Wow!!! Where do I even start? Chef Ed first did my proposal dinner back in 2018 and he completely blew our minds away. He did not just provided exceptional service along with his assistant Jacob, but he also helped me plan the ring surprise for my fiancé. Now, three years later in 2021 he just did my father in law's 70th birthday and the courses he planned exceeded expectations once again. We hired Chef Ed Kuoha for a private catering event in Kapolei on 12/30. The menu included assorted sushi/nigiri (Ed brought along a sushi chef who took special requests), Maui french onion soup, salmon, Rib-eye steak, awesome side dishes and a delicious dessert (fondue - the kids loved it). He brings it all - including way nicer dishes vs what the condo had as well as serving pieces. If you're looking to do a special event/in home catering - Kuoha Culinary should be checked out. I attend a business meeting and it was cater through KUOHA CULINARY. They set up tables and it was buffet style. I love salmon and they had some sort of baked salmon, asparagus another favorite of mine the sauce had a very special taste, there was I think teriyaki chicken and ahi there was more I wasn't able to get photos because by the time it was my turn I didn't want to hold up line . Bartending was also very friendly and professional Mixed: Chef Ed was responsive and detailed in the quoting process (much more than the other caterers) but there was a small price increase just before the wedding. Not ideal after discussing for several months but it might have been due to miscommunication between us and wedding planner. There was also a small timing hiccup for the service during the plated wedding dinner and Chef Ed response was that nobody was communicating with him. Where to even begin. Chef Ed and his amazing team were a powerhouse on our wedding day. Our special day was a destination wedding in Hawaii planned from Colorado..sight unseen. We were putting a lot of blind faith into our vendors and venues for our wedding day. Chef Ed knocked it out of the park. We had a few guests (including myself) that had some dietary restrictions (Vegan, DF, GF, etc) and Chef Ed was very accommodating. Chef Ed and his staff were incredible! My son's wedding had guests from the west coast, east coast and a bunch of locals. Chef Ed came to our vacation beach house in Hauula Hawaii to cater our 25th anniversary dinner party. It Was Amazing! He and chef John prepared Mai Tai's that were out of this world. He told us that drinks are not his specialty but he could have fooled us- best Mai Tai ever with mint- soooo tasty. Tender pork appetizer, beautiful salad with poi dressing, catch of the day fish (which was my favorite) and he had made us a very special cheesecake for our anniversary with yuzu fresh whipped cream. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and wedding ceremony (10 years late) at a beautiful beach home in the North Shore. We had about 30 friends and family join us for our special event and we thought they wouldn't be too happy if we didn't feed them great food :) We found Chef Ed on Yelp, kind of last minute, and after reading all of the reviews we felt comfortable enough to contact him. My wife emailed and he replied very quickly. During the entire planning process, he was very helpful with recommendations, always replied quickly and with such a great attitude that we were very comfortable that we made the right decision. He also arranged for outdoor tables and chairs (which were delivered the day of the event), utensils, etc, as well as putting us in touch with a DJ (DJ Roman, also awesome). He showed up to our beach rental on time and started making recommendations for table placement, DJ location, food line, etc. Basically we didn't have to do much at all. As far as the food? We read a lot of great reviews on his food. Let's just say it was delicious...everyone kept saying how great the food was, and they ate a lot so that's always a good sign (especially loved the slow cooked baby back ribs and corn with truffle miso butter). There was enough food that we were still eating it a couple days later. Chef Ed and Chef Daniel were so cool...very nice to us and our guests, very easy going and never made us feel bad for being so last minute and making so many changes to the menu. Chef Ed was also kind enough to give a Hawaiian toast to us, which everyone really enjoyed. It really felt like he was a friend that just happened to be a great cook and party organizer.
