I attended my first Yin yoga session yesterday for an event sponsored by a Veteran's organization. First, what an unexpected little hidden gem this place is! Love the aesthetic they've created behind such a busy road. I appreciated the open bay door AND outdoor pallets for people who want to practice under the sun and shade. The owner and the instructor were both really welcoming and put all of us 1st-time visitors at ease. The place is clean, and Danice (yogi) emphasized that all their materials are sanitized. They've got the floor taped off for spacing, and of course it smells calming and peaceful throughout. It's not a big studio, so I'm curious if spots fill up in most classes. I will be back! They have a website to reserve a spot and pay in advance. They may be on the more pricey side, but I honestly have no comparison. read more

I've been practicing at Kula for the last 4 years now. I can't recommend this studio enough. The community as a whole is wonderful, the students, teachers and everyone involved makes Kula special. There is a class for everyone, whether you're new to practicing yoga or you've been practicing for years. For people new to yoga, I know it can be intimidating to go to a new place or try something new, that was me the first time going here. I had no idea what I was doing. I'd never practiced yoga before, but as soon as I walked in the door I was met with kindness and warmth. This genuine kindness and warmth felt good, it felt safe. It felt safe for me to explore something new. So if you're newer to yoga or never tried it before but heard it could be helpful or you're just curious I would suggest showing up here, come to Kula. You will be met with that same genuine warmth and kindness that I experienced 4 years ago and still experience every time I walk through those doors. read more

My first and last time at Kula Yoga was the Organic Vinyasa class. I was hoping for an inspired flow and everything seemed to line up. When I crossed the threshold into Kula, the studio was buzzing with people, the smell of incense filled the air giving the place a spiritual vibe, the people were really nice and the dimmed lights encouraged self expression and reflection. After a 9 month hiatus, I was very excited to restart my yoga practice. I reviewed the class schedule in detail and settled on the organic vinyasa class since flowing through yoga sequences is typically a more physically demanding practice, less restorative. Sadly, I didn't break a sweat and the class felt dumbed down for beginners without modifications for people who have tried yoga in the past. I managed to make the most of the hour at Kula by changing up the instructor's routine. I have no plans to go back to a place where I'm not challenged. read more

What an amazing find!!! With the overwhelming number of yoga studios in the area, many of which are good, this one goes above and beyond. The donation-based system is innovative and really great, because it opens this studio and its practice up to anyone in the community. Every teacher I have encountered has been *delightful*, and 3 times a week they offer beach yoga---can't say enough good things!!! The studio is blissful; lots of nice things in the entrance and main area to check out, 2 peaceful studios, clean, and open-air wafting in to keep it fresh. Restrooms available, kitchen-y area with local vendors coming by from time to time to share their treats with us, and really great yoga classes for beginners and experts alike. Do yourself a favor; come on in!! They have converted an absolute anti-yoga family member through their beach yoga, so start off there if you're in doubt! read more

Life changing! I especially love the healing arts center. The amount of classes you am choose from each day is beyond and the vibes of the place instantly make me feel so peaceful. My all time favorite yoga studio. It's just so cool inside and the teachers are all wonderful and genuine. Must check it out - you will love it. read more

I fell in love with this yoga shala off the bat! They are a donation based studio, which is awesome because it brings yoga to the community in a way that doesn't inhibit people from attending due to cost. The shala itself is a beautiful and inviting space, unassuming from the outside but the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a place that is clearly filled with a community of people that care about the wellbeing and healing of others. So far I have taken Yin Yang Fusion with Chris, which was an amazing class that reminded me of what I really love about yoga; it has a subtle power to connect you with your deeper truth and remind you that the Universe loves and supports you. I have also taken a Restorative with Lisa and it was one of the best restorative classes I have taken over the last few years. Yes, this studio is a bit of a trek for me and for most of us, but it is TOTALLY worth the drive. Make a day trip out of it! From yoga on the beach to the idyllic enclave of a studio space on Tony Penna the classes and teachers have been knowledgeable and thoughtful. The classes have been both challenging while also remaining rooted in the practice of mindfulness. Many classes available from beginner through experienced. Donation-based model allows you to pay what you can making the practice accessible to anyone who wants it. Kudos on that. read more

I was visiting from out of town and stumbled upon Kula Yoga Shala. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the Rise and shine Friday morning class was exactly what I needed. I felt in my own practice and wasn't overwhelmed with alignment cues. I loved this class as we focused heavily on pranayama and regulating the nervous system. I left feeling very calm and connected. This yoga studio is GORGEOUS and the classes really touch on the deeper root of yoga - not just for the body but for the SOUL and MIND! It is such a sacred and special space. If you check it out, you will NOT be disappointed. All classes are CASH DONATION. You walk in and fall in love! Just a heads up to newbies-the entrance is AROUND the building in the parking lot. Just pull in and after you park, you have to walk around the back of the parking lot until the parking lot comes to an end and its all building. the entrance is sorta hidden but its a dope little path. After you find the entrance, you will love how it is tucked away! It is like walking thru a little garden to get inside! It reminds you that you are entering a truly special, sacred area. Loved practicing at this studio. I took the yin and yang class on the outside deck with Dakota. Being outside with the fountain behind us and little garden in front was lovely. Dakota was awesome and encouraged hugs at the end of class which was really sweet. Beautiful studio with so much to offer. read more

Wonderful experience. Great energy. This yoga studio has excellent instructors that are welcoming and knowledgable. Many classes each week to choose from at all levels. To anyone looking to practice yoga I would highly recommend this studio. Fees are donation based which shows that this studio cares about others. read more

I've practiced yoga since 2001, at many different studios, gyms and cities, kula is by far the best studio I have ever attended!
