This is in part because I am guaranteed a smooth event. This past Friday I attended one of their sales. This one was different only because the contents were mostly anime, manga, gaming, and merch. Not my thing and I wasn't sure about the crowd. Well I was pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival the line was down the street. So many young people looking to take advantage of this huge sale. Close to five hundred pictures were included in FTEL's email. A specific number of buyers were let in at a time, each room had someone placed there for oversight and help. This included outside in the yard as well. If a price could not be located on an item, an employee quickly helped. Two cashiers were present and that line was not long in moving. The owner was one of the cashiers. I point this out because in talking with her, she apologized to me for starting the sale late. Me. Talking some more, come to find out her father had a medical emergency the previous night and was hospitalized. But here she is, only hours later working this sale. Her entire crew pulled together and helped get the job done. Well I say, well done! We, who go to these things, show up, rummage through a persons entire lifetime, try and procure the best price and then go home and the item begins anew in our life. Easy. Fun actually. Though I reached out to try and come to a resolution, the auction house refused to help or accommodate at all, leaving me no reasonable way to actually get my items. Updating my review after finally getting notice my items have been shipped: What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into a 3-week ordeal just to get my purchases shipped. Despite the auction house insisting that my items would require multiple large boxes (and implying extremely high shipping costs), an independent shipper was ultimately able to pack everything into a single 20" box. This directly contradicts the information I was given and raises serious concerns about the accuracy, or intent, of their "recommended shippers" and guidance. Additionally, the lack of support throughout the process was unacceptable. When I reached out for help navigating shipping, I was met with refusal, dismissal, and eventually blocked from communication altogether. I am a frequent auction buyer and have never had such an issue before. Being blocked instead of assisted when trying to resolve a legitimate issue reflects extremely poor customer service, not a difficult customer. I was aware of the timeline for shipping and contacted all of the recommended shippers in advance to get quotes, but did not get responses until after the auction. What I was not aware of was that your recommended shipping process would involve quotes that were wildly inflated and inconsistent with reality. My clothing business processes hundreds of packages per week, so I'm extremely familiar with what things should cost to ship. This was not a matter of "circumstances within my control", it was a matter of inaccurate information, lack of transparency, and refusal to help once the sale was complete. Bidders beware, and sellers should take their business elsewhere.

They were working so hard that I insisted they take a break as watching them made my back hurt; I was feeling sympathy pain. Margie also helped guide the furniture movers of what to pack and where to move it in the new residence. This gave me time to give my dogs a good walk and an errand. The movers they hired were excellent as well. They carefully covered all of my hardwood floors with protective floor material so that the floors were not damaged. They also found a loose arm on one of the captain's dining chair and tightened it for me. What service! I *highly* recommend that you hire Managing Moves for your moving needs. It truly saves a lot of time and most of all, saved my back and relieved any possible exertion on my compromised lungs. They were all very professional, hard-working, kind-hearted, thoughtful and generous of their time. They require the homeowner to give them a $4,000 deposit and then they take over listing and selling items online. (Our property had already been cleaned, organized, and sorted.) They stated that they would then need to use the house to photograph and list items for about 5 weeks or longer. They stated that they keep track of the time it takes them to do the work in man hours and we may even owe them more than the deposit after the sale is finished if the $4,000 did not cover their expenses. We were expecting a traditional two day in person sale but this company no longer does that in order to maximize profits. This may be a strategy that works for some, but not for us.
