The guy who was working 10/26/2024 at around 3pm was extremely rude and it was as if he was annoyed with us being at the establishment. He messed up one of our tea orders and started slamming things around and had an attitude while making the tea again from HIS mistake. Instead of actually tending to business, he decided to that working on his laptop was more important. My parents and I were very calm and cordial despite the crappy service and disrespect. So this is a lovely and brand new Kung Fu Tea location that I'm sure we will visit many more times in the future. It's a couple of miles off the highway in a leafy little part of town, close to the University - right where it should be. So of course they have it all - nice decor, good people, and good products. If I were to deduct a star, the main sticking point is the Lemon Black Tea - in that they have a big lit up board advertising "Lemon Series drinks" and then wouldn't make us any of them, "no longer on the menu", "might get in trouble", and it's like... it's what we drove hours to come here for, so come on now! However, they were willing to switch some of the drinks from green tea to black tea, which was super nice of them, and I won't punish them for the lemoncluelessness despite the obvious mix up with the sign even advertising the drink LOL. Anyway hopefully next time we come to Laugh-a-minute, we will be able to get their version of our beloved Lemon Black Tea. What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or: All the fruit teas are pretty good, especially if you go off menu and get black tea! Or: Go crazy and order your fruit teas with the very strong Oolong! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! I also love the regular milk tea with Oreo! Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, which is a huge compliment, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha, Tea Top, and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. If it's not on the menu, demand it! Other fruit teas (Orange, Grapefruit, Pineapple) must also be ordered off-menu as Black Tea instead of the meh Green. Also the Lemon Black tastes good as a Lemon Oolong, but everyone else hates it because they have bad taste. The one annoying thing about the chain is the corporate office (they're sketchy) and their rule that no drink can have its tea altered. Anyway let's get some food to go with our Bubble Teas. I'm feeling kung-ry. If you're hungry grab an Old Tyme Grocery Po Boy before or after you come here. Mm-mmm. This is the best place to get tea. I actually compared it to two other places in Lafayette, one of them being the one in the mall, and it didn't compare. The flavors are diverse. They have something whether you want milk bubble tea or fruit tea like me. I love the lychee tea with mango bubbles. I order in-store and on Door Dash and have never gotten my order wrong and it always tastes fresh. The place is clean when I go in and they are definitely friendly. Long Story Short. Would've gotten 5 stars if they weren't out of a lot of things. I wanted the coco cream wow milk cap. But they were out of milk cap, so I settled the coco cream without milk cap. Then after I placed my order, they said were out of coco cream completely. I really was only looking forward to the coco cream. Service was super nice about it and apologized sincerely. Boba balls were a little hard and not as chewy. But for Lafayette it isn't that bad! Their milk tea is little too floral for my taste and rather a more milky/creamy taste. Probably will be back cuz it's the only legit place for boba. Place is cute and plenty of parking. However only about 3 tables. So it isn't a great place to study. read more

Yay for KFT opening in Lafayette! We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were customers drinking/hanging out at the tables as well as a steady flow of customers in and out with their drinks. We ordered our usual wintermelon milk green tea and mango snow. Both of our drinks were good! The place was bright, open, clean and well-staffed! I use to frequent the location in Baton Rouge but now that I'm finish with school I'm happy they brought a new location to Lafayette. My favorite is still the lychee punch and the taro milk tea and I love their bubble toppings it really sets off the drink and makes it more of a dessert. They also sell nicely priced macaroons at this location. I found the red velvet to be a favorite. However this location is smaller and less lounge-y as the Baton Rouge location so I would say this is more of a quick stop with you and friend than bring a whole study group. Also, the cashiers aren't as upbeat and cheerful. Not a deal breaker, I'll be back but sorry you guys, I'm in the hospitality industry and I'm a sucker for good customer service. read more

Boba tea shops have started showing up more and more in lafayette in the last 12 months. Tea Rex is what I would personally consider the only true competitor Kung Fu Tea has. With that said, I have been here a few times. Twice during their soft opening and once after they opened. This tea shop is definitely catering more to a crowd who wants to get in and get out. They dont have much for seating and the environment feels almost as if you wouldnt really want to hangout here for longer than the time you're waiting to receive your drink. All three times I have been here, the place smelled faintly of bleach or some sort of cleaning product. This may not be bothersome to all, but I felt it necessary to include. The tea isnt all that bad, they offer a standard size and a large size with your typical tea flavors thrown in the mix. I like that they even sell loose leaf tea here as well. I definitely wouldnt say I was wow'd but I would rather this place than say Tutti Frutti. They use a honey boba that feels slightly too sweet to be in the sweet drinks I was getting. A lot of the milk based teas taste similar, almost like it's just a hint of tea flavor added to milk to change it up. We even tried something out of our usual norm by getting an oreo boba, which to our surprise didnt change the normal milk flavor we were use to and did not satisfy that oreo taste you look for in something like a shake for instance. I'm sure this place will be a hit with the college students because of how close to campus it is, however I think if you're looking for quality, atmosphere and especially for those a little more adventurous I would recommend going to Tea Rex. Plus, the payment process for Kung Fu Tea is strange, and something about the cashier telling us to "make sure we tip before inserting the card" was extremely off putting. Hopefully this is just because this place is new, but it is the most recent boba tea addition to Lafayette, and so far I regret to say I'm not extremely impressed. read more

This location opens at 1 which is the only downfall. My husband and I are unfamiliar with bubble tea, but a very sweet young lady was kind enough to give us several topping test tastes as we narrowed down to few selected drink options for my few new favorite toppings! We come very regularly and try to be open minded to something new each time. The same young lady would always seemed to be there each time we stopped by! Greeted by the staff has been welcoming and an A+ on your service! Very clean and comfortable. Great flavors, but waited over 25 mins for two teas! They seemingly had a large order come in via app right in front of me, but they did not start that order until the person came in. Meanwhile, I was forced to wait until they made all 9 of that customer's teas before they even began my two, whereas I was there before that customer. Ridiculous! Not worth the wait. read more
