Parking can be challenging at times, give yourself ample time. My sister made reservations for her birthday dinner. When we got there the restaurant was not busy yet. We were fully informed in the process as soon as we arrived. They were also kind enough to place the cake in the fridge. Food was fresh and arrived without delay. As our dinner went on the restaurant filled up with the dinner crowd. The food, why people come right? I think I only order the omakase here. Never misses. We also ordered the soft shell crab, tempura appetizer and my family ordered rolls. The tempura was nice and crunchy. Did i mention the staff was awesome? Thank you Amami.

The combo comes with a bowl of miso soup and a house salad. The house salad was so fresh! I love that they give you plenty of salad dressing. The sashimi combo comes with 10 slices of chef's choice sashimi and some rice. I also love that there were four different types of fish. Parking can be a challenge but if you drive around, you should be able to find a spot. There's also a parking lot up the block so if you can't find a space outside, you can try the parking lot. The staff were friendly and attentive. They came by to refill our tea and cleared away our empty dishes so we had more room, since our table was small. Will definitely come back when I'm craving Japanese food, especially since I live close by.

I want to start with "wow."…read more Wow #1: Perfectly fried katsu. Not greesy, not soggy, not tough. Just crispy, tender, juicy goodness. Wow #2: Portions. We got the King Katsu Combo that came with chicken katsu, fish katsu, and a hamburger steak. And it was HUGE, complete with sides of macaroni salad, cabbage salad, and rice. Also a boat full of sauce. Definitely big enough to split, if you're not super hungry. Wow #3: The price. In a world of ever increasing prices, it's nice to leave not feeling ripped off. The combo was $26, which we were about to split, as I mentioned. By Bay Area standards, that's a bargain, particularly considering it didn't feel like a compromise. The food was delicious, and the dining area is a decent place to enjoy a meal, as well. It's not a strictly carryout place, like some reasonably priced places are. In fact, the service was good; my water was even refilled at regular intervals. I know it's a small thing, but what's not to love? Just remember to leave a good tip! Definitely, I recommend King Katsu Land. And, just for fun, you get to play the fun game of finding the place. Good luck! It's well hidden.

When you walk in, there are plenty of seats for dining, plus little bar seating if you don't want to sit at a full table or you're dining alone. It was good vibes and a nice comfortable neighborhood spot for families friends, or date night. Since our order wasn't ready, the waitress offered us hot tea and a seat at the bar while we waited. All of their sashimi at the bar looked fresh and areas were clean and organized. For the platter, we ordered the I.Special Hot Roll Tray. Sushi rice was all well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Flavors were all great, and all rolls were a little bit different that offered variety. Things I usually get weary about for new Sushi spots, is fishyness or deep fried/cooked rolls coming out super dry and hard. All of the rolls were great and exceeded my expectations including the price point considering the type and # of rolls we got. Friendly staff and worth a visit!

My son took me here for Mother's Day lunch today, and we were absolutely blown away. The salad was crisp with a delicious dressing, and the miso soup was seasoned perfectly. Our waitress was phenomenal, and the chefs were friendly, professional, and clearly take pride in their craft. We've driven by twice to find the restaurant closed, and calling didn't help either. Everything we tried was delicious, and the menu is huge. You get the best of both worlds with hot pot and sushi, plus a full bar and drinks to choose from. The wagyu sushi is insanely good -- literally melts in your mouth (sadly limited to two). For $22 during happy hour, you absolutely get more than your money's worth. Once the hours are more reliable, this would be an easy repeat spot.
