At first, I didn't know why they were ordering whole pizzas for themselves (thinking that maybe oh, maybe it's just a solo serving, but they WEREN'T) and when the pizzas came and I started eating, I only realized then that AH, this is why they all ordered whole pizzas for themselves. It's that good, you can finish one by yourself! I was terribly sad that the branch had closed down all those years ago, but I discovered another branch that was close to home! (My parent's house, anyway!) Although, what I don't understand is, why is there only one remaining branch in Manila? Seriously! When I was in Ateneo, the branch in Katipunan was full everytime. And their pizza is Delicious. With a capital D. It's a thin crust pizza, and they do have the normal pepperonis and hawaiian. But the real clincher for me is their Pizza Cebuana (thank you my Cebuano friends for telling me about this). It's one of their best sellers, and has Cebu-style chorizo (which sort of tastes like a tocino? ONLY BETTER) and kesong puti. It's so good, you'd have to get your own order of a whole pizza to satisfy you.

The place has a very unassuming façade which looks more like a garage than a restaurant. But once you're inside, you will be surprised to find that the place is huge and is full of collectible vintage items. It really is amazing, from the vinyl records to the old plate numbers to the old movie posters, there's just so much to see in there. But it isn't just a place to visit for the décor. They have amazing food as well. So I'm just going to get this out there: Their nachos are the bomb! I've had nachos in big fancy restaurants, but they don't even compare to what Fat Frank's has to offer. It has meat. It has cheese. It has sour cream. It has salsa. It has jalapenos. It has all the good things you want in a huge order of nachos. If you're looking for a great date place where you can save money (but really don't want to look cheap), this is it. Just fill up on the nachos and their creamy, lovely milkshakes and you're pretty much set. An order of entrée is just icing on the cake...trust me, by the time you get to the main dish, you're already full. I highly recommend Fat Frank's to anyone into the American Diner feel and taste.

Breakfast/Brunch is served between 6:00a to 10:00a and is complimentary if you're staying in the hotel. The line can get long at times depending on how many guests that particular day. Breakfast can have a variety of many choices between American and Filipino food. They have an omelette/egg station and also serve bacon, sausage, waffles and pancakes, donuts and cereal and could also have dilis mixed in with the others. The middle section are dishes ranging from pansit, roasted chicken, beef stew, baked bangus on any given day... yes, beginning at 6:00a you could be eating lunch LoL! They also have Filipino desserts. We also used the Cafe to entertain our family guests who came to visit us during dinner. For this we had different menus and we paid like we would do in a regular restaurant. The ambiance is always busy. The staff here are very friendly and polite. You will always hear a "Good Morning, sir or ma'am, as they greet you. We would see flight attendants of Cebu Pacific stay and dine here sometimes also. Review #3286

Since I cannot watch movies without a siopao or two to munch on, I'm glad there's a Kowloon House near where I used to live. It's in a strip mall fronting Brazil street, which makes it not too far from SM Bicutan. Whether asado or bola-bola, Kowloon has been able to maintain its terrific taste over the decades. This place is open until late into the evening, so whenever the urge hits, I can be sure that I can get my favourite jumbo siopao practically anytime. Kowloon claims to have the "world's best dimsum" and it's not an idle boast. How else could it have survived for the longest time? However, the outlet along Dona Soledad Avenue says it's open 24 hours a day, but there have been several occasions when I passed by and it was closed for business. The place is more kiosk than restaurant, by the way. There are only a handful of tables and chairs, but that's ok. Most customers order take out anyway. There's been only one out of so many times when I wasn't totally satisfied with my Kowloon siopao. The taste seemed funny, close to spoiling. I chalk up that one bad experience to their possibly recycling unsold siopao. Or maybe it was just one bad batch out of thousands sold every month. I've been crazy for Kowloon House siopao ever since I was a kid. I still am. Five stars for the world's best dimsum!

I returned with my 2 co-workers and they did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful, they serve complimentary candied walnuts, and hot tea. We ordered a variety of items...adding a few that we did not try the year before. Appetizers were shrimp toast and salmon. Mains were beef and broccoli, half roast duck, bok choy, shrimp and chicken fried rice, and we had a few cocktails. The food was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever visiting Manila, Philippines! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they stop reserving lumpia after lunch, and I believe we were dealing with an inexperienced waiter. The service wasn't perfect like it was in the past, he told us we could not have unlimited nuts - we had the manager correct that, and he wouldn't allow us to modify our cocktails - again, someone else corrects that as well. Overall, great experience!

You feel comfortable asking questions and they put you right at ease. We started with the Deep-fried shrimp toast with sweet and sour sauce and the Crab Roe Tofu Soup which were a delicious way to start our dinner. We were going to have the steamed grouper which we had last time but they had a limited selection in size since it was later in the evening. Since we were getting full and our flight was very early the next morning, we decided to go light on our main course. We enjoyed the very tasty Seafood Asado Pork Fried Rice, Urban farm purple bok choy with dried shrimp in garlic, and Stir-fried scallop, shrimp and cuttlefish with vegetables which had a slight spicy kick and beautifully presented in this crispy potato nest. The house tea they served stays warm with the tealight and it's a perfect complement to our delectable dinner. We were delightfully stuffed :) Another great experience at Man Ho Manila. We look forward to our next visit when we are in the area!
