Caffe Artisan Espresso Bar & Coffee - Dense almond croissant had good nut ratio but unpleasant not-almondy flavor. Nothing melted in the mouth, and we could not finish it.

It is attached to a hotel and restaurant but was super photogenic and modern. The latte was really,…read morereally good. I was really impressed. I got a salted caramel latte with almond milk, half sweet, and it was perfect. The food was less impressive. They had to remake my sandwich because I asked for no cheese... but oh well, it was okay.

A disappointing showing at this hotel cafe within the Tuscan Village compound. Slow, albeit…read morefriendly enough service, poorly executed food and drink, decent seating area. The hot lattes were flavorless and so mildly warm with actual cold spots, we wondered if ice had been put in them despite Not being iced coffees. The cold brew was no better in flavor. This is a Lavazzo espresso in an Italian-leaning shopping piazza, ya gotta get the coffees right, signores. Mingua. Then after a lengthy amount of time, our pastries were collected. All of the almond croissants looked as if entire bags of confectioners sugar had fallen open on them. Also a strange, not almondy flavor to the least-snowy almond croissant we paid an arm and a leg for and threw most of it away. Not worth the calories. Ditto the chewy and chocolate-lacking chocolate croissant. One spot of chocolate inside, horrible bready chewy exterior. These are croissants! Should be light and flaky by definition, even an Italian version. Not sure if Tuscan or hotel kitchen is at fault, or if they are shipped in from elsewhere, but the baked goods were baked bads. The avocado toast slice with tomatoes was the only winner in our entire order. We had been looking forward to trying this hotel cafe since it opened, and it was not at all worth our special stop or money or parking fee today. With so many cafe options, there is no need to give this another try when almost everything was a big letdown. If you are staying at the hotel, this may be the only game on the block, but I'm sorry to say they need to improve the service, efficiency, quality, and flavor. To put Artisan in their name is wishful thinking at this point.

This review is specifically for their signature coffee. We've been getting Farmhouse Blend coffee…read moresince before this restaurant existed when they were selling out of their Peach Tree Ice Cream location and we absolutely love it. While I grew up in Salem, NH - I loved to Los Angeles almost 20 years ago and every year at Christmas time look forward to my parents sending us Farmhouse Roasters Coffee at Christmas time. I wouldn't say we're exactly coffee snobs, but let's just say we like what we like, and enjoy nice dark blends. My wife and I have made it a bit of tradition to buy each other different types of artisan coffee around the holidays from many local shops, brewers, etc... and honestly, I think Farmhouse Roasters Farmhouse Blend beats anything out there. I feel like we're kind of "chasing the high" as we search for different coffees to try, and always come back to Farmhouse Roasters which is super consistent every time. The restaurant is great too, but honestly, we haven't been since pre pandemic so I can't give a detailed review... but it's worth it to simply load up on coffee if you're local or buy online... which we need to do more often.

I wanted breakfast, they had good choices, but I chose a chicken salad sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. It came with two pickles and some chips. My daughter ordered a breakfast meal and liked it. They have hot, cold coffees. It's in a big house with a warm home feel. People working are kind and they bring your food to you. I would definitely come back.

The walk-up window is on the back where you will find a couple of parking spots. Most of them were taken (by staff?) and there is one handicapped spot at the end of the row furthest from the walk-up order window on that side of the building. Watch for cars driving around the building before crossing! The two staff members we encountered were pleasant with a smile on their face and cheerful. I ordered a hot, house blend coffee with milk, so easy and quick. They also offer a dark roast if that's your preference. The coffee was a bit bitter, but not too much (as compared to another recent take away coffee I had) so that's a win with a nice amount of milk. The drive-thru lane took a couple of minutes. Nothing crazy. As the order and pick-up windows are only a car length apart, the order is made just before you receive it, so if someone has a large order, the line would move a little bit slower. It wasn't a busy time of the day and we were only the 4th car in line so it was a pretty quick visit. If we find ourselves in need of caffeine while in the area, I would try this Aroma Joe's again.
