Fried French Beans with Salted Egg Batter
    Aine F.

Came in on a weekday evening. Happy that it was a quiet at that time. Ordered: - Wok Fried French beans, with Salted egg Batter - wow! This dish is savory and enjoyable. Only one complaint, it was greasy. But it's expected since it's fried. - Chilled Mango cream and pomelo bits on top, with small sagos at the bottom - this is creamy and rich. Paired with the complimentary house tea, it is perfect! Service was good, attentive & responsive. Very clean and comfortable ambience. Located inside Marriott's west wing. Fancy and quiet.

Fancy and quiet restaurant inside the Marriott Hotel. Great customer service. We were there for tasting light Chinese meal courses cause we were still stuffed from a large breakfast buffet. However, since the week's theme is in celebration of the Chinese New Year, we couldn't leave Manila without tasting a decent Chinese cuisine. The waitress kept directing us to the fish entree, but sadly we had to pass. We had great food choices. The soy chicken was exquisite , soft and juicy. Because I had a Marriott membership, I was happy when they informed me I had a 10% discount. Use Marriott's parking spaces to get your parking space validated, not the street parking.

It is located on the UG Upper Ground Floor of the Nuwa casino hotel. The GM for the hotel was standing in front of the restaurant to greet us! I did not realize I was that SPECIAL. The table setting was simply gorgeous. It was very simply stated yet simply luxurious, with it's gold rimmed tea pot and the gold plated chopstick holder. My companion Kim was simply swept off her feet by this display of simple luxury. I ordered way too much items because I was so excited to be in this magnificent dining room. I ordered 2 Foie Gras dishes and a truffle stuffed chicken dish, a fish maw soup, a walnut chicken dish, an abalone shiumai. We could only manage to consume 1/2 of what I ordered plus they gave us an complimentary gold flaked lobster dumpling and a bird cage full of little chocolate bird deserts. You would think that I really must have won the casino with my gregarious gambling!

We had an excellent dining experience. The staff was great and the food superb! I don't even know where to start. From the moment we walked into the restaurant as we were escorted into our private dining room every one was very warm and friendly. As they served every course they explained what we were having. We were stuffed. Everything we ordered was a treat to our palates..

I haven't seen it elsewhere) and it is right in front of Duty Free Shopping Mall in Parañaque. It is as you would expect any Chinese restaurant that's been there for quite a while: a little run down, smelling of bleach, the toilet (which is right next to the counter/kitchen, hmm) smells strongly of urinal cake... But somehow, families find themselves flocking to Luk Foo every time there's a big occasion... Or rather, anytime they want to eat Chinese food that's not just dumplings. Luk Foo has some of the best and affordae Chinese cuisine I've ever had. They're particularly known for the fresh sea food they have swimming in the tanks outside the restaurant. Our family always orders the steamed grouper (Lapu-Lapu), prawn with garlic sotanghon and salt and pepper crab. You won't regret ordering a full seafood menu, they're all fresh from the tanks! And if you're at a loss with what to order, you can always ask the waitresses or the manager, because they give pretty damn good recommendations. This is a good place to celebrate any occasion-- just as long as you're not bothered with how gritty it is.

The food itself has a nice variety from offering dimsum to Peking duck and braised pork. Although the food was enjoyable, we noticed there was a cockroach crawling on our table in the middle of the meal. If it didn't have that, I would've rated this 5 stars. Maybe would recommend this on a less busy day when the staff has more time to clean up? P.S. the food really is good, which is why it's not a 1 star from the cockroach. If this was the US, it would be one of those restaurants with a low food safety grade/score but still open because the food is just that good.

What we had included the following, suckling pig combination (3 ways) (so so), spinach with seafood soup (taste was delicate, yet lacking), barbecued Peking duck (sadly they duck skin was not served at the same time as the rolls, leaving much taste to be sought after), sauteed prawns in satay sauce, oil simmered lapu lapu (fish was fresh, and sauce was good), seasonal vegetables with abalone mushroom (they should have explained that there was no abalone as usual version of the dish would have both abalone and mushrooms), fried crab with spring onion (good), fried misua, chilled mango sago (typical). Ambience: Excellent, grandiose and elegant Taste: Good, though not on the level expected for their price Presentation: Great, food is presented well Value: Average, having grown up with Chinese cuisine, I feel cheated at this price point Service: Great, servers dish out good recommendations and are attentive Overall: Good

For one reason, the Chinese food was great and service was awesome as well. I mean this place was always packed with people during peak hours, I really don't know what happened why most of their branches have already closed down. We love their Cropek with Red vinegar snack while waiting for our tables. We would order the usual Chinese favorites like Yang Chow fried rice, Sweet and Sour pork, Lemon Chicken and many more. I do hope that this gem can resurrect its business once again.
