Welcome Kunin to the Presidio Neighborhood.

Congratulations to Kunin on this new space. Comfy and cozy, with a fun parklet space, outdoor patio, and cool indoor tasting bar area. Still the delicious Rhone Varietals, with both classic Red and White tastings. All time favorites being the Phoebe Rose and Pape Stars. Although the Special K Blend Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Grenache will never disappoint. Thanks to Connor who is very welcoming and knows all about these very special Kunin wines. Definitely need to put this new location on your Urban Wine Trail list.

Met up with a few friends here recently and it was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and socialize! Such comfy seating inside and beautiful decor. We were able to easily find a place to sit on a Tuesday afternoon and the service was really prompt. Our order was taken quickly and the staff checked on us a few times to be sure we didn't need anything. They have a great selection of wines. Others in my party enjoyed a rosé option and a red. I thought the Pape Star white wine was super tasty! Definitely a fan of this spot.

This is my favorite tasting room in town. There are a lot of cookie cutter wineries and it's really great to find local grapes done in a Rhone style, and done well. Tell Dave we sent you.

Spoiler alert...I joined the wine club on my first visit to Kunin..... In Santa Barbara you can find multiple wineries who produce beautiful wines sourced from estate or other vineyards up and down the California coast, but I often have a hard time finding one where I like everything they make. Kunin was this winery for me. Perhaps it was the beautiful sunny day sitting outside while safely socially distancing? Perhaps it was the kind staff? Perhaps it was that they source some of their grapes from Pink? (Bottles they call 'rockstar'). But my tasting experience was magical, relaxed, and everything poured delighted by palate in different ways. From the wonderful rose to rich reds, Kunin had something for everyone. The cherry on the top was the chocolate truffles they presented me for joining the wine club. Yumm! Club shipping price and cadence is very reasonable. First shipment is in the mail and I cannot wait!

Wines: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Aesthetic: 7/10 Great casual spot for a wine tasting with friends. For $20 we each got 4 wine samples. The service did a great job with refilling our glasses once we finished a sample but I wish we learned more about the background of the wines besides just reading the menu. I would also recommend the Classic White Tasting over the Valley Project since the reds were a bit heavy for a midday tasting.

Wine: they offer a good mix of both red and whites here. The tasting flight is $15 each (red or white). I tried the white flight and ended up purchasing a bottle of the '16 sav blanc. Ambience: this tasting room is modern compared to more rustic styles in other tasting rooms in this area. They have an open layout with a counter in the center and some seating around the walls. Service: the service was a bit lacking when I visited. Although I went on a Saturday and all the seats were full, there were moments when all three staff were just cleaning glasses when there were guests with glasses that needed to be filled. We had to flag down one of the staff several times to get the next tasting. Overall, I'd visit this place again and maybe try the reds next time!

Dave and this lovely boutique winery saved the day! We had made reservations in Santa Barbara to two different places several weeks ago and they never bothered to call to let us know they would be closed. Quite a disappointment. We found this close by and are so glad to have paid a visit! Wonderful quality and attention to detail. The natural Chenin blanc was a pleasant surprise and the reds were mature and substantial!

I've been wine tasting all up and down California, and I've never been denied service before, including at Kunin, until today. Took a friend up for wine tasting to some of the tasting rooms in the Funk Zone today, and wanted to drop by Kunin - not to taste - but to solely buy a couple bottles of their signature blend 'Special K'. Upon walking into Kunin's tasting room, the attendant (shaved head with the blue shirt in the photo attached) made a face that my friend and I were speaking Spanish, and instead motioned for a Caucasian couple behind us to attend to them instead, and completely shut us out. I've never been denied service before in the state of California for being Latino, so this was a first experience for me. Although I've enjoyed the wines here in the past, I won't be back - and will let my other Latino friends who also drive up from LA to wine taste not to patron this winery again.

This really is the perfect place for both wine AND food…read more So far we've been in a couple times sitting in the bar area and also out on their comfy patio space. Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the efforts of one server to keep things afloat outside…read more When we arrived, another large party had just left outside and she immediately cleaned one of their tables so we could sit. It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.
