My green thumb loves it here! As soon as you arrive you have to turn left and go all the way to the back pond area and explore the hidden gem of dinosaur statues, some of the biggest coy fish I've ever seen, and real turtles! Plus this visit we saw a couple birds nearby too. This first area is full of the assortment of Knick knacks that can keep you enthralled for days looking at! Gift ideas for all the people in your life and yourself. Then mosey on back into the greenhouse areas where you can find tools, dirt, fertilizer, garden pond chemicals and building supplies. Plus plant pots that will make you want to create the oasis of your dreams. The plants! Can I even skim the surface of the variety and fullness of the plant selection they have. I personally adore looking at the succulents and cacti, but I got kids so... haha I love the beautiful flowers and plant pot stuffers. So many ideas and inspiration. This visit I saw tons of hanging bags of flowers, so trendy! They also had wild and beautiful new flowers I've never heard or seen before. We also saw some of my favourite greens- food! The huge array of pepper plants and tomatoes were just starting to arrive and I loved it all. Then when you head finally to towards the till you go past canned good delights and fresh produce. Plus did I mention you can find a huge array of chicken decor? (Maybe that's just my thing lol) This visit I treated myself to a Japanese Air purifying plant called a Crispy Wave! Top it off with kind staff, they noticed my little one and didn't hesitate to pick a marigold flower for them to take home. read more

Lots of wonderful purchases from this local greenhouse over the years. How I haven't posted a review yet, I'm not sure. Every time I've shopped here for myself or with others, I leave feeling like I've found more than what I thought I needed (great for any gardener to feel that happiness and this was certainly true on my most recent visit). If you're looking for seeds, plants, ready to eat veggies & fruit, various garden maintenance items, home & garden accessories or decor items, this is a great place to shop. If you're on a time or budget limit, you might need to go in with someone else to help you focus and cover more ground. There's always a lot to look at and if you go often enough, there's even a stamp card to fill up (I won't go into the details, as another yelper explained that really well already). The last visit I'm recalling (in Aug 2021), I noticed they had a decent discount on remaining vegetables, herbs and flowers for your garden. To a point it distracted me from my original mission of buying veggies for my upcoming meals. Well only a little... as I bought some lovely mature herbs of basil, stevia and chives to add to my patio garden. I stocked up on the veggies I went there for but made a note to myself about the cases of BC fruit. I'm writing this review now as I forgot it in drafts and found it again when sharing this location with relatives and friends. Most recently my Aunt picked up potatoes from there (Oct 2021), so the food area is still available as well as all the neat extra things closer to the tills. Parking lot is large enough one wouldn't struggle to find a spot, it's flat and it's paved. The entrance/exit is both flat, making it welcoming for all levels of mobility. The signs could be a bit more strategically placed so one actually goes into the right greenhouse area for plants, types of flowers, veggies & fruit (fruits & veggies were at the far end of the connecting greenhouses but in the past years the veggies & fruit were close to the exit & tills). I also passed a lot of staff in the greenhouse but no one asked me if I was finding what I was looking for, if needed help with anything I was looking at or if I knew that they were closing up soon. It wasn't until I reached the till I realized what time it was with all the staff gathered near the exit waiting for the greenhouse to close. That was an odd feeling but I appreciate the cashier & what I assume was the owner for still taking time to chat with me and make sure I knew about the punch card and had everything I needed. While exiting, I noticed a bunch of very happy greenhouse cats and one very lovely old greenhouse dog. Something about greenhouse that keep animals always makes me smile just a bit more. read more

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. Kuhlmanns has become a near-weekly visit in our household, as we love the space, and it's been a great place to walk our pup and help him socialize while we stock up on plants and market produce. The greenhouse has also become our go-to for plants in the spring, and aside from their roses (as someone else mentioned), I've had great success with everything growing healthily. I agree that the staff aren't always as friendly, nor do they always know much about certain plants (except for Doreen. She's legendary), but honestly, I'm not looking for white-glove service here. Special shoutout to the resident kitties Penny and Smokey, but those wanting to bring their dogs may want to be aware that the cats are noooot pup friendly! read more

We were looking for a new tree or shrub for our front yard. We had a lovely time walking around Kuhlmanns and selecting our Japanese Mini Lilac tree. I purchased some other veg plants and they did pretty well in my yard. Knowledgeable friendly staff who enjoyed their jobs. Thank you & happy growing! read more

