After some interactions through text, a picture of what I wanted, and instructions that I wanted a 1" trim from the bottom length and a relayer, I scheduled my appointment a few days later. This spot is VERY Chinese. Lots of banter in the language but I liked the energy it gave. A little bit of a language barrier but I tried to keep it short and brief, and we "communicated" through photos of what I wanted, and what he could do. Almost all the chairs were full. I brought my son with me and everyone was nice to him (-: He was able to sit on a chair and wait for me while I had my hair done. Ming gave me exactly what I wanted. Basically a refresh. They were able to shampoo and rinse my hair, I was put in the chair, Ming and I had an exchange, and he went to work with precision and expertise. QUICKLY may I add.. I found my local salon. I have had layered haircuts at other salons before, so I know what a layered haircut should look like. I kept explaining what I wanted, but the stylist kept telling me that he was giving me layers when the result clearly did not look like the layered style I showed him. It felt more like a bang trim with my hair cut shorter. I was also very uncomfortable because the stylist had a very strong cigarette/smoke smell on his breath during the service, which made the experience unpleasant. If the stylist couldn't achieve the style I requested, I would have preferred him to be honest and explain that before cutting my hair shorter. As a first-time customer, I left feeling very upset and disappointed.

This wasn't just a bad haircut--it wiped out 16 months of effort I put into growing my hair. You claimed that based on your 20 years of experience, you couldn't cover extension costs because they're a personal expense. But do you really think I wanted to deal with high-maintenance, expensive extensions and live with them for at least the next two years? You caused me so much distress, yet you're only focused on the expenses you don't want to pay right now. That shows a complete lack of professional ethics. If you had taken true responsibility and made a serious effort to make things right, I wouldn't be this angry. To be clear, this isn't just a standard complaint about bad service for a paid haircut. You forced an absolute nightmare of a result onto me, and I hope you don't walk away thinking a simple refund settles it.

For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. When I checked in, they told me to come 40 minutes later as there were 3 people ahead of me. Made sense and I realized I should have called beforehand! I went for a quick workout and they were ready to take me at 2pm. The ladies were very nice and the person who cut my hair happened to speak cantonese so she gave me good tips on haircare and told me that my hair is so wavy that it won't stay straight despite her straightening several times. I told her what I wanted and she followed it to a tee and my haircut is so well done! For straightening hair and doing layers, it's $35 + tip. I think I found my new place to get my haircuts.

Her transparency made the booking process really simple and I was so comfortable. I received a cal invite and text message that my appointment was coming up. While small, this still left a great impression Stylist Lulu was absolutely amazing and wonderful. I had ALOT of trauma with my hair. I expressed this to Lulu during my booking and she was extremely kind--especially with my almost cold feet. As she worked on my hair she walked me through each and every step.
