealers and after three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), he and his team sold almost everything. The few things that didn't sell were donated to appropriate organizations. His energy and innovative thinking deserve every one of the 5 stars I gave him.

My family and I highly recommend Alameda Estate Sales after working with them to empty a family…read morehome in Alameda last month. It's great to support a small local business, and Pete and his team are friendly and great communicators during the process. Pete is very thorough and spent hours organizing and sorting 60 year's worth of items and researching their value. In addition to the actual sale days, they also list items online to pre-sell, contact local buyers, sell on ebay, and keep items on consignment to sell later- basically doing everything they can to sell for you. They do a great job after the sale as well, donating as much as they can so as little as possible gets thrown out. Pete will also haul away when needed, and handle any curbside pickups. Lastly, we really appreciate how part of their business model is a willingness to take on smaller jobs (they do this by sometimes combining sales into one location), allowing them to service different types of needs, including many clients the larger estate sale companies might refuse.

I consigned a pair of jade earrings to Michaan's for sale along with other items, and made it clear…read morethat for the earrings I wanted an auction reserve of $250; this reserve was duly recorded on the paperwork that was filled out for the items. Jill Fenichell, with whom I was working, noted that Marie Elise Coronado, the in-house jewelry appraiser, would have to agree to this reserve for it to go forward; but certainly did not note that there would be any repercussions beyond the consignment not going forward should Ms. Coronado not agree. Ms. Coronado later contacted me and said she couldn't grant my request, and the reserve would be $200. Okay, the contract states that reserves depend on agreement by the parties, so fine, I just asked when I could come by to pick up the earrings. At this point she took the arrogant stance that if I wanted the earrings back I would have to pay the fee for when consignors reverse the decision to consign items to Michaan's, and further claimed that only under restricted circumstances may consignors specify reserves for their items -- which is absolutely NOT what is specified by the language in the contract for reserves. I appealed to Ms. Fenichell for help, noting that good-faith dealing required that what had been established between Ms. Fenichell and myself must be honored, and received no help. In the end, I asserted control of the situation by invoking another clause of the contract that specifies that the day and place an item is sold must be by mutual agreement of the consignor and Michaan's, and stated that I would not consent to any particular circumstances of sale until this matter was resolved. At that point, Ms. Coronado agreed to my requested reserve. With a company that had the intention of dealing in good faith with its consignors, none of this nonsense could have occurred. Michaan's proceeded to violate its own contract by selling all of my remaining items at days and places of Michaan's own choosing, without obtaining, or even requesting, my agreement. In particular, my set of sterling silver was sold separately from its case, against my wishes.

I attended an estate liquidation that was done by Bay Area Estate Liquidators and I was impressed!…read moreThey had a huge variety of items for sale in the home that were worth buying. Sometimes when you attend an estate sale there's not much you want to take home with you, but at this sale I wanted everything! They had a great selection of furniture, fine China, crystals, and a lot of vintage pieces from the 1930s-1960s. What I was most impressed by was their customer service. They had at least one employee working each room of the house that were available to answer any questions customers had. The checkout process was smooth and easy. They even offered the option to pay by PayPal which is a major plus if you're not carrying enough cash. If you need to sell everything in your home and don't want to go through the hassle yourself I highly recommend contacting this company! They will sell everything for you and even offer an abatement service for the items left over that you need to get rid of. They also offer to clean the entire house out so that it's ready to list for sale. Trust me you will be very satisfied with their service!

They cared about the items in the home as if they were there own. They provided a comprehensive service, were professional, detailed, with excellent communication.