I discovered Greenland first for my gardening needs, and I still come here for pond liner, because I can use the points to buy plants. But this rating is low for two reasons: 1. Other plants from here I can nurse and they do all right. But I can't count the number of roses I've bought from here that just flat out die. They have a discount if you just buy them outright, but you pay a little extra for warranty of the plants. I couldn't be bothered, so lesson learned. Instead of buying roses here, I always get them at Greenland, and they always live. 2. The staff I've encountered here have been not only unfriendly, but sometimes downright surly. Whereas the employees at Greenland act like they really LIKE their jobs. They're chatty, and enjoy engaging you about your purchases. The last time I was here, one told me what beauties I'd picked, and where was I going to use them, and even made suggestions of items to plant with them. That kind of customer service goes a LONG WAY toward making me come back, repeatedly. Take note, Kuhlmann's. You could really give your employees some lessons in friendliness and helpfulness. As it is, I've stopped visiting quite as often. Two points for the store dogs and a few decent plants. read more

I love this greenhouse, been going for years. In fact, I took a pal here for the first time & she also loves them too! There's such a wonderful selection available... I'm certain they have everything I'd need and then some! my friend was raving about how they sold double red peonies here. I was impressed they readily carried wisteria and affordably priced...I was looking for this and a competitor I had looked at priced it at double the cost and it needed preorder! They also have a lovely promotion of 1 year warranty for paying full price on shrubs/trees OR a 25% discount without warranty. And they also keep the plant fertilizer best suited for the plant close by so I don't even have to guess. My husband thinks some pond supplies are better priced here too. My mom had taken me here quite a few times when I was growing up and I always found it to be well organized. I love how they have sections for pre-ordering floral arrangements, home decor, and produce & canned goods that they supply in farmer markets. They also have a stamp card for every $25 increment and once it's loaded up, they mail you a gift certificate for $25 with your next purchase! They are also COVID compliant with the lineup, port a potties outdoors, collect & spray sanitizing the handles of the carts for customers and sanitizer at the entrance. There was even a food truck/kiosk outside too! I should start bringing my daughter along to keep up tradition of coming to kuhlmanns! read more

Wow, was I ever impressed with Kehlmann's. I've been a faithful "Greenland Garden Centre" customer for years, and I still will be especially at Christmas, however I just say that Kehlmann's blew them out of the water this year! First of all, I find it much easier to get through the maze of plants, as Kuhlmann's has everything displayed on flat tables, not stacked shelves. So you can see everything in the distance, which I think is easier to spot things. Second, the plants were so hearty, especially for only Mother's Day weekend. They had some nice unique items too, but every greenhouse does I suppose. They had great planters for Mother's day... plants in a moss purse. So cute! The prices, I believe were a bit high, but I didn't mind as everything I bought was very hearty. I'll be going every year for sure! read more

Spectacular creations for the first Yelp Elite event of 2015. Amazing centrepieces that reflected the provinces beautifully. The quality of the flowers and greens, and composition were intriguing and we couldn't stop staring at the one on our table. I'm curious to see what else they can do. I often admire the flowers at the City Centre Farmers Market, I had no idea until now they did arrangements. Will be investigating them further! read more

I purchased over $1500.00 worth of plants, shrubs and trees to plant in the back yard of our newly built home and paid a "premium price" in order to obtain a "warranty" for them all. We installed an irrigation system as well to water the plants daily. Through no fault of my own, some of the plants did not make it to the next season and I was denied replacement of the plants under their warranty program. I was shamed, yelled at, criticized and humiliated by the manager in front of a line up at the till. I cannot recommend this greenhouse. I urge you to go elsewhere and spend your money at a greenhouse that will live up to their warranty, and does not disrespect nor insult their clients. read more

Was extremely excited to finally see the store. Found some cool/exotic plants and actually purchased quite a few. Almost every single one that I bought has died or is on the verge of dying. The staff in the store are sparse and not overly friendly, however the check out girls are great. Not really worth the drive. read more

This place is amazing. I love the plants' displays, the variety is crazy big. Together with plants and flowers, you can also purchase fresh produce and seeds. I loved everything I saw. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I picked up a few plants and I am excited to see what the fruit will be. I will be going back as I fell in love with this place. My mom and I have shopped at Kuhlmanns the last couple of years.. last year we had the most beautiful flowers ever. This year i spent over 200.00 on flowers and my mom almost a 100.00 and we are so un happy with what we got this year. all the flowers and planters i bought have died or they are on the edge of dieing. my yard this year looks terrible and i am so disappointed with how they have tuned out. I will not go back next. I bought 5 bagged planters and they look so bad I water daily if needed give then food to help. but nothing is working they just keep dieing on me. read more
